I've recently been interested in pokemon competitive but im still confused on the words for example Setup sweeper, stall and much more. The only word i know right now is a glass cannon and thats basically a pokemon with high offensiv stats but low hp/defense stats. So if someone could explain all the words in a simple matter that would be great.
Im talking about terrain with the priority attack . I was thinking fastest pokemon with ice spinner.
So I was playing in ranked battles a few minutes ago and came across a Slaking that didn't have truant. It was paired with Weezing and it didn't not use skill swap or anything of the sorts. How is this possible?

Pretty much what the title says, what's the best way to practice? I've been a casual pokemon enjoyer since I was like 9. I'm 27 now. I enjoy the series quite a bit and would like to test my mettle against my local Pokémon trainers at the regional VGCs next year, but I really don't want a trial by fire type of situation. How do you guys train for tournaments? Are there any good discords for finding friends who also enjoy the VGCs to battle against?
I'm new to competitive pokemon and teambuilding, I was hoping you guys could give me some feedback on my perish trap/trick room team
Hey everybody! My name's Octo. I wanna get involved in more Pokémon battles. I've been playing Pokémon casually since Gen 3. I know I'm not gonna win, but I'd like to test my mettle against my fellow pokémon peoples in some capacity. I'd really like to build a team around Amoonguss. It's such a goofy looking guy and I know it used to be pretty good, but is it still? I was thinking of doing maybe a quick claw spore set - or maybe a team involving trick room + Amoonguss, Torkoal. Something like that, what do you think? Viable?
I have never played VGC and see the removal of legendaries and paradoxes as a perfect opportunity to start. I saw that two of my favorite mons in Basculegion and Volcarona are both viable right now, but tend to be on completely different team archetypes. Given the weather wars in the current meta, would a team featuring both in an attempt to adapt to the opponent's weather work out? If so, what teammates would compliment this anti-meta balance abomination? Lastly, will I ever be allowed to cook again?!?
Hi, ive always thought VGC was a really fun looking thing to try and ive watched Wolfey for a while but im not sure where to start in regards to a team with Reg H
I mostly stopped paying attention to the VGC scene around the time when the indigo disk came out and i had built a kinda mid rain team with archaludon and politoed but want to just try something solid
Any and all advice is welcome, thanks
