r/PantiesDown is looking for mods

I am looking to add additional mods to the mod team at r/PantiesDown. I want to make sure this sub continues to grow and does not get shut down or suspended (as it has in the past), and one of the best ways to do that is to have several mods.

About the sub

r/PantiesDown is a NSFW sub where people post girls with their panties down. It has > 57K followers and is growing quickly. Most of what is posted there is porn, so you need to be okay with looking at lots of very NSFW material.

The sub sees quite a lot of OC posts these days, although posts are not required to be OC. Currently we are seeing about 5-10 posts a day, along with 1-2 spam posts that need to be removed. Having mods who will monitor the sub on a daily basis is a must.

Mod duties

Mod duty primarily consist of 1) making sure that posts follow the sub's rules and 2) dealing with spam. Our mods use reddit's mod queue to review and approve posts. If you aren't familiar with the mod queue, here is how it works.

What we are looking for

If you are interested in modding, here is what I am looking for:

  • Quality contributor on NSFW subs

It's a very strong plus if you yourself post high quality content on any NSFW subs. That shows me that you can understand what a sub is about and contribute to it in a positive way.

  • Long-term, frequent redditor.

Your account needs to be at least a year old. I want to know that you know how reddit works and that you use it quite frequently. A mod needs to login at least a few times a week to check on their sub! I also want to know you are likely to stick around long-term.

  • Prior mod experience.

This isn't a must, but if you already have some mod experience on other NSFW subs that wouldn't hurt.

What we're NOT looking for:

  • 'Power mods' on some kind of weird power-trip who just enjoy gatekeeping and banning people.
  • Mods who already mod like 50 other subs. If you have that many subs will you really have time to look after this one?
  • People who just want a platform to advertise their shit.

Trial period

The last couple of mods I added did not actually contribute to the sub and had to be removed. To avoid this in the future, new mods will undergo a 60 day trial period. The trial period is just to make sure you log in and perform mod actions on a fairly regular basis.

r/pantiesdown has over 50K subscribers and is growing fast. This is a great chance to mod a medium-sized sub that is likely on its way to being much larger. Once I feel comfortable with a mod, I like to give them plenty of freedom to do their thing.

If interested, PM me. Yes, I will look at your profile history, so be prepared for that.

r/SweatyPalms and r/WhyWomenLiveLonger looking for mods

Hi,

r/SweatyPalms and r/WhyWomenLiveLonger -- image-based subs -- are looking to add new moderators.

What we're looking for:

  • People who are willing to be active mods.
  • Required: Active Redditors.
  • Required: A Reddit account that's at least two years old with a minimum of 1,000 comment karma.
  • Required: A Discord account.
  • Preferred: Prior mod experience, but note: experience is not required.
  • Preferred: A Mod 101/201 trophy on your profile. But since Reddit stopped giving these out in ~September 2023, this won't be required.
  • Required, if you don't have a Mod 101/201 trophy: Completion of this course. (It only takes 15 minutes and will be obvious if you haven't completed it.)

Both of these subs are very active with several posts and many comments per day. Mod duties mostly include:

  1. Tending to the mod queue for rules violations (and taking action, as necessary).
  2. Reviewing submissions for appropriate fit with the sub and that it's not a repost.

If interested, please send a modmail to either r/SweatyPalms or r/WhyWomenLiveLonger (or both) that describes your moderating experience/mod training. If none, state none.

Please be aware, we will be reviewing your Reddit profile as part of our evaluation process.

Thanks.

r/vegetarian and r/vegetarianism looking for mods

Looking to add mods to r/vegetarian and r/Vegetarianism.

Generally speaking, applicants should be 18+, vegetarian (or vegan) have reliable access to Reddit, decent cooking and photography skills and a few hours a week to spare for moderator discussions/duties (this mostly involves overriding Automod and approving posts for users). Your Reddit account should be at least 2 years old and have a user history of participation in the in either subreddit, or subreddits which are of a similar nature (cooking, animal rights, etc.). We would like moderators to be able to answer questions about the topics.

If you are interested, please message the moderators for a link to complete our application/questionnaire. Please include "Moderator Application" in the subject. We occasionally meet on Discord and will conduct a final interview over voice chat, so if you have a username that you'd like to share, that would also be helpful.

Thanks!

TL;DR: We are still looking for a some more people (3-4) to join the team and help round out some of the busy times and cover for those of us who need some more flexibility for work, vacations and family time.

/r/worldbuilding (1.4 million) and /r/worldjerking (120k) looking for 5-6 new mods to join our combined team

Hi there!

This is an announcement that our two subreddits, /r/worldbuilding and /r/worldjerking, are both looking for several new mods! We're happy to take on as many qualified mods as needed to help our community grow and expand into additional areas.

Applications will be open until 11:59 PM UTC on Sunday, May 12th.

You can apply using our form, found here: https://forms.gle/dZnzBYYdBpp1QYPC8

About the role

The Worldbuilding Network team manages not just this subreddit, but also r/worldjerking, r/nsfwworldbuilding, and our Discord server. A new moderator will start off moderating the sub but will have opportunities to expand to other parts of the network if that is of interest to them.

The r/worldbuilding moderators perform a variety of duties, including:

  • Removing off-topic posts and spam from the subreddits.
  • Removing comments and posts that break our subreddit rules
  • Adding flairs and OC-tagging to posts.
  • Investigating and resolving reports from users and our automated moderation tools.
  • Responding to modmail regarding user concerns and questions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Developing policies and rules that keep the subreddit running smoothly, efficiently, and at the quality our users have come to expect.
  • Working with Reddit Administration to ensure that the subreddit is in compliance with Reddit’s site-wide rules.
  • Managing and moderating our affiliated IRC and Discord chat services.
  • Managing activities, such as competitions and spotlights, across our platforms.
  • Ensuring a constant tone and moderation across the entire worldbuilding network.
  • Creating and maintaining automated moderation tools, messaging, and bots to streamline the moderator workflow.
  • Developing CSS code and other graphical improvements for the subreddit.
  • Whatever else happens to get thrown at us.

Requirements

You do not need to have any previous moderation experience to apply, though any previous leadership or moderation experience will help. Here's a list of our current requirements for incoming mods. If you do not meet these requirements, your application will likely be rejected unless you stand out in some exceptional way.

  • You must have an active Reddit account that is at least 6 months old.
  • You must be willing and able to use Discord, as we use our Discord to coordinate moderator activities across the network.
  • You must be a user in good standing on r/worldbuilding. Previous warnings or bans, even if not active, may be considered detrimental or disqualifying.
  • You must complete the Google application at the top of this post. The more in-depth you can make your responses to it, the better!

OF SPECIAL NOTE:

We're especially in need of moderators from non-American time zones, as we lost half our non-American mods (either due to resigning or relocating!) about two years ago and still haven’t plugged that gap. So we're a bit short-handed when it comes to European, African, Asian and Oceanian mods. So, if you're from one of these regions (or have unusual waking hours!) and are on the fence about applying, we strongly encourage you to toss your hat in!

r/dragrace needs mods

This sub has four mods who have abandoned the sub. Two of them appear to have left Reddit all together. One of the others hasn’t been active in the sub in a over a year… and the last mod has gone MIA for a while now.

There have been multiple call outs to the mods over the past weeks because of the spike in harassment and racism. I myself even made a post asking them to step forward and just let us know they were still active, and they haven’t.

You can see in the post that everyone else agrees that the mods need to be replaced, and there are even volunteers! I myself do not want to be a mod, I’ve done it before and it’s not for me. I do however want to get this sub cleaned up, so I’m the one spearheading it.

The sub isn’t too big or complex, it’s mostly self-sustaining. It really just needs a couple of people with the ability to kick out the occasional trash, and handle modmail.

u/AlwaysSunnyDragRace and u/MadloveADB have already said that they would like the opportunity. I believe that having two actually present people would be enough to keep the sub running… especially since it’s been running without! I’m sure the two of them would be more than sufficient, so then all we really would need to have you all do is transfer the access.

Please let us know how we need to proceed from here.

Thanks.

r/tinysubredditoftheday needs mods

r/tinysubredditoftheday has been inactive for months and we need someone to go through modmail and find the small subs that seem interesting and choose the sub of the day. 3-5 Trauma Informed Mods Requested for r/CPTSDFightMode

r/CPTSDFightMode is looking for 3-5 mods (or more) to add to an existing mod group that is 2-3 folks moderating as they are able. Our goal in posting here is to:

  1. Increase the number of moderators to ensure the sub can continue to be a non-stigmatizing and compassionate processing space for people experiencing anger related to complex, often chronic trauma.
  2. Diversify the current moderator panel to better suit our growing and complex community -

We are approaching 10k members and our small team doesn't have the personal bandwidth required to ensure the care and maintenance for our users.

What We Want:

WHAT: Ideally, we require daily moderation in two locations - the public facing subreddit, as well as a shared chat for members who wish to discuss Fight Mode topics further. The rules for the subreddit are meant to adhere to the larger network of CPTSD related subs, some of which we co-moderate. The chat we share is also subject to the same rules but can be trickier to moderate with a limited number of eyes and hands. Sub activity has been steadily increasing with no sign of slowing. We have had quality concerns brought up (rightfully so) and have turned on the harassment filter and crowd control moderation options. We are lucky to have a vocal user community that will engage with us when we request feedback. Increasing our mod head count will help us engage more effectively.

Still reading? Still interested? Right on.

Interested applicants should send us a modmail with the following info:

  • Let us know why you'd like to mod for the CPTSDFightMode sub.
  • Please share what you think the CPTSDFightMode sub is about, in just a sentence or two.
  • Describe any experience you have with moderating subreddits [or relevant work in similar physical/digital community spaces].
  • Questions you have for us about the sub, our rules, or the work.

Thank you for considering being part of the expansion of our small team!

r/life is looking to add a couple of new mods to our team (80k sub)

r/life is an 80k established sub that is growing quickly and we need to expand the mod team to keep up. The sub is dedicated to the topic of life, and we get a wide variety of posts that range from teenagers looking for advice as they start into adulthood (we get a LOT of posts from teens), adults looking for advice on career opportunities, heavy topics on god, religion, and the purpose of life, people looking for ways to improve their quality of life, and general topics that are people trying to navigate life and the hurdles it can present.

What we are looking for:

Someone who can scan the subs feed and ensure that there are no posts that break the subs rules. (We tend to get at least a few posts per day that break the rules of self-promotion, money requests, and spam). While we have a robust automod that catches most of the problematic posts, some due manage to get through. So we try and look through the subs feed a couple times per day to make sure nothing is there that shouldn't be.

While the comment section isn't too wild, we do get trolls and personal attacks that need to be removed.

Recently, there has been a big increase in posts that are negative in nature. For example, users who are struggling with depression, life isn't going how they expected it to, money struggles, careeer issues, etc. It can be a lot and can bring you down if you let it, so we need someone who isn't going to get discouraged or find the subject matter too "heavy". Not trying to scare anyone off, but want to be upfront about the tone of the sub. We would love to have more positive posts, we get do get plenty of them. But as goes life, so do the struggles of life, and that seems to be what we get more of.

Mod experience is not necessary, we will gladly show you the ropes!

What we are NOT looking for:

Respectfully, no sub collectors or power mods.

Someone who will NOT mod with bias. We get topics that can be triggering and we want the users to have discussions that are not censored based on a mods personal beliefs. We only remove content that breaks sub rules or the Reddit Content Policy, if it doesn't break either of these, it stays up unless we feel it is going to cause issues to the sub or its users.

If you are interested, please comment below or send me a DM. Happy to answer any questions anyone might have.

r/TheSims is looking for a couple of moderators to join the team!

Looking to add one or two moderators to the team in r/TheSims, an active community with over 600k members. The community is fairly easy to moderate, we just need a bit more elbow grease in maintaining a clean queue, removing posts for rule and guideline violations, and taking action against piracy/illegal content.

Expectations:

  • Experience moderating active, large communities.
  • General availability a couple of hours per day (doesn't need to be consecutive.)
  • Discord presence, as this is our best and easiest method of communicating with each other.
  • An avid Sims player OR gamer in some capacity.

I am looking for assistance with r/EbonyPee.

The subreddit isn't super busy and rarely has any modmail or modqueue items so it's a good role for more of a novice mod to learn modtools and such.

If you're interested in the content and wish to assist with daily moderation tasks, please let me know.

r/SolsRNG, a quickly growing subreddit, needs mods.

To apply, send a modmail to r/SolsRNG answering the following questions:

  1. Do you have experience moderating?

  2. If so, where? If not, do you think you know how to moderate?

  3. Why should we pick you over others?

  4. Do you understand that you can't remove posts because you don't like them/find them annoying/are criticizing you or the subreddit unless it is hate speech?

  5. Do you play Sol's RNG?

  6. What platform are you using Reddit on?

  7. Do you understand this will purely be a no-pay job?

  8. Have you read the rules of r/SolsRNG?

  9. Lastly, is there anything else we should know? (Optional)

Your input will most likely be reviewed in a week or less.
