Discuss the Psycho-Pass anime series (and associate media franchise) here.
The series takes place in the near future, when it is possible to quantitatively measure a person's emotions, desires, and every inclination. In this way, it is also possible to measure a person's criminal tendency factor, which is used to judge criminals which is called "Psycho-Pass".

I'm fine with nudity or sex scenes but it would be akward if one of my younger siblings walked in. All I know about is the rape scene in the first season.
Who tf is that i don't remeber seeing him at all When did he appear do we know him 😭
I really like this show and I’m struggling to find other shows like this. I’d appreciate recommendations
Thank you
Eles chegaram num ótimo clímax, tem tudo para finalizar uma temporada excepcional, a distancia entre first inspector e providence foi de 3 anos.. Creio q entre esse ano e 2026 poderia sair um anúncio de uma possível 4 temporada..
Has there been any news or announcement about a dubbed season 3?
I just watched Psycho-Pass: Providence and omg it was so good. I loved the ending and was pretty surprised by it.
The ending was great! >! I loved how Akane showed her true emotions at the end and how Kogami and Shimotsuki reacted. I think Shimotsuki had a lot of character development in this movie despite the fact that she wasn’t on screen that much compared to other characters. !<
When the second crime took place in public, why did no body give any reaction to the crime? Is it the helmet effect, was somebody controlling their consciousness? Or Were they aware of what was happening and chose to ignore the victim? EDIT: in a later episode where the video was posted on social media, they kept saying it was fake
I’m trying to get into watching this show after seeing it recommended so much, but am struggling to find a place where I can watch season 1 and 2. I live in Europe and Crunchyroll only offers season 3. Hulu is not available over here. Are there any options at all?
Re-watching and focusing on literature/philosophy references, does anyone know what red book Shogo is carrying during the intro of the 2nd half of the 1st season? TIA
I might even go as far as to say that s3 and its conclusion (first inspector) are better than s1. Really liked the new characters, new motives for the old characters, animation, story, etc.
I'm in the process of watching Psycho-Pass, at Providence right now, but I just couldn't help but stop and write this. I've fought the urge of ranting so far, but I can't any more. Who the heck is in charge of Japan's air defense? How did two Peacebreaker gunships managed to just fly in, wreak havoc, and then just fly off? Sure, in the opening, they didn't bring an escort of fighter drones to help them, maybe they couldn't fly in the storm, but if their goal is to kill the Peacebreakers, why not just shoot them down when they fly in? Why weren't any drones scrambled after the attack started? They could have at least intercepted them after they left.
This actually brings me to how pathetic Japan's defences are in a number of other areas as well, particularly network defense. Sure, Gu-Sung managed to pull of some pretty amazing feats in S1, but it was still plausible. Since then it's been down hill, though, with the worst example of sheer incompetence in S2, when a number of drone networks are hijacked so hard the people in charge struggle to regain control after hours, and ultimately just cut the filter on the feed instead to try to stop the attack. They even track down some of the people controlling the drones before they can cut their control off.
Then there's SS2, where a hostile drone manages to sneak in, slaughter government personnel not once, but twice. Did it really not occur to them to do anything to increase security after the first incident? This is Fortress Inquisitorius in Kenobi levels of recklessness. Actually, now that I brought up SS2, does anyone know how Rin Otomo found out about the gas? I couldn't figure that out.
For episode 9 they say that the only way to track down the main culprit behind all the artistic murders is to follow a blurry photograph. The weird part is that they specifically say composite sketches and traditional methods don't work for capturing how he actually looked. This is weird because he is shown hiding as faculty and doesn't even have a holo disguise on unless he changes into a student. Almost all teachers and students have seen this guy with distinct white hair. Surely it can't be that hard to get an accurate sketch and he is shown interacting with other staff so he isn't just antisocial and hiding from everyone. This is my first watch so if it gets answered later please just say that
Okay, so Psycho Pass was my favourite anime of 2012 back in the day, especially the relationship between Kogami and Akane. Reason why season 2 was really dissapointed, added to the fact that I found Mika REALLY annoying, and I didn't feel she earned to know the truth about Sybil like Akane did. Anyway... the movie came up, and I really enjoyed it (Kogami was back!), but by the time the season 3 came up it seemed that again, Akane and Kogami's relationship fell into the backdrop (I didn't watch it, so I'm not sure if that is really the case, but it was my impression back then).
So, I know more movies have come out, and there are several watch orders, but my question is: given that the relationship between Kogami and Akane is a big enganging point for me, can I skip some seasons/movies, or should I just push through them to get the full picture? (eg. I feel like I could've gone from season 1 to The Movie withoutmissing much).
Sorry if this is heresy to some.
Does anybody know about this game... I know it's not the best game... But i pick it up just for the sake of psycho pass
I can never remember her name but she shows up at the end of season 1 and then is the other main inspector but my question is why is she always such a witch about Akane? Is it just she was recruited as a minor and never grew up or jealousy? I never understood why she seemed to want to undermine and discredit Akane from basically day one of her job because from my recollection she never tries to ''play nice'' but get attitude from the start where she thinks she's superior. Am I being over sensitive or wrong because I haven't watched in so long?
Why did Akane Tsunemori kill Joshu Kasei? I understand her reasons broadly: "to challenge Sibyl's control of the justice system." "Tsunemori shoots Chief Kasei while maintaining a low Crime Coefficient, which should be impossible under Sibyl." Is it solely to awaken people to the idea that the Sibyl System's decisions aren't 100% accurate, or are there more reasons? If so, please explain in detail. Thank you!
Hey everyone!
I’ve been watching Season 3 of Psycho-Pass, but honestly, I’m having a hard time following everything that’s going on. The plot feels more complex compared to the earlier seasons, and I don’t want to miss any important details.
Does anyone know of a place where I can find detailed episode-by-episode summaries or breakdowns? Something that goes beyond just a quick synopsis and explains the characters' motivations and the political side of things would be super helpful.
Appreciate any pointers you can give me!
Need help with the watch order saw many different orders here on Reddit. So slightly confused
Just finished S1E11 Saint’s Supper and shogo makishima must die at all cost! I just started the anime and I’m hooked and it’s been quite sometime since like Game of Thrones Rains of Castmere where I felt utterly helpless watching a scene while screaming at the tv. Fuck that dude, that monster!
