I'm supposed to get my period tomorrow, but I THINK I'm only just now ovulating based on discharge. Is this normal? I don't have much irregular cycles. I'm in my second year of having my period
okayy so i never had my period and i’m 13 i posted like 2 weeks ago about like brownish reddish discharge and like few days ago i had the same thing and like yesterday i went to hang out with my friend and when i came back home i saw blood on my underwear and i obviously thought it was my period but i only bleed for like few hours like maybe 4? and is this normal? is this my period? i mean this time it was like blood and a little bit of discharge and i don’t know what to do help me? i think first period’s supposed to be like shorter or something but like since yesterday no blood. is this my period? and if not when i might get it?
I know I probably have PCOS as it runs in the family, but a little worried about this. Was 3 weeks late for my period, but had cramps for the full three weeks. Then got a 4 or 5 day period (pretty short for me) then about a week later cramps still hadn't gone away and it started but was like 12 hours and barely filled an r tampon (usually I'll bleed through an S+ in an hour and a half to two hours.), and then the cramps continued and it just started again. I'm a trans guy, but I'm not on any sort of hormones. The only thing I've been taking is a multivitamin and only started that within the last week. I've been drinking plenty of water as far as I know, since I've accidentally gotten dehydrated to the point my period stopped. I'm just kinda confused and want some advice, I plan on getting into a gyno soon but I don't get my new insurance till sometime in January. Mom told me it gets worse as you get heavier, I'm about 235lbs now and have been over 220lbs for almost 5 years now, but haven't experienced anything like this before.
Hey guys! I have a trip in about a month and was checking my period tracking app only to be rudely made aware that my period will be starting during my trip. I know that jump starting a period is possible, but I fear there may be complications: my periods are now in the beginning of the month.. so my period will begin early January (as of writing this) & my next will begin early February (during my trip). Is it safe or possible to induce my period early and essentially have TWO periods in one month? One at the beginning, and one at the end? Thank youu!
So for some background, I got a Mirena IUD placed in Fall 2022, and it fell out in Feb. 2023. I’ve been thinking for a while that it really fucked with my hormones because I gained about 40 lbs despite only having it for a few months. But now that I’m almost 2 years IUD free and I’m still having issues I’m wondering if there could be something else at play? I’m wondering if it could be endometriosis or pcos, or even a thyroid issue.
My cycle length is between 26 days and 36 days. Usually it’s a 1-3 day difference but earlier this year there were a few months where they differed by 6-9 days. I’ve never missed a month, so is this considered a regular cycle even tho it’s not the same every month?
Every month I spot for 1-4 days before my period fully starts. I usually have some cramping too, sometimes a day before I even start spotting. Are these normal things to experience or could there be something going on? TIA.
I was recently prescribed naproxen for severe cramps towards the end of my period which wouldn’t go away after taking painkillers. Now I am still experiencing significant pain (enough to disrupt my daily life) after taking prescription dose naproxen and ibuprofen on top of it. I’ve had an ultrasound and everything came back normal. I’m wondering if this is something I should be concerned about or if I just have a low pain tolerance? Didn’t want to be the person who self diagnoses after googling symptoms so I figured I’d ask reddit.
my last couple of periods have completely destroyed my stomach. i have absurd bloating and cramping but also diarrhea 3+ times a day right before my period and during. i take pepto, immodium, midol etc etc and nothing helps the upset. idk what else to do but it’s embarrassing and ruins my ability to even go out or have fun anymore bc i’m always in pain running to the toilet. any suggestions…? 😭
Hi I’m on day 6 or 7 of my period and it’s about to end and I’m having nausea and headaches which I’ve never had before would that be normal? I last took a plan b on nov 24 and last had sex on dec 20 and just did unprotected grinding and probably got semen on my labia (not precum and im pretty sure it didn’t touch my vaginal opening)
So I always had irregular periods since I started my periods but the whole of 2023 was regular till may 2024.since may I didn’t see my periods again so I decided to try contraceptive pills to balance my hormones and after 7 days go taking them I saw my periods again but they are extremely painful and heavy. Is normal or what?
For the past year or two my periods have been painless yet irregular. I only noticed it about 6 months ago when I actually started tracking my period (I went through a bout of severe depression before that at start of two years ago , I was bedridden and extremely ill at times, at one point I did not leave my room for 6 months besides food or bathroom). During this time I did not track my period at all, but after the fact it has now dawned on me that it was every 2 weeks (same as it is now roughly, sometimes a few days more or less)
I have a doctors appointment coming up soon where I will be referred to an OBGYN but I wanted to ask about a specific detail.
I almost exclusively pass blood in clots, they’re never alarmingly big but they range in small to medium size (think quarter to half dollar range)
Is this concerning? I didn’t really think about this detail as I was more concerned with the length of my periods but now that I recall I didn’t pass blood in clots like this before, but now it’s clotting almost exclusively. What could possibly cause this? Normally with disorders I see people complaining about some of my symptoms but it’s almost always coupled with, it’s extremely painful. I feel almost no pain, ever. I can’t remember the last time I had a period cramp.
TLDR; periods are two weeks long. I know that’s not normal, but I wanted to know why I’m almost exclusively passing blood in clots. I almost never experience period pain anymore either. It’s rare. Painless , long, clotty period..weird?
so i got my period on christmas day and yesterday (the 29th) i went pee and when i wiped i saw these two small things. they’re each about the size of a sesame seed and they’re hard and deep red. i have no idea if i should go to the doctor or not. any thoughts on what they could be? thanks!
For reference, I have pretty heavy periods, I've SOAKED through an ultra tampon and a maxi pad in as little as 15 minutes and regularly pass clots the size of small oranges or larger (about the size of a quarter at the smallest).
It feels like nothing helps with the pain, I've taken 6 ibuprofen with no change in pain, acetaminophen doesn't help either nor do naproxen and Midol. I've tried heating pads, cold compressed, baths, I'm at my wits end here and don't know what else to try.
I don't have insurance because I can't afford it but "make too much" for Medicaid. I can't take estrogen based birth controls because I have migraines with aura and because of that I'm at "an unacceptably high risk for blood clot in the brain (stroke)", progesterone made me bleed for several months straight despite having been on it for 6+ months as well as bleeding for about 2+ months straight give or take after having stopped it. Endometriosis runs in my family (both my grandma and great grandma had to get a hysterectomy around my age due to the severity of it, it skipped my mom) and not a single doctor, even female doctor has taken me seriously.
I've tried taking supplements (including iron and B12) but they haven't helped at all with anything and I have a lot of food allergies and intolerances (red foods dyes, deathly allergic to any spicy peppers, I can't eat most meats besides occasionally some chicken or turkey, can't eat any form of seafood besides seaweed, and eggs also give me digestive problems) so diet changes are a little difficult, though I try to take supplements to help balance out what I'm missing from most foods.
I feel like I'm going insane and out of ideas on anything that could possibly help because I can't afford to see a doctor. Almost no one else around me has even heard of an ultra tampon and if I give one to a friend or coworker, it lasts them the entire day whereas I'm lucky if it lasts 2 hours, I feel like I bleed more in a single day than all my coworkers do combined in a month and I have to use ultra tampons for at least 3 days of my period (if I'm lucky and have a rare lighter period) but typically around 5-6 days of my 7-8 day period.
I'm really hoping at least someone will have some type of ideas on what could potentially help me cope with the pain at least, the flow sucks but the pain is keeping me awake for hours at night despite being absolutely exhausted otherwise.
so i started my period the last saturday after skipping it one month and thought everything was fine but i was wrong. i've been bleeding nonstop heavy flow and using 2-3 thick pads daily to deal with it. im going to urgent care tomorrow but does anyone know what could be going on? another reddit post told me i might need surgery and google scares me more so i just want to hear any other experiences.
Alright, so my TENS unit actually relieves my pain by 10 miles but I can still feel some discomfort, especially in areas where the unit is not attached.
I remember seeing the differences in this scene in Resident Evil 4 Remake vs. the original.
Let me know how accurate this is for you!

i just got my first period at 17 years old. i was beginning to think that it would never happen. i was on hormone blockers for about 3 years and also have pcos. i fully bled through a regular tampon all the way down the string in about 3 hours. this is day 2 of my cycle, yesterday it was just some light spotting. is there any way to minimize how bad i feel about myself. im trans as well so this is a pretty hard time for me mentally. the cramps have been painful but manageable, but im scared to bleed through my tampon while im asleep. 😕
Does anyone have tips? My periods are so painful I can’t move, and I basically lay in bed for 3-4 days. I have a heat pad, I take 5 Advil every 4-5 hours (I know, it’s not good to take that many that often, I’m just desperate for relief. I’m working on lowering the amount I take, I don’t take Advil outside of my period though.
Drinking water doesn’t help, exercising makes it worse, I don’t eat fast food often (I’ve been told fast food can cause painful periods), none of the “advice” I’ve been given helps. I’m tired of this, this has been happening since I was 11, I’m almost 20. Midol doesn’t help either, I used to take midol with Advil but I stopped because I didn’t notice much help and it made me sick to my stomach.
I have always had heavy periods ever since I got my periods when I was a child , and I’ve always heard that it is significantly less likely to have heavy periods when you are underweight (i am 160cm and 43kg) a lot of my periods are both irregular and heavy, only 1% of the time they are regular and light . Could this be caused by something like PCOS or something similar ? Would it be worth going to the doctor about it ?
I experience really bad periods—extreme fatigue, pain, being mostly bedbound, barely eating, and constantly needing to rest. Are there any medications or steps I should take beforehand to help make my periods more manageable?
I've always been a girly had really long periods that last 7-9 days. Along with being a heavy bleeder and losing my energy those days, my symptoms are usually manageable. I got my period at 9 so it's been like that for 10 years straight.
However, my period just ended after being slightly late I'm kind of in shock, because it was just four days and so extrmely intense i actually developed dark circles from it. I had to use two pads at all times and changed about five times a day, unable to get up and do anything from now exhausted I was. It's stopped so suddenly and now im surprised at how short it was, since I'm not used to that. It doesn't feel normal, so why would I start getting irregular periods our of nowhere?
If there's any advice, thank you 💗
Had my period normally last month then started a new pack of BC as usual. Last Sunday I realized I had been a day behind since starting the pack so I doubled up once I realized. I’ve been spotting since last Sunday- 9 days now. What is causing this ?
I’ve always had a heavy flow but now it’s actually very excessive, the second I drop my pants blood will flow everywhere (took a shower earlier and the floor was like a murder scene)
Changing my (night) pads every hour, and it’s my 7th day now. Been like this every day. I wonder if it’s normal? I’m anemic too :(
What helps distract you from the thought of being on your period and focusing on the pain?
My periods are literally so irregular they sometimes dont come for months at a time and generally only tend to be around 4-5 days and are never ever really heavy or never get anycramps also it may sound crazy i totally forget they even exist and if i sit and think to myself omg its been so long since my last period It normally comes in the next few days it actually feels like my body totally forgets and i remind myself im aware it sounds insane but most times it happens! What could be the causes of it being so irregular tho because surely its not normal my body should really be needing to get rid of the blood?( Im 21 for context and always been like this and on no sort of birth control or medication )
Has anyone gone through anything similar?
I (17F) have been experiencing irregular periods since 2022. I was struggling with an ED which had caused me to completely lose my period from 2020-2022. Since then, I have recovered and I have gotten my periods back. But, each cycle lasts different amounts of time.
This year, my cycles have lasted the following amount of time: 24 days, 29 days, 21 days, 41 days, 64 days, 47 days, 40 days, 63 days (my current ongoing cycle).
Back in April, I asked my pediatrician about my irregular periods, but he brushed it off and said it was normal. Should I be worried?
I’ve had 8
Hii I’m 19 and I’m 3 weeks late for my period. If anything I usually have two period a month occasionally but I’ve never been more than a week late. I’m having all my symptoms such as irritability, depression (I’ve been crying almost everyday), constantly hungry, very tired, and I’ve been craving a lot of sweets. I’ve been also having random stomach cramps everyday. Does this happen every once or awhile or is this abnormal?
