Team suggestion

Hey! I'm relatively new the competitive side of things (but not the game). I'm interested in doubles (VGC rules or Smogon OU) but I'm not particularly good at teambuilding.

I want to use Meowscarada, Corviknight and possibly Dragapult but I'm not sure what to fill the remaining 3-4 slots. I mostly want a good enough team with meow and corvi and see how it goes from there.

Is this type balanced?

New Type!: The Galaxy Type -Strong against: Galaxy,Psychic,Fairy, -Weak against: Poison,Bug and Galaxy -Resistant to: Normal,Fire,Ice,and Psychic. -Resistant against: Poison,Fighting, and Water -Immune to: Fairy -Cannot Hit: Bug

Reasons Why: Strong against- Galaxy; only a galaxy can face a galaxy,Fairy; although skilled magic is strong it’s hard to out-skill the universe, and Psychic; The reality of the universe will shatter the mind of over thinkers.

Weak Against- Poison; toxicity is a constant of any universe,Bug; What’s a god to a dumbass and Galaxy; only a galaxy can face a galaxy.

Resists- Normal; What are you gonna do against the sun??,Fire and Ice deal with temperature something void in space,Psychic; What is a psychic going to do when they’re having an aneurysm.

Resists against- Poison; A constant in life will always be able to resist what it’s constantly in, Fighting; Species are only able to exist within a universe if they are strong enough and Water; Existence cannot begin on a planet without water.

Immunities To- Fairy: a skilled mage can only do so well till the universe simply says “No”

Cannot Hit- Bug: There is no “stupid” type but a bug is unable to comprehend the insanities of the universe.

Pokémon that fit under this type: -Celfable line (Fairy/Galaxy) -Beheeyem (Galaxy) -Lunatone/Solrock (Rock/Galaxy) -Staryu line (Water/Galaxy) -Gothitelle (Psychic/Galaxy) -Claydol (Ground/Galaxy) -Gardevior (Psychic/Galaxy) -Jirachi (Steel/Galaxy) -Solrock and Lunatone (Rock/Galaxy)

Question about battling tiers

I'm somewhat familiar with competitive battling, but I'm not very good at it and I don't know any of the metas in much detail. I wanted to get an opinion from more experienced players: if you were fighting in an OU meta, and you were granted the option to swap out two of your Pokémon for one Ubers Pokémon (so you have a 5 Pokémon team with one Ubers Pokémon and 4 OU Pokémon, instead of 6 OU Pokémon and 0 Ubers, and your opponent may also make this choice if they wish), would that be a worthwhile choice? I'm trying to figure out the power differences between the tiers and I don't know whether, hypothetically, two OU Pokémon or one Ubers Pokémon would be expected to have more utility.

alternatively, would you propose a more fair exchange rate? 3 OU for 2 Ubers? 3 for 1? 6 for 5? something else I've not considered?

I recognise this might change between generations, perhaps that will be relevant to the answers, but I'm not looking at any specific generation.

thank you for your time engaging with my silly thought experiment

I made this random team with tinkaton

I LOVE tinkaton but sadly its not really good, I wanted to try and make a team with pokemon I like and ended up doing this thing, it may look weird but from the 20 games of testing i usually do with this kind of random teams i make i ended up winning 16 and were pretty fun matches, so i wanted to share it with everyone

Modded 3DS Pokemon Bank

hello! i just recently got a modded 3ds with all of the pokemon games on it (gen 1-7) and i’ve already used local trading between my pokemon moon physical copy and the modded 3ds ultra sun. what i was wondering however is how pokemon bank works. i have it downloaded and updated, and it says you need to link your nintendo ID, which my regular 3ds has a nintendo ID that i have used to pokebank to my switch, what i’m concerned about is transferring my Nintendo ID from my 3ds, to my modded 3ds. would that impact the games that come preloaded on the SD card? or would my best bet be to trade all of my pokemon from ultra sun to my physical copy of moon in order to pokebank it?

thank you! any information would help out a ton!

How important are IVs

I’m trying to egg grind for good IVs in a lvl 100 singles format and wanted to know, since it’s only a few points difference after ev training and it’s really troublesome

  2. Any IV and EV spread changes are allowed.

  3. This team is for Pokémon Showdown

Doubles OU tier, choose a Pokemon that is in that tier (or lower).

  1. Any Moves changes are allowed as long as the moves aren’t illegal, not very useful for the Pokemon on my Pokemon on my team, or just used for trolling. (Also NO baton passing on this team, I have a lot of trauma for Baton Passers).

  2. For my last Pokemon, please only pick a Pokemon to best Compliment the rest of my team.

Team Nr 2

I already posted a team and wanna know if this one is better. Hopefully it is, but I'm not touching Overqwil or Scovilian. You're lucky I didn't put Sewaddle or Leavanny on the team

I need help on the math

I know smogon showdown has a damage calculator, but I need to know a lot more than damage calculations to know which is more likely.

Situation: my Tauros is running thunder, and is facing off against a paralyzed starmie which is at 73 - 81% health in Gen 1, which combo is more likely to ko starmie without Tauros getting hit by anything?

Combo A: body slam and then hyperbeam.

Pros: body slam has 100% accuracy.

Cons: body slam can’t ko with a crit, leaving Tauros open to a 75% chance of getting hit, and requires hyperbeam which has a 10% chance of missing.

Combo B: thunder then hyperbeam/body slam.

Pros: thunder is guaranteed to instantly ko starmie with a crit(Tauros crits 21.48% of the time), and there a 50% chance Tauros ko starmie with a follow up body slam instead of a hyperbeam.

Cons: thunder has a 30% chance of missing.
