Hi just need some peoples opinion on my camera choice. i have found a Sony A7ii with 30k SC selling for 569USD only the body. i want a full frame camera and im not a sports photographer. im more of a hobby type photographer . is this a good deal ?
Hey guys I’m a somewhat beginner, but not new. I like high quality stuff. My boyfriend got me this camera for my birthday, but I’m not loving it, everything looks kinda flat. although after messing around with the settings for a week I’m finally having some slight sucesss, but overall, I never really needed a dslr. I want a mirrorless and some film cameras. Can this camera be saved by getting a better lens? For professional level? I want to potentially make money with this. Or should I just have him return it and that way I can get both of the cameras used condition that I wanted (Pentax k1000 and a Kodak powershot g7x)
I've never had this answered despite asking on other subs/discords
I don't know which models I should look at, which ones to ignore, what specs to prioritize, etc.
I was looking for the rebel t7 as they are listed on the FB marketplace for around my budget, but I really don't know If that's ideal, if there is something better that's still in the $250 ish range.
I could get around $260 to start out the photography and my needs are basic autofocus, taking photos and low light conditions.
My options here in the Philippines are Pentax K-30, Canon 600D, 650D or Nikon D3200 and I'm not sure which DSLR is better for that price.
Hello DSLR subreddit, I wanna ask a question
I use a Canon EOS 1100D / Rebel T3 and I take pictures mostly on Full Auto and Flash Off (Auto) and sometimes I use Aperture Variety.
I noticed that when I open the pictures on my phone and on Windows 11's photo viewer, they look okay.
But when I upload them to Facebook, the pictures go a little dry on color. I upload my pictures from my laptop using Google Chrome,
I'm curious what is the cause of this because the pictures look okay on Instagram.
Hi All, I am striving to get into photography as a hobby to destress from work and school but at the same time want to see if I can start a side hustle with photography. I find that I am focused on wildlife, architecture, landscape, and portrait photography as my main avenues of common pictures. I want a all around good camera to use that will last me a couple of years (perhaps a decade) this would be a one and done camera that I can take with me on vacation and use for side gigs. I have a budget in mind that I want to stick to which is around $4,500. The lenses are not included in the budget as I have friends who will loan me a lens or two or buy used from Adorama or BH Photo for a relatively good price compared to new.
I am looking at the Sony A7R V and the Sony A1 as two contenders for body cameras to use. I am a student so I qualify for the education discount and could get the Sony rebate back on the camera, so I could save about 20% off the MSRP.
I figured that the cost of the A7R V and A1 could be justified based on those factors.
The total cost of the A7R V from BH Photo would be $3,508, while the cost of the A1 is $4,900.
The rebates from Sony decrease the cost even more, so the final price of the A7R V would be $3,118 and the A1 $4,250.
Is the extra $1,100 worth it for the A1? Or would I be better waiting for the A1 II to be back in stock and save later throughout the year and pick one up for the holiday sales around November 2025 at a discounted price? I am not in a rush but want to understand what is a good decision.
In the meantime as the Sony rebate I have expires by March 31st, I was thinking in the interim I could snag a 24-70 mm GM f/2.8 for $1,118 brand new before tax.
Open to thoughts about good next steps.

I was looking for a macro lens to go with my nikon d5200. My in-laws gifted me a Nikon AF NIKKOR 70-210mm, which seems like a great lens but doesn't work with my camera body. Can anyone tell me what body this lens would work with and make a recommendation for a macro lens to go with my D5200?
Hi all, can you please suggest a brand and model which has the ff specs: DLSR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 not mirrorless
It's hard to find one that is still available in market 😭 thank you in advance
Hey there all, sorry if I’m posting on the wrong sub, let me know where if possible. As the picture shows on not 1 internal lens but 2. There’s what I think is 2 separate types of possible fungus on the lens. Probably not going to get it repaired but I thought this was really interesting. Always been stored in a camera bag, indoors, with other lenses including a 50 year old minolta 100mm macro that’s flawless.
Lens in the photo is an e-mount Sony 55-210mm
Thanks for your time
This would be a first camera, used in canada for 500 dollars with 2 lenses and batteries. I believe it's mirrorless.
Does anyone recommend this camera for me in 2024? Or anything that's cheaper with same or almost same image quality? I think mirrorless is more beneficial...but not sure.
I want to take family photos and touristic photos.
Looking for a good DSLR or Mirrorless camera with video capabilities of 4K @ 60fps. The budget is around 1500$ for a bundle buy @ Walmart or Amazon.
Would you recommend this one ?
https://a.co/d/dw5JI9Z (I know it doesn't support 4K@60 but I guess it is not too bad)
I've shot with DSLR before but never mirrorless. Would you say its a viable option?
Hello there, I am looking to get into photography but don't know where to start and hoping someone might be able to recommend a good beginners camera but noting looking to spend a mega amount. TIA
Hi so I found this website where you could buy used cameras and lenses for a fair price and I saw this Canon XSI and a Canon EF-S lense for $130. I am new to photography in general and want to get into it. Is this a good deal?
I bought Nikon (D5100) on ebay and got a few batteries with it.
(NIKON) En-el14 7.4V 1030mAh 7.7wh
(NIKON) en-el14a 7.2V 1230mAh 8.9wh
(BATTERY PACK) NIK en-el14 7.4V 1050mAh (no wh) "use specified charger only"
The NIKON ones worked on the D5100 and D3500 but the B-P NIK one pops up saying it isn't compatible with my camera. I also bought some
(BESTON) en-el14 7.4V 1100mAh 8.1wh and those worked fine so I wasn't sure if the problem was if it was off-brand battery or the voltage #s.
Does anyone know what camera it would work for?
Just purchased this adapter to go in front of my Nikon 50mm lens, when installed it’s unusably blurry and I’m wondering if there’s anything off the shelf that I can buy to correct this?
Recently got my hands on a Canon EOS 90D (no lens). This is a huge step up from my micro 4/3 olympus I'd been using but needless to say, I'm starting my research over with this camera. Does the community have any recommendations for lenses that wont break the bank but still get the job done? I'm just a hobbyist, not a professional (obviously) so cost is playing a bigger factor than quality here. Thanks in advance!
Doing some research into the various OM-D cameras and am finding that Olympus has muddied the waters regarding USB charging, tethered power, hardwire shutter firing and PC tethering amongst their models and various 'mark' releases.
What I need is a model that can be powered directly -and- connect a hardwire shutter control (arduino project). I'm looking at the E-M1, EM-5 and EM-10. All generations considered. PC tethering would be a bonus but not essential.
Can any owners or experts weigh-in on suggestions meeting this criteria?
I haven’t used this what-was awesome camera for about 12 years so I’m out of the game for an awfully long time. Lost touch with the latest features and advanced tech in more current DSLR’s.
My first grandchild will be arriving soon and want to get back in the game and be able to share and post photos far more easily. I’m assuming a new DSLR would be the way to go.
Any way I should try to pick up the hobby again with this camera? I’m considering a new Canon EOS R50.
Thanks so much for the advice.
I am looking to purchase a 35mm 1.4 Sigma for a D610 body I have just received.
I have found one but just wanted someone to cast an eye over the pics for me before I purchase.
My posts about this appear to keep getting deleted by mods and I am not sure why.
Will link to the lens I want in comments.
Thanks.
Hi everyone, I’m dealing with an issue on my DSLR that’s been driving me crazy. There are powder-like spots appearing somewhere inside the camera that I just can’t get rid of, no matter what I do.
These spots become very noticeable when filming clean, clear frames, and it’s extremely frustrating. My lens is brand new, so I’m certain it’s not the culprit. I’ve also cleaned the area right behind the lens, but it didn’t help.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or how I can effectively clean it? I’d really appreciate any advice!
