Dugtrio didn’t do much but he’s there i guess lol. Rivals Charizard was definitely annoying though.
I wanted to spice up a playthrough of Leaf Green by only using Water Types. I also saw it as a good opportunity to use Pokes I haven’t used before. Here are some notes about the Pokemon I used in the order I caught them.
Harry the Blastoise: I never used Squirtle before so I thought this would be a good time to test him out. Unfortunately, only Water might not be the best for him as I found him less useful as the playthrough went on. He wasn’t at the bottom of the team but he definitely wasn’t the go to player. Solid member all around.
Draco the Gyarados: Gyarados is probably the greatest playthrough Pokemon of all time. I try not to use it too often because of that but it had been awhile so I decided to pick one up. He was definitely a contender MVP of the playthrough along with another Pokemon I got later. He dominated Misty, Ericka, and Return+DDance shredded Lance.
Dumbledore the Starmie: I never used a Starmie before and I felt so stupid when I saw how good it was. I used it to take out Koga, Blaine, and Giovanni (any water type was fine for the last to really). But that’s not all because Starmie absolutely destroyed the Elite Four. Lorelei, Bruno, Lance, and Blue stood no chance. Biggest surprise and definitely the MVP of the run
Goyle the Poliwrath: I originally had Ron the Kingler in his spot but opted instead for Poliwrath for the Fighting type. He was also a pleasant surprise for me. He didn’t hit as hard but I tried not to rely on Gyarados. Goyle made for a great back up physical attacker. He didn’t do too much in the Elite Four but he’d probably have held his own if I put him in more.
Bellatrix the Tentacruel: I was somewhat disappointed in her performance. I’ve used Tentacruel before and they’ve been great but in this playthrough I was almost forcing myself to use it. Unfortunately the LVP if there was one.
Luna the Lapras: Originally I had Hermione the Vaporoen in this spot but changed he out for Luna and her Ice typing (plus I’ve used Vaporeon loads of times more than Lapras). I also kind of forced myself to use her. I used her a bit more than Tentacruel but she was definitely near the bottom as well.
Overall I enjoyed the change of pace for a playthrough. I would recommend it if you’re looking for a change of pace. Any recommendations for other types to run through with?
My only death the entire run was Wartortle in Pokemon Tower (fitting lol). He died to a critical hit Thrash from my rival’s Gyarados.
It was a shame it was my starter, but it taught me early to be way more careful, take it slow, and to always assume a crit is coming.
This Nuzlocke gave me WAY too much anxiety lmao, it’ll be a while before I attempt another one. However it did teach me what an absolute monster Weezing is, I had no idea, he can take some hits!
GGs, glad we made it through.
Attempt #7 of a yellow Pokemon only nuzzle and my Beedrill solod Brock with some RNG
Hello all. I am currently playing Pokemon LG and doing the retroachevements mastery. Currently I’m trying to capture Entei for the achievement but have not had any luck making him show up. Problem is, every video I’ve watched and every post I’ve found on this is either incredibly vague about the requirements needed or they all give different answers
So far I’ve beaten the elite four, I’ve unlocked the national desk, I’ve delivered the ruby. Do I need to do the quest for the sapphire too before Entei show up?
Haven’t played Pokemon in years and never had the best grasp on it. Does anyone have any suggestions for my team? I’m currently working through Silph Co.
Please help. I have used some codes that give female only encounters and glitched nicknames. I just want to find shinies for the Action Replay I have. Can anyone please provide any actual code I can try? I would really appreciate it!
I am hoping this acceptable and I am posting in the right place but I have been a bit confused about cheat coded and how the function in Gen 3 games more specifically Leaf Green and Fire Red, which is why I am posting here.
I want to use the Easy Safari Catch and Easy Wild Pokemon catch and I have tried everything from seeking different codes for versions to just timing the cheat at different times such as throwing the ball vs waiting for it to hit the ground or close. Etc but no matter what I do I can't seem to get these cheats to work. What am I doing incorrectly?
Been hunting for shiny charmander for about a week now around 670 SR and I’ve created a new save file twice, just wondering does creating a new save file increase chances of getting the shiny or is a new seed generated after every soft reset thanks
Sorry the flash, forgot to turn it off before pic.
Just finished the E4 for the first time in LG. Rate my team xD
Lol
Who do you guys think I should add as my last member of the team? A couple notes/ questions:
I need electric coverage but I was thinking of just teaching dig/ quake(when I get it), otherwise should I add a ground type?
Is Poli and Lapras too redundant? I’m trying to use mons I’ve never used and these 2 fit the criteria, plus I get the easy ice beam with Lapras
Only ideas I had in mind were Taurus or Kanghaskan(sp on both lol) or even Chansey
I know it’s not a big deal because the game is relatively easy but thought it would be cool to see what you guys think
Playing my first pokemon game ever using Bulbasaur, I just got razor leaf and I need to delete one of the following moves to add it:
tackle, sleep powder, leech seed, vine whip
I was thinking tackle, but not sure if thats a terrible idea... appreciate any input, thanks!
So.... I keep getting my butt handed to me by Lorelei... What should I do?
Elite 4 is not all that hard provided you are carrying the proper counters!
Lorelei comes first: Dewgong, Jynx are weaker on Physical Defense while Slowbro and Cloyster are weaker on Special Defense.
Low kick is very underrated move and Primape is even more underrated Pokemon!
I took out Dewgong & Lapras with Low Kick. Slowbro & Cloyster went down to my Gengar's Thunderbolt and Dugtrio took out Jynx with Rock Slide.
Second is Bruno: Both Onix are very weak to Special attacks and double weak to Grass & Water. Both Hitmons are weak in Physical Defense.
Onix went down to Blastoise's Surf. Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee & Machamp were taken care by Dodrio's Drill Peck.
Next is Agatha: Both Gengars & Haunter are very fast but also very fragile. Golbat is also fast and has Confuse Ray while Arbok has Intimidate! One strong and fast Psychic (move) user can make quick work of entire Agatha's team!
I used Gengar to take out both of Agatha's Gengars & Haunter with Psychic move and then switched to Blastoise to deal with Golbat! Arbok was taken care by Dugtrio although it is better to hit Arbok with Psychic due to its Intimidate ability!
Last was Lance: Gyarados goes down to Thunderbolt, Aerodactyl will fall to Surf/Ice Beam/Thunderbolt & Dragonite is double weak to Ice Beam. Both Dragonairs are only weak to Ice Beam!
Gyarados & Aerodactyl were taken care by Gengar's Thunderbolt and further three Dragons were dealt by Blastoise's Ice Beam.
Lance was by far the most difficult battle of this run!
Champion's team was - Pidgeot, Alakazam, Rhydon, Arcanine, Gyarados, Venusaur!
Pidgeot & Gyarados went down to Gengar's Thunderbolt! Venusaur was taken care by Gengar's Psychic. Alakazam is very weak on Physical defense so I used Dodrio's Drill Peck. Rhydon & Arcanine fell to Blastoise's Surf.
I’ve completed the elite four. Transfer Pokémon to heart gold with no issue. The “migrate from heartgold ” function shows up on my legit copy of leaf green. Played 70+ hours (most doing the daycare glitch in the game corner rocket hideout). Completed the SS Anne mission. The music keeps playing while fishing and saving. Gotten all the safari pokemon. Verified on r/gameverify and the mods say it is legit. The circuit board looks legit. I’ve watch 20 YouTube video fake vs real cart and it looks legit. But I’m worried that I got unlucky got have a real good looking fake repo cart.
FYI: I tried the berry forest on the sevii island again lucky it didnt crash this second time
I’m asking to verify if my cartridge is legit or fake.
Well for starters, Lorelei was kinda annoying but I managed to beat her
Bruno as always got destroyed by some Surfs and Aerial Aces
Agatha was easier than I expected, but her Golbat was way annoying too
Lance almost destroyed me, I don't have any effective Pokémon against Gyarados so it was way more difficult than it should be, but after it, Ice Beams destroyed his dragons
The Champion OH MY GOD, he managed to faint 4 out of my team, but I managed to beat all of his team and hit one last Hydro Canon on his Arcanine, right away to the victory
My team in Fire Red is by far a lot better than this team but it was worth the effort
This was allsow Mt first ever playthrough of leaf green/fire red
I only had one death and that was a caterpea that I had to sacrifice in the first gym cuz I didn't want to grind it up to the level cap :P
