ive been seeing tons of posts about this and that it happens but ive also read that it isnt? im so confused help
Hi. 37 years old if age really makes a difference for this specific question.
Would anyone happen to experience a drop in blood pressure around their period? If so, how hard the lowest you’ve seen?
I’ve recently started to monitor my BP after having symptoms of low pressure. I was diagnosed with POTS a few months ago, so I always assumed my symptoms were from that, but after checking my BP, I saw that it was pretty low. I naturally run low with BP anyway, so a further drop would obviously make me feel worse. I read that the week before your period your blood pressure can drop. Just wanted to see if anyone else experiences this, how severe it gets for you, and what you do to manage it and keep numbers more normal.
My vagina is constantly burning and I’ve tried many vaginal creams such as miconazole and clotrimazole!! I don’t if they are helping but if they are just a for a tiny bit!! Also it doesn’t hurt or burn whilst I pee so it’s definitely not UTI!! Anyone knows what this could be?? I started getting this burning feeling like 4-5 days ago!!
My period was due yesterday, according to Flo. Today when I woke up in the morning I saw something brown, it looks like the start of my period. I washed my private part and there were blood clots. Do you think that's my real period? This is my fourth pad, when I went to the cr to pee, there was no blood in it but there was when I wiped. I'm nervous maybe it's implantation bleeding.
p.s. I didn't have sex after my last period. I got brown discharge throughout my midcycle
hey guys! so i put a tampon in but i started to feel lightheaded so i got scared and took it out (last year i put a tampon in and started feeling lightheaded and got shivers so that’s traumatised me since.) anyway after i took it out i saw the tampon was ripped so i assumed it ripped inside of me but when i stuck my finger up to check i couldn’t feel anything apart from blood. i’m wearing a pad now bcs i don’t wanna risk putting anything up there. also i’m a bit scared about the lightheadedness because i never get lightheaded on my period, the only times i have is when tampons have been involved. i keep thinking i might get tss 😭😭 and idk if i do have smth to be worried about so any help would be appreciated!
I always read about how the bleeding on bc is not “real”. If you Google it, the first explanation will be that it’s withdrawal bleeding, but that only applies to the pill. What about implants such as Nexplanon?
Strangely I never see a straightforward explanation of this…what is the biology behind the bleeding that takes place while on Nexplanon?
Are they periods? The progesterone released ceases ovulation so why does bleeding still occur?
Anyone ever experience having aching pain that sometimes comes with sharp pain a few days before period? I have had it since years ago and I'm still experiencing it. I was referred to a gynecologist before, he took xray and told me I'm fine but he did mentioned that it seems that my six rib is tender. I've seen a cardiologist, did echocardiogram, ECG and holter and all came back as normal.
Today, I'm experiencing chest pain in the middle of the chest, which is sternum, I believe. When I press on the rib, it's tender too.
I'm just wonder if it's a normal symptom 🙁 thanks!
I’m 25 now and first got my period when I was 11. For years I would get terrible cramps where I would just take painkillers every few hours for them. I also would get migraines, heat flashes and cold sweats/chills, diarrhea and constipation, nausea, and would have to crouch down in fetal position for some relief. I have been on birth control in the past and it didn’t help with what I was experiencing and also caused a lot of weight gain and depressive episodes. Now, I still get headaches with every period and a mix of diarrhea/constipation followed by constant fatigue and occasional cramps. But I will start cramping 4-5 days before my period actually starts (and start bleeding), cramp during, and sometimes I’ll cramp for 1-2 days after my period ends too. The cramps before my period start are painful and its like I can literally feel everything happening in the uterus if that makes sense. This morning I woke up with such intense cramps that I could not stand or walk. I walked downstairs to head to work and ended up walking back upstairs in pain and using a sick day. I’ve always sucked it up in the past but today was so painful. How concerned should I be?
Does anyone else experience aches/crampiness in the general "down there" region while menstruating? I get that more often than abdominal cramps and am currently going through it as I type. I also get those horrible sudden rectal pains, I swear no one talks about them but OUCH
i hate being on my period and i get so embarrassed because i bleed through so many times, like ive bled on an international flight TWICE i hate it so muchhh and i feel so embarrassed. ive tried everything like double pading or tampons (but i gave up because i didnt know how...)
like literally none of my friends ever have the same issues :')
So I was meant to get my period on the 28th, (Monday) and I’ve been getting creamy discharge and now im not getting much? Any ideas? F14
I started my last period on Wednesday 23rd of October, that day it was pretty light. On Thursday came normal flow. Friday, Saturday was steady but light and Sunday it was light again, to the point that the tampon had barely anything on it. Assuming my period was over, I had sex Sunday and Monday night but after each intercourse, there was blood. I just assumed it was old blood that hadn't fully come out. It is now November 1st, I am not actively bleeding, when I put a tampon in, no blood is collected on it, however every single time I insert my finger into me, there is blood. The blood is bright red. It doesn't come out when I pee, doesn't flow out on its own, only when something is inserted inside. What is going on?
Also: I've had only one and same sexual partner in the last 7 months, I have a copper IUD. Before this, my period were regular, I track them on an app and they always came and ended when predicted.
Hi everyone. I don’t know what else to do :/. I’ve had my period since October 18th 2024; it is now November 1st 2024 and I STILL have it. I’ve had consistent pelvic pain and cramping as well. My OBGYN ordered an mri to see if there were any masses and or endometriosis— to which came back with nothing. My scan was fine. Although I am relieved that I don’t have cancer masses/ endo that can be seen, I am left once again feeling hopeless and STILL NO ANSWERS as to why I am still bleeding and have persistent cramping and pelvic and abdominal pain. Ps. When I went for my annual exam, my OBGYN did feel a nodule and did an internal ultrasound to which they found a fibroid in my uterus and a polyp in my right ovary on a follicle. I also have PCOS and multiple auto immune issues. Help!
I have been experiencing brown discharge for a few months now. 5 days before my period, and at least a week after my period ends. Is this normal? I am in my 30s.
I take 24+4 birth control pills. This cycle I wanted to skip the placebo pills to postpone my period(I have trip coming next week and I didn’t want deal with bleeding). Yesterday I was supposed to take the first placebo pill, but to postpone the bleeding time I started a new pack right away. However, this morning I started bleeding despite taking the active pill yesterday. Why? Should I now take the placebo pills as per the previous schedule and let it bleed out? Or continue with the active pills as I planned?
I have PCOS and it been awhile since i last had my period. I saw blood when i wiped two nights ago and assumed i have been blessed to bleed again but when i checked my pad the next day, there was no blood. Later that day when i wiped there was blood again and also a tiny blood clot. But pad is staying clean (except for discharge)
My periods are usually heavy when they come so this light period thing is trippin me up. Plus it been awhile so idk if i’m just be having a regular period.
Any thoughts?
I am just curious, my blood has been staying inside of my vagina this morning when I found out that there was a blood clots and knew that my menstruation is here but, I waited for an hour to let it stain my pads but no blood flow still. It's been like six hours. Is there something wrong with me?
Hello! I recently been confused about my periods/spotting ? Please keep in mind that i’m not on any birth control ! So, basically, i started having very brown/black spotting 2 weeks after my normal periods ended (ended on the 17th of october). Since then, i’ve been bleeding every single day, not much, no pain, just brownish/blackish blood …. Does anyone know what it could be ? This happened to me few years ago and i bled for 1 month straight. i had a check up with a midwife to see if i don’t have endometriosis - good to know that i don’t have endometriosis, but i do have multifollicular ovaries. I’d appreciate any advice/help!!!:)
My cycle lasts roughly 32 days give or take and it usually lasts 7 days. However this time my period lasted 8 days and I didn’t think any of it because it happens once in a while but 6 days after that I started bleeding again and I usually bleed in between my periods but only for a few days. It’s been 7 days since it started and I’m still bleeding. My periods are very heavy and this is not as heavy as that but it’s heavier than my usual spotting so I have been using pants liners and this is lasting way longer so I’m quite concern. Sometimes it would brown sometimes it would be bright red. I don’t know what’s going on. The last time I had sex (protected) was 3 days before my period started. So is this like implantation bleeding but it can’t be because I had my period right? I don’t know what’s going on and I fs don’t want to be pregnant, and my mother won’t let me get it checked out (I’m 18). Help? Has anyone ever experienced this before?
Has anyone on here had light spotting before your period, a light 2 day period, and then light spotting again? so total of 9 days of bleeding?
Very minimal cramps, light bleeding, and the spotting was/is very inconsistent. it starts and stops throughout the day. My normal period lasts 5 days, 1-2 days of spotting before it starts, and no spotting after. It’s also usually accompanied by normal cramps and is a medium flow. This is very new and weird. All PT’s are negative as of yesterday.
If you have any idea, i’d love to hear it!
Yesterday my period came out of nowhere(i didn’t have cramps before it which i usually have) and it was unusual cramps it hurt really bad and i went to sleep and in the morning i woke up to a terrible cramp so i went to the bathroom and i started seeing black and i was dizzy and i had nausea and i also heard ringing noise and i had to take of my shirt because i started having hot flashes. Is this normal? It’s the first time that a thing like that happened it scared me.
Hi folks. I’m a period haver and have recently come off the pill after 15 years. I was taking the pill to stop my periods and only had a period every 6 months for a “clean out”.
I’m late 30s and have had approx 8 cycles since being off the pill. They have been pretty regular, some time up to three days late.
My problem is that I have a lot of discharge, and am quite hyper sexual since coming off the pill. When I was on the pill my libido was quite non existent. The discharge is clear and increases around ovulation, which I understand is normal during ovulation. It’s the discharge when I’m not ovulating that’s bothering me.
I have to wear a panty liner constantly and have to change it up to three times a day. Would this be because of the hyper sexuality? As I feel like I could jump someone’s bones any second of the day. LOL
I also can smell it, my friends and family said that I do not smell but I get wafts of it during the day especially when I need to change the panty liner.
As I said it’s clear and not cheesy or green or anything. I’m not sore or itchy.
As I haven’t had a proper cycle for so many years and I think I’ve forgotten what it’s like.
Im a bit embarrassed to go to the doctor incase they are like yeah it’s cos your horny all the time so I thought I’d check in here before progressing to the doctor.
Thanks for reading.
just for the girls who are late bloomers i started birth control at 18 and after 9 months of taking it i decided to stop and got my very first period 2 weeks later i was scared something was wrong because i’ve never experienced cramps before lol ( not saying you should do this just sharing my experience)
okay I know go to the doctor, and I have, and will continue too, but at this point I need ideas, im stressed out lol- imma try and keep this short and to the points
I am a 21 female, I got my first period when I was 16 AFTER being put on a birth control to see if it would help about a year and half after being on I switched to the nexplanon which stopped the period I was having. The period I was having when I was on the pill was irregular as far as I remember. I got the implant taken out almost two years ago and I have since to have a regular period. This year so far I have only had one, and last year I had 3 for the year. I don't really know what to ask when I go in for my next appointment, what to try and push for and look into, the OBGYN I have been going too does seem to care and want to help, I am more anxious and stressed than she is which understand because its to me and not her. I am just hoping for some help or ideas im not sure
Flo says my periods are late it was supposed to happen on Tuesday but its friday already and no signs, instaed i have the white discharge ( thick and clumpy) my boyfriend went back to his hometown and I'm shit scared now....even my mom knows my periods are late
Anybody else get post period depression/anxiety? Anything that helps with mood? My period ended yesterday and today I felt meh… low energy and like sad?
I'm hoping to get some insight from anyone who experiences bad period pain and has been through medical treatment/diagnosis.
I've always had this problem, but thought it was just something I had to live with.
I never thought I had terribly heavy periods. I can wear a normal tampon for about 2-3 hours on my heavy day, and soak through a pad in about 4 hours.
My problem is that every single period without fail I will get horribly painful cramps about 6-7 hours after the start of my bleeding. The cramps are in my lower abdomen, they feel like burning/squeezing pain, accompanied by lightheadness & severe nausea, and (this is the part that concerns me the most) shooting pain down both my legs. Sometimes I am unable to walk, but not every time.
I've become accustomed to calling in sick to work on the first day of my period because I've been sent home enough times to know I shouldn't even try. So, I would say these cramps are debilitating to the point that they stop me from doing "every day activities".
Here's my hang up:
This only happens for 1 day. I get maybe an hour of the really bad cramps once or twice on day one, and then the rest of my period is fairly normal. I get what I imagine are 'normal' period cramps, uncomfortable, but not debilitating, and my bleeding has never been concerningly heavy. Heavy, but I was never overwhelmed by it.
I am always fatigued the week leading up to & the week of my period, and am usually also very lightheaded and get dizzy spells.
All of this is to say... should I see my doctor? Or is this a pretty normal thing? Maybe I just have a low pain tolerance...
Hi everyone, I (19F) have been struggling with pretty intense period pain and came across this pain relief device. I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it and if it actually helps? I'd love to hear any personal experiences with it!Also, if you have any other go-to solutions or recommendations (whether it's a device, home remedy, or anything else), I'd be super grateful! I'm open to trying different approaches to ease the pain.
For five months I have had protected sex with condoms. Six months ago, just once unprotected on a fertile day and with external ejaculation. This month my period came three days early and the bleeding lasted only two days, then only brown blood, it was a little lighter, I usually have a very abundant flow. In five days I have to get my period, I'm hungry, i have creamy white secretions and strange sensations in the lower belly and abdomen. Could I have gotten pregnant during that unprotected sex and not noticed? I've always had menstruation, with lumps, regular but I've read about stories of false menstruation or particular pregnancies. Maybe i’m just anxious.
