    Question about sell calls

If my calls I shorted expired today, would I be safe to sell the underlying shares? I know I'm gonna get the ol, 'if you have to ask, don't do options'. I read the 99 page thing on options, but it didn't clarify that scenario. Ideally I'd like to sell them before extended hours, but wouldn't want to create a naked call situation. Thanks

20 Year old recently got into stocks what are the best to buy for my age?

Already thinking on buying SOFI and HOOD, as per recommendations on other posts like this, what are some other recommendations on good stocks to buy??

Also feedback on what to look for would be appreciated I really want to get into and understand the market, Thanks.

How do options work with reversed split stocks/etfs?

Recently $YANG went through a 1 to 20 reverse split. I had $4 calls for 2027, so equivalent to 1/20 of an $80 call. $YANG is currently over $80 (so over what would be the $4 strike price even after premium), however it's currently showing that my calls are worthless! It seems unfair that a reverse split would affect my option calls and remove all bids on it and volume.

How can my option be losing value when it’s above the break even price the day after I bought it?

    Selling options, have no clue

Hello, need help. First let me say I have no clue what I’m doing with options so I’m sure it was stupid of me to get involved w them. But here I am trying sell an option for the first time that expires in January. I bought 20 contracts for $1000. It hasn’t moved much but today I see a return of $200 for a market value of $1200 and just want to cash out, sell it. I guess I thought it was as simple as selling and swiping but when I tap on the Trade button and then Sell, I type in all the contracts I bought (20), but instead of showing the $1200 the estimated min credit shows $899.40. Am I doing something wrong? I thought the profits were going to be $200 for a total of $1200, instead I’m losing $100? Please guide or show me if I should be doing something different, and why I would be losing money here, feel free to explain as if you were to an 8 yr old. Thank you!

Why does my option keep dropping to 1 cent?

Anyone know why throught the day my option keeps dropping to 1 cent? The actual price should be between 150-250 but it will just randomly stay at 1 cent making my dailey graph essentially meaningless.

"I was just wondering, are we good guys or bad guys?"

Last month, Reddit kicked off their "Community Funds" program. Subreddits that participate before the end of December will have funds raised for a registered charity matched up to $20k by Reddit, Inc. It slipped my mind until this morning but I feel that /r/Robinhood could participate.

This comes with a massive 'but'... I'm too busy to organize or manage this. If this is going to get off the ground, I'll need someone willing and able to do the work (I think it's just setting up the page on Tiltify, JustGiving, etc. and submitting it to Reddit via their form). If you're considering this and have some free time, please volunteer to lead it. The responsible person will be expected to create posts advertising the event, coordinate with Reddit, Inc., answer questions from the community, etc. If that person is you, speak up here in this thread.

While we're looking for someone to lead this, I'll also take suggestions about which charity we should raise money to support. This post is open to suggestions (and whoever leads it will have the final decision) but, to me, this choice is obvious:

The charity I nominate is the Robin Hood Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fighting poverty in NYC. For nearly 40 years, they've provided essential services to those in need of food, housing, healthcare, and education. Robin Hood works with major corporations to raise awareness of opportunities to give. Robin Hood and JPM held their 12th annual J.P. Morgan/Robin Hood Investors Conference last month with guests including Jamie Dimon and Bill Gates covering topics related to using the free market to fight poverty.

This is the organization whose CEO was sent death threats by the GME bois because they're too stupid to figure out what a charity is.

    A few links:

Even if this doesn't get up and running this year, consider donating to Robin Hood here: https://robinhood.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/

Day trade 24 hr hack buy positions close to 12 am eastern time zone sell after 12 am the following calander day....???

Day Trading Rules: The definition of a day trade in a 24-hour market may depend on the broker’s specific rules. Generally, if you buy and sell the same security within the same calendar day based on the broker’s time zone, it could be considered a day trade12. Example: If you buy a stock at 10 PM ET and sell it at 3 AM ET the next day, it might not be considered a day trade because it spans two different calendar days in Eastern Time.
