Notre Dame AD Moose Krause was the keynote speaker at Le Moyne's 1955 athletic awards banquet. During his remarks, he said he hoped a game between Le Moyne and Notre Dame would be scheduled in the "not too distant future." See https://newspaperarchive.com/sports-clipping-mar-27-1955-4716378
Although the AP classified Le Moyne as a small college (as opposed to a major program) for the 1954-55 season, the Dolphins went 11-8 in a 19-game schedule, but they played more than half of their games against major programs and went 5-5 in those contests. The season's biggest highlight was a win over Western Kentucky State, ranked no. 20 in the AP major program poll at the time. For whatever reason, the "not too distant future" has turned out to be 70 years.
Phins Up!
I am looking to buy tickets to a ND women's basketball game but can't find a detailed seating chart. I see the sections, but not how the rows work. Are number rows or letter rows closer? TYIA!
Prediction: 89-68
We got our first revenge game of the Shrewsberry Era! The Irish head to the capital to take back what any man would die fighting for, bragging rights. When these two met last year in South Bend the Hoyas came out on top 72-68 in OT.
A lot has changed in the eleven months since that fateful night. Coach Cooley is now in year two and looking to bring this Georgetown program closer to the respected heights we all know it as. He’s decided to follow the same blue print that’s worked in the past for the Hoyas and that’s bringing in a classic Big East big man with 6’11” true freshman Thomas Sorber who won Freshman of the Week in his first games of college ball.
Although the Hoyas bring in 12 new players, their leader is a returner who was 3rd in the Big East in scoring last year in Jayden Epps. Highlighting the newcomers is Micah Peavy, a Swiss-army knife defender from TCU who can also play in the post and hit the 3. The other interesting transfer is point guard Malik Mack from Harvard who won Rookie of the Year in the Ivy League as a true freshman last season.
Georgetown is 2-0 with wins against Lehigh and Fairfield, but they’ve struggled to shoot from deep (26%) and take care of the ball (16 turnovers per game). This should benefit an Irish team who’s great at defending the perimeter and forcing teams into tough spots.
For the Irish, expect Tae Davis to be utilized on a few different players throughout the game to limit their guard play and plenty of fast break opportunities similar to our previous game against Buffalo. Even though most project this Hoya team to finish at bottom of the Big East, don’t be surprised if they surprise many as they bring in a lot of new talent. As our first true road test, it will take someone outside of the trio of Burton, Shrewsberry, and Davis for us to come out on top.
PREDICTION: Notre Dame 77, Georgetown 72
The Fighting Irish come into this game off a convincing 89-60 win against Stonehill College. Leading the way were the Sophomore backcourt duo of Marcus Burton and Braeden Shrewsberry with 18 points each. Though it was a great all-around effort for their first game of the season. As a team, they shot 11/23 from the 3-point line and outrebounded the Skyhawks 50-23.
Despite playing a deep bench with quickly interchanging lineups (10 players played 10+ minutes) the Irish managed to score the most points in the Shrewsberry era, a promising note for an offense that struggled to have an identity outside of Burton for most of last year. And even though the stats may not show it, the defense also looked as good advertised.
Tonight the Irish face the Buffalo Bulls, whose 2-0 start is their first since 18-19 season. They started the season with a nail-biting 83-82 win over Old Dominion, led by Tyson Dunn’s 24 points and 10 assists. Dunn followed a great night up with the program’s fourth ever triple-double, putting up 14 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds in their 87-78 win over Fredonia. Dunn was awarded the MAC Player of the Week for his performance. It will take another team effort on defense to stop Tyson Dunn, but it’ll be interesting to see if Tae Davis is the main defender or if Shrewsberry trusts Princeton transfer Matt Allocco to take the responsibility tonight. Expect one to be on Dunn and the other to be on Ryan Sabol who’s leading the way with 19.5ppg to start the season.
It will be a good test for an Irish team still trying to find their identity on offense, but their stout defense should hold up against a Bulls team that’s only shooting 34.5% (t-176th) from deep.
Prediction: Notre Dame 85, Buffalo 66
Fun Fact: Buffalo Bulls guard Anquan Boldin Jr. is the son of former NFL wide receiver Anquan Boldin.

Anyone know if the men have a post season banquet?
Proud of this group. What do you guys think of this season so far under Schrews?
I just watched the ND/UNC game and wanted to give a shoutout to Dane Goodwin on this sub. (I'm a Tar Heel fan.)
Has he always been such a great ball handler? It's mesmerizing to watch the ball return to his hand as he wishes. Very impressive. ND is lucky to have him. Reminds of Steve Nash. I wish him nothing but success. Good luck this year.
Caleb Williams is a 6’7” W/F out of Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. He’s a very high-feel, high-IQ player with versatility and a silky-smooth jumper. He’s been associated with a lot of winning over the last calendar year: Nike EYBL champion (16U) with Team Takeover, DC State champion and Mid-Atlantic regular season and tournament champion with Sidwell Friends. Irish offered Williams today. He’s also been offered by the likes of Michigan, Virginia, Indiana, Maryland, Virginia Tech, and many more.
Here's a newly-published complete breakdown of his game, equipped with nearly 70 video clips, detailed statistics, and tons of insight into his game, intangibles, and coachability: Caleb Williams Evaluation.
Bryson Tucker is a nearly 6'8" shooting guard out of Mount St. Joseph High School in Baltimore, MD who is currently the #9 overall player in his class (2024) by ESPN. Notre Dame has offered and are contending with Duke, Indiana, Maryland, Illinois, Georgetown, and LSU, among others.

I love the Irish. I'm 63 and my first memories are of Terry Hanretty to Jim Seymour. I wore Austin Carr's # in little league.
This year's team is frustrating. In Blake Wesley, Notre Dame has the rare 1 and done. They also have 4 talented Sr's who at times play like wide eyed freshman.
Last night at times I was seeing a elite 8 team. However, when crunch time came, they wilted, as the did against St Mary's, Texas A&M , and several other squads. I feel like this season along with this class ( Hubb, Goodwin, etc) started with heroes that will end w/o a Tourny appearance.
The wrought iron and cross on the mens “God Country Notre Dame” shorts seems like it is from somewhere on campus but I can’t place where?
Go Irish!
