Hey, recently I had an unfortunate coffee spill (milk + sugar, important detail), and one of my camera batteries lying out ended up taking a hit. It didn't directly spill on the battery, rather it spread around it only touching the bottom/lower sides. I picked it up right away and dried it off, but I'm concerned that the connection port (sorry for bad terminology) may have been compromised. If it was water I'd happily let dry for a few days and get right back to use, but this was a sticky milky substance. Should I use a q-tip and carefully clean edges with water, clean it another way, play it safe and just get a whole new battery, or am I overreacting? Battery is a Sony NP-FW50. TIA!
Sorry if it's the wrong place to post, I'm not a frequent reddit user :)
I’m trying to gather some good lens recommendations that can suit my needs currently. I’m not too deep into photography and still learning (Got into espresso and now this, man my wallet is in for some hurt in the next few years). But I’m starting to find that I’d like to that my current lens isn’t fulfilling everything I want. Mainly getting wildlife shots since I’m limited in zoom and additionally having a wide enough angle for large landscapes. I also wanted to really focus on sharpness as much as possible.
I have a Canon Rebel T7 and I have hardly used it. I love it, but it’s too large for my typical needs and I would prefer something more travel sized.
Is there any travel sized cameras, similar in size to the G7X, that’s comparable?
I heard the G7X is overhyped and not really sure what would be best.
I typically use my camera for photos, but a camera that has decent video would be good too!
Thanks in advance!

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong place. My wife is a licensed animal rehabber and has begun live-streaming and recording.
I wanted to surprise her with a camera for Christmas but, even after YouTube sleuthing, I’m confused.
Can someone learning the right direction on where I could seek advice? A website?
When I was a “photographer” in college we were still debating whether digital would even be able to beat film in our life…I feel like a dweeb asking but I would appreciate any help.
She is currently using her phone but I thought something more professional would be handy.
Thank you in advance
• Budget: less than $500 • Country: United States • Condition: Used- in good condition • Type of Camera: Nikon • Intended use: Sports photography, typically fast moving. All seasons. • If photography; what style: n/a • If video what style: n/a • What features do you absolutely need: I am a beginner so I do not really know how to answer this question! • Portability: Easy to carry, hold. I will be looking into a harness for holding. • Cameras you're considering:
Nikon DSLR 3100- bought new around 2014 and is lightly used with no known issues. The owner has let it sit for long periods of time. - $275
Nikon D60- owner does not have a lot of information as the camera is her parent’s and they have barely used it. - $360
Nikon D50-Owner has had no issues with this camera. They have the original box with all parts and pieces. -$499
Nikon D3300- I have not heard back from the owner but just wanted to throw it in as an option incase I am able to consider it. -$300
Nikon D750 Full Frame DSLR- used as a backup camera for studio shoots. - $550
• Cameras you already have: none • Notes:
I’ve used Nikons previously (borrowed from family members) but not consistently. It’s just what I’ve been recommended outside of online platforms and what I’ve found in Facebook market place. I’m fairly new, but am going into art school and would like to get more into it to add to my portfolio and materials.
Thank you!
Is there anyway to potentially fix this camera? I know very little on cameras, but its over 10+ years old now and is very dear to me. the screen hit my brow bone (long story) while it was on and now you cant see anything when trying to capture a photo or video. though the glass did not break. I'm pretty sure i have to replace the lcd screen (???), but you can still clearly see older pictures and settings clearly without any damage as if nothing happened to it. So basically I can't capture photos/videos without a weird colored screen. any help appreciated!
I am currently in the market for a used X100VI and am trying to be weary of scammers online.
There was one listing of the X100VI for $800 (AUD) which is less than a third of every other seller and sounds too good to be true.
What are some checks I can do prior to purchasing a second hand camera (specifically if the seller is too far away to do a meet and check).
I appreciate any and all feedback, thank you!
I don't plan to abuse the 4k settings too much on either camera, mainly focusing on the range 1080/1440 p, 24/60 frames per second. The autofocus on the A6700 would also be something that would come in handy.
Budget is also a concern, the A6700 is more attractive in that department, i don't live in a country that i can easily get lenses for an affordable price, so the difference between the two bodies would go towards a lens.
Do you guys think the A6700 will do the job or will it overheat?Should i just bite the bullet and get the FX30?
So, I was going to order some stuff from Smallrig with their Black Friday deals. However, when I got to the checkout, their form would not allow me to put in my PO box as my billing address, despite having my items shipped to a physical address. (My billing address is a PO box; I do not have a physical address for my credit card billing. My bank is fine with this, so why isn't Smallrig?) So, naturally, I went to contact them with their online support page. But when filling out that form, I was not allowed to send the message because I did not have an order number to put into the webform. I couldn't even fake one or input just text.
So, I can't order with a PO box as my billing address AND I can't let them know about this issue without an Order Number. Seems a bit silly.
I had to go to their Facebook page to find their email address. I sent them a message telling them of my ordeal and disappointment with their ordering and contact system. I explicitly told them that I wasn't looking for any compensation; I was only informing them of their website shortcomings. So what do they do? They give me a coupon code for 12% off on a future order. BUT, I can't use this code because of the above issue with my billing address. So, thanks I guess?
I also informed them that I purchased the items I was looking for at other retailers and even saved more than I would have from Smallrig. Not sure if they care, though.
In any event, be aware of this issue if you plan on ordering directly from Smallrig.
Hi there, I was thinking about buying this lens affected by several fungi because it's obviously cheaper. But do you think I can restore it at an affordable price?
I found these in my grandfathers house after he passed away. I’d really like to see what’s on them
Hello,
As the title suggests, my Sanyo Xacti VPC-HD2000 camera is saving videos to the SD card, but for some reason, it won't save images anymore. Has anyone encountered a similar issue ;-; ? I’d really appreciate any help or suggestions on how to fix this!
Hey everyone.
I know this isn't really about picture camera's, but I wouldn't know where else to go.
We have a dog who starts enting our couch pillows and plants when we're all out of the house (which, luckily, rarely happens). Obviously this is a problem, especially considering the Christmas tree standing in the living room.
To the point! Since, we don't want him to sit in a cage, we're getting an indoor camera. We just don't know which one. All we know is that it needs a mic and (preferably) can be moved sideways (180° should do the job).
Obviously, Ring is the big guy around, but they're an established brand. Big downside; they require a subscription in order to use their camera's.
So here's my main question; Which camera would fit our needs? Can we seriously consider Ring or are there better options out there?
Rare Rollei 16 that utilizes 16mm film from 1967.
Hi folks - I know this might sound a little strange, but I can't for the life of me figure out what tripod set up I would need to accommodate two Logitech Mevo Core cameras. It's for a vlogging setup where one camera is optimized for the subject sitting, and the other camera is optimized for the subject standing. This way there's no adjustment of the tripod needed from the subject depending on what position they feel they want to record that day.
I think I need a tripod, an extension arm, and some mount plates? But I honestly have no clue and I'm too far from a camera shop to see in person at the moment.
The Mevo mounting is 4x ¼-20; one on each side. Side ¼-20 also have Small Rig cold shoe anti-torque threads.
Any help is appreciated <3
My Nikon Coolpix B500 that’s practically new won’t turn on all of a sudden. It turns on when I replace the batteries to completely new ones but once I turn it off it won’t turn on again and taking the batteries out and putting them in again doesn’t work. I’m so frustrated, is there anything I can do?
What cameras are there that are able to record in any fps high and low.
For example choosing 1fps, 3fps, 13fps, 18fps, 22fps and so on..
Anyone have lens recommendations for sony a6000?
Recently I sold my Canon EOS R body, and I’m looking forward to upgrading it into a long term Sony partner. Until now I’ve done instagram reels for my school (yeah my school has ig) and also videos for local car guys in my city. But I want to get more serious, like starting doing commercials and smm for businesses, so I need proper gear. As you expect from a young highschool guy, my budget isn’t a lot, so when I first heard about this model A6700, I really got interested. It’s a compact, affordable camera body with a lot of useful features that for its price, it looks attractive. The only downside is that it has an APS-C sensor. And for many professional videographers, this would be a deal breaker. I thought about getting a full frame, like A7CII, but the problem is that it burns almost all my budget and I won’t really have money left for lenses, so I will have to save bucks for another few months to buy at least a fast prime lens like a 35mm.
I watched a lot of reviews, saying that it’s a beast camera, that it’s competing with top cameras like A7IV and A7CII, but most of them are from enthusiast perspective, which honestly it’s not quite helpful. Is there anyone here who worked with such a camera? What’s your opinion? Would you recommend it for client work? Thanks.
What is the camera? I'm guessing it's some kind of analog camera from the 1990s, but I don't have any closer information on what exact model it is. Can someone help? I found that model at this website - https://bazar.bg/obiava-41897446/fotoaparat-321-rabotesht
