I just got a Nikon but I have absolutely no idea how to work around with the settings to fit the vibe or take really cool pics during my time in Japan in the next 2 weeks
I can’t exactly remember the model of the camera as it is not with me right now but it is pretty modern I suppose.
Any good recommendations of settings I could use as default for my camera to take picture of the landscape or me and my friend?
I have never, ever worked with a camera. The only thing I know is to press the button to take a shot 💀
Hope you could help!
Camera: Nikon Z8 Lens: Nikkor Z 105mm macro f2.8 Flash: 2x Nikon R1-C1 Settings: 1/100, F22, ISO 100
I am totally new to the world of photography so I am just starting/trying to learn. I bought a used D4 to start taking photos of my kids hockey games, but I can’t figure not figure out this setting. By pressing the button I change it from Single point to 3D, but I can’t figure out how to change it 9, 21, or 51 point. I am using a sigma 70-200 lens with it. Thanks for any help!
Some photos I took during a recent trip, the place is well known for its awesome coastal scenery, one of the quietest stretches of beach in Taiwan, a thriving local art scene, live music on Saturday nights, aboriginal festivals, and lots of cool little cafes.
Hey everyone!
I am very new to photography and I have just bought myself a D7000 with a Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G VR II lens. I have heard that a decent equipment set that will cover most situations consists of the lenses I have, a 10-20mm lens and a 70-300mm lens. I am just struggling to find lenses that I can clearly confirm are compatible with the D7000 that won’t be a waste of money. I was wondering if anyone can recommend some compatible lenses that won’t break the bank? I don’t mind preowned/new or genuine Nikon or other compatible brands.
Also, is there any way to just enter my camera model and select the lever to check compatibility, like a website or something?
I am mainly looking at getting into Landscape/Cityscape photography. I might also want to do done occasional photography at car shows etc.
Thanks for any advise/suggestions you may have! 😊
Had the Z6III for about 2 and a half months now. While fiddling with it, I noticed that the small rubber piece on the rear of the camera was protruding, as if it was bulging out slightly. I pressed at it for about a minute to try and get it back into place and suddenly it came off. Seems like the adhesive was compromised as barely anything was sticking to the camera body. None of the other rubber pieces seem to have this issue. My guess is that on one rainy day some water must have seeped into the small gaps in the rubber and slowly weakened the adhesive. Then again, the piece does seem a bit larger than its intended slot so maybe this one had some fitment issues to begin with?
Welp, regardless of how it happened, I don't think this will be affecting me too badly. But I do have some questions if anyone has an answer:
Do these rubber parts have any effect on weather sealing? I would think not if they can just come off like this, but just want to make sure if I need to treat my camera differently.
When the time comes when there's a real issue with the camera and I gotta send this guy in, does anyone know how much it would cost to do a replacement on all the rubber grip parts? Might as well get those replaced all at once when I cross that bridge.
Any recommended adhesive to provide a temporary solution? I just don't want to keep in in a drawer and forget about it in about a month. Might as well keep it attached to the camera in some capacity.
I recently found my old Nikon D5000 from when I was a teenager (almost 15 years ago!), and wow, I really didn’t take the best care of it. I used it a lot back then, but it’s seen better days.
Now I live in Switzerland, and when I checked the Nikon repair site, it redirected me to the EU support page. Turns out they only accept certain models for cleaning and servicing, and the D5000 isn’t on their list.. I’d really like to get it cleaned and serviced since the sensor seems dirty, and there are probably a bunch of other little issues after all this time.
What are my options here? Does this mean I can’t get it serviced at all? I’d hate to just give up on it and throw it away. Any advice would be appreciated!
It’s pretty new to Z mount, and I’m curious if anyone’s had a chance to use it and compare it to the (legendary) 105 f2.8 MC Z mount Nikon.
I’ve been toying with adding a macro lens to my collection and these would be the two options.
I really miss my old 70 to 300 vr which I used for some of my favourite landscape photos.
Debating either a 28 to 400 VR (£1400) or the 180 - 600 vr (£1800) or the 100 - 400 VR S (£2400).
I don't care about "heft" so happy with a big lens. I won't shoot in crazy rain so the weather sealing whilst great, probably isn't vital. And I absolutely love big front to back compression with landscape photography and the 600 would really bring that home.
Based on the above, it's gotta be the 180 to 600 right?
I've already got 40, 85, 105 primes so I don't really need the wider side of the 28 to 400....
Advice ?
I have a Nikon p1000 and when I try to use manual mode the exposure compensation is too high or too low, i adjust it and there is a small window where it works but right after i slightly change the shutter speed the exposure comp goes too low or high once again. is it happening to anyone else and is there anything broken on my camera?
I just bought a Nikon Coolpix S550, and each time I try to take a picture, it blinks red on the lightning sign. Numbers also appear at the bottom don’t really know what they mean. I also bought a new battery, so I'm wondering if the issue could be with the memory card since it came with an 8GB card. I'm not sure if that holds enough storage for pictures.
I sort of expected this to work given the EN-EL15C batteries supports in camera charging etc. I’ve done a few tethered shoots now and the battery continues to drain. What am I missing? Does it just not work like that? Do I need a specific cable? Any help greatly appreciated!
I am looking to buy a Macro Lens as a gift for a sibling with a D3400, however I am extremely out of my depth when it comes to camera equipment. It will mostly be used for nature photography and I am looking around for something in the range of $400ish AUD. Any recommendations would be welcomed.
From my short search I have found a $500 Sigma EX 105mm F2.8 DG AF Macro ( however it states "for canon AF" so I dont know if it will be compatible).
Hello everyone,
Is anyone experiencing issues with dynamic range while editing RAW images from the Nikon Z6iii? I previously used a Lumix S5, and when editing product photos, I had much more flexibility with highlights and shadows. However, with the Z6iii, I feel somewhat restricted in this aspect. I’m new to Nikon—could this be due to a specific setting, or is it just a limitation of the camera itself?

Hello Everyone. I need help with a decision about my new camera. Bit of a background. I am still shooting with my 2016 Samsung NX1 camera. But it's time to move on. I am shooting mostly landscaping, astrophotography and time lapse. Sometimes wildlife. Staying within my budget is of course important as well. So here are my two choices for the landscape/astrophotography setup. (A zoom lens will for wildlife will be added later
What's your opinion? Thanks
hi i'm new to photography and just bought a second hand nikon d5100 . everytime i want to take photo in live view and flip the switch it seems to tell me shutter error . how do i fix it?
Hey guys! I was very immature and forgot to put my SD card back in my camera after taking pictures. I want to put the pics on my SD card so how would I do that? If not, is it possible for me to put them onto my phone in any way even if I can't do the SD card with the adapter method?
Hello! I recently purchased a Nikon F6 in seemingly wonderful condition, but upon closer inspection I see this irregularity on the rear LCD panel. I'm not sure if this is LCD bleed or something else. Is this something that I should be concerned about? While I'd love to keep the camera, I'd rather not be needing to send it off for repair in the near future. So, any insight is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I recently purchased my first Nikon camera the D7500 kit, the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR Kit, which includes the Nikon 40mm f/2.8G AF-S DX Micro NIKKOR Lens. I love it! I also plan on getting the Nikon 50mm f/1.8G AF-S NIKKOR FX and the AF-P NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6E ED VR in the future or the Tamron 18-400mm F/3.5-6.3 DI-II VC HLD
