RULES

1. So what about that /r/ecchi aspect? Yeah so pretty much no straight up porn, that's reserved for /r/hentai. Ecchi borders on showing full nudity with female genitalia allowed (Example, think artistic nudity), although no showcasing/implication of sexual acts allowed or close ups/focus shots on said genitalia. Other obvious stuff being the 18+ no underage thing (only for ecchi submissions), and make sure to tag as NSFW.

2. Outside of fan art of retro anime, only original retro or new contemporary characters that resemble/reference retro anime designs are allowed (Example), no modern anime with a retro look/fan-design (Example, I know great artist regardless, its just no modern anime sry :/, also ironically the artist's OC character is actually allowed).

3. Include the name of the source anime in the title as 'Insert cool name [Name of anime]' or in any other way, original characters would be tagged as [Original] and album posts with multiple animes should be [Various]. Also optionally you can put the artist's name in the title (preferably before the [Name of anime]).

4. Include a source to the artist's post or profile page in the comments. If the link is dead including the artist's profile, link to a booru mirror (eg. Chan.Sankakucomplex, Gelbooru, Zerochan, etc.). Use IQDB, SauceNAO, Google Images, Tineye, Yandex, etc. to reverse search for the source. If all else fails, at least name the artist in plain text or request for a source.

5. Use albums for a small themed collection, only up to 25 images allowed per album. No more than 4 posts per day.

6. No reposts within 6 months, or of anything that reached a 1000+ score.

7. No submissions under 200p wide and 300p tall or that's heavily compressed. Use either Waifu2x (Desktop Version), Topaz A.I. Gigapixel [Paid] or Let's Enhance.io [Free Trial/Paid Subscription] to upscale/denoise (Waifu2x is best for simple illustrations, Topaz A.I. Gigapixel for more detailed artwork).

8. Gifs/video restricted to no more than 10 seconds (please no sub-15 FPS 200p gifs, use .webm places like Gfycat for higher res/30FPS videos that won't concern file size).

9. Oh yeah, just don't be faffing around with spam and toxicity, have fun and keep it rad!

So side note, why did I create this subreddit when /r/retroanime and /r/GoldenAgeOfAnime exists? Well for the first, it's mostly because it resembles /r/anime where its a balance between fan art, news, trailers and videos, and I just wanted something that resembles more of /r/awwnime where its a huge cacophony of artwork and some short gifs, and for the second its restricted to approved users only... :/

I initially pitched this idea with this post that lists a bunch of great fan art accounts that can make for that said cacophany thing, but to no avail in terms of comments I just decided to make the subreddit myself. Also I know this subreddit won't be as comprehensive as blogs like 80sanime (great source of inspiration and stuff to see here), but just to add to my faffing around I also made this subreddit because I'm just not a fan of Tumblr in light of their recent asshole-ness.

Also note I'm no C++ programmer, so I have no idea how to expertly implement features, so byeah.

Note that NSFW submissions will be more heavily monitored since the implications/weirdness can get out of hand real quick, so stick to nothing obviously out of field.
