Advice?

Hi! After years and years of having "chronic fatigue" and doctors having no idea why, I bought myself a full thyroid panel. They had checked my thyroid before but not the full panel. My results were that my T4 (thyroxine) is low. What does this mean? What do I do now to help it?

Can castor oil pack wraps be dyed 100% cotton?

I want to start castor oil wrapping and I was wondering if I can repurpose a uniform that dyed dark blue and use it as a wrap? I noticed a lot of what is available is white or tan.

Oregano oil, diarrhea?

I fed my 15 month old half a teaspoon of water infused with oil of oregano to treat a persistent cold and within minutes of ingesting it she had diarrhea. (In addition to the cold she's recovering from a stomach flu.)

I got the remedy from a local herbalist and am not sure about the ratio of oil vs water, but it's supposed to be suitable for children and I trust this herbalist.

Anyway, my daughter seems fine, the cold symptoms are receding and she doesn't seem to have a tummy ache, but I do wonder if I need to be more careful with the oil of oregano? Does anyone have experience with this?

Found a fantastic natural heartburn/acid reflux remedy!

Looked at the bag of one of the natural remedies you could buy and tried to use what I had, found this successfully worked for me in less than 5 minutes.

Vinegar (I used red wine) and some filtered water to dilute
Honey Vanilla extract (pure) Fresh ginger (I grate frozen fresh ginger keep) And fresh garlic

Has worked consistently so far! Worth a try, and probably a lot better for those with sodium restrictions instead of baking soda!

Hidradenitis Suppurativa

So I was diagnosed with HS about 3 years ago. I'm not really sure what has happened but I very rarely get flares up in my armpit. I haven't really don't anythibg different to my diet to make it happen less frequently. However when I do get a flare up it's pretty bad because I also have diabetes. What I tend to do since it's rare for me to get a flare up is ill go urgent care or the dermatologist and get an injection to reduce the swelling and be put on antibiotics.

I hate taking pills and I don't want to go to urgent care every 3 months when I have a flare. I want something I can do consistently to prevent them from happening at all. I'm planning on going to a Chinese herbalist to help with this as well but I was wondering if you had any advice or things that are easily accessible for me to get in the meantime at the supermarket.

Deodorant Alternative

Hi there everybody, I was just wondering what I could use instead of regular deodorant, I have sensitive armpits so the regular stuff makes my armpits burn, I have used "Native" and it works great, I can't get it locally (I live in Mexico and there's no store that sells it) and I use up one bar super quickly, I have transitioned to an "Alum Bar" and it has worked great so far but as soon as I work up the tiniest sweat I start smelling horrible (sometimes I don't even have to work up a sweat and I all of a sudden smell), I have also used "Alovera" as a deodorant but it just didn't work all that grate

Period help

I am in need of any help or insights. I am 24 and have had extremely painful cramps/periods since I got my period in middle school. I often have to leave work when I get my period, which is becoming an issue. My cramps are so painful I become dizzy, light headed, begin vomiting, diarrhea, etc. It can go on for hours and hours. I take pamprin/midol, but it only helps sometimes. I have also recently been doing castor oil wraps at night, taking Mary Ruth’s women’s wellness and menstrual support, and tried the brand “Somedays” cramp cream. Nothing helps besides sitting in scalding hot water. I am not on birth control and don’t want to be. I haven’t had good experiences with it. Please help!

I made rosemary and clove extract and would love to know how to use it for hair growth

I made a rosemary and clove extract by soaking these two things in 100 proof alcohol for 6 weeks. Here's my problem: Google is fckin stupid. We can't BOTH be stupid. Yet every time I Google how to use EXTRACTS and TINCTURES on my scalp it brings up 11 billion links for "how to use rosemary OIL on your hair". WHY. An extract and an oil are different things. Am I wrong?? Anyway, can anyone tell me how to use alcohol based rosemary and clove extract on my scalp and hair so I don't make myself go bald? I just want the hair growth benefits of these two ingredients without making my hair oily. I just need to know the how and the how much and the how kind. Please help me 😩

Dry hair/ split ends remedies?

Usually coconut oil helps my hair grow long and moisturizes it very well. But lately I don’t know if it’s actually drying it or just not working very well like it usually does :( :’(. Maybe because it’s winter time or because I don’t heat the coconut oil up a bit before putting it on my hair. I’m not sure but my hair is pretty dry right now, I have wavy curly hair medium to long length. It gets frizzy winter time especially but it usually doesn’t get this dry, I have different hair products though they aren’t as natural probably, not sure if to stick only to one hair product instead of using multiple / switching them around in the week.

Looking for a good parasite cleanse

I've been dealing with a lot of GI issues, as well as overall bad health, and a friend suggested I do a parasite cleanse. I have no idea how this works. Do I need to take different medications to kill different parasites? Is there a vitamin /supplement I can take that kills most commonly found parasites? What's the best bang for your buck concoction I can take for this?

Tallow, and oil serums

Hey, So I'm trying to find "natural" skin care. Just started using beef tallow and have made an oil serum from my face with jojoba, sweet almond, rosehip oils with a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oils.

Do these sound like they could work. Can I use them together? I really don't know. I have such dry but acne prone skin I don't want to make anything worse.... I'm new to all of this. I work outside a lot so trying ti maintain my skin is very difficult.

Any pointers would be very much appreciated if anyone else has any experience with the above!? Cause I'm so sick of expensive skin care that actually seems more damaging in the long run than beneficial.

Thanks in advance xo

How do you use Borage Oil?

Hello,

I recently purchased borage oil from Mountain Rose herbs due to it having multiple aids for kideny issues, pms, and gum issues. On the bottle, it is listed as a carrier oil but it also has the nutrition facts listed. Is this safe to consume or should it only be applied externally? Any help is appreciated!

migraines with vomiting , excess mucus ?

i have no time to look into this deeply :( someone i met has reoccurring severe migraines which cause him to throw up for hours at a time. he’s gotten seen by a doctor & prescription for this but not the type of person to always trust that honestly. especially because this is ongoing. he eats very very poorly for 27 years straight. he tells me the doctor told him this is something related to mucus in his body. i remember from dr.sebi excess mucus sitting in your body leads to chronic disease or something to that nature. i’ve looked into this on other subreddits and it seems very normal. i have never so much as had a headache in my life so im unsure. but it really freaks me out his brain pain is causing him to throw up !!? & he acts like he is seriously in an excruciating amount of pain. his eyes are also scarily bloodshot. does anybody have any ideas about this whatsoever. im trying to work on healthier habits for him just generally. but anything specific will be amazing THANK YOU thank you for taking the time to read this if u did :) & thanks for any help!

Natural Remedy for pimples, bug bites, redness, and skin irritation

This is my first post that I’ve been meaning to do for years, but I’m not one to post, & suffer from chronic nerve pain, itch, & insomnia. So it’s taken me a while to just go ahead and do it. If you suffer from chronic pain/fibromyalgia like me I recommend using TENS units & 5% lidocaine cream (by Curist). Only things that have helped me. But anyway, I’ve wanted to share in some forum that the best remedy for pimples, redness, or bug bites is PATCHOULI SOAP!!!

It literally works wonders & I’ve never seen anyone post about it. When you Google remedies a lot of other stuff comes up, but never PATCHOULI SOAP. I learned this bcuz I also have eczema & it’s supposed to help. But it can be a little drying, so you have to use it in tandem w/lots of lotion. I was also prescribed Mometasone cream and that helps a bit too. Anyway, you can buy a bar at Whole Foods, an herbarium, or online. It's not expensive at all (around $10). Just wet your finger with water, rub the bar of soap, rub it on your skin, & let it dry. Just give it a few hours & you will notice a reduction. Repeat a couple times a day until it’s completely gone. It’s literally a magic miracle worker. Takes the itch away quickly. Smells a little like dirt, which isn't that bad, and it goes away when dry. I wish I had a bigger platform to tell the whole world. SERIOUSLY TRY IT & YOU’LL BE AMAZED! I know I sound like a hippie promo add, but I have been using it for several years and it works. No lie. There's a long list of other things it can help with too, it's crazy. Look it up!

Other remedies that have always actually worked for me are Arnica Cream for bruises (which is slower to work, takes about a week, but reduces healing time), Nizoral Shampoo for dandruff (at Target), and if you have red eyes from irritation like chlorine from swimming, just put a drop of Milk in your eye/s and it will take away the redness and irritation in a couple hours. I know it sounds weird and ppl always say "What?!! Ewww!", but it actually works really well. My mom has used it for my siblings and I since we were little and went swimming a lot.

So if you want fast relief from pimples, red bumps, and bug bites, try this and it will vastly improve and reduce itch. Every time my boyfriend or I get a pimple or bug bite I yell out- Patchouli Soap!! It's cheap, fast, easy, and it actually works. Hope this helps even just one person, cuz itch is maddening. Trust me, I've been plagued with it on a molecular level in my nerves for years. Again, TENS units saved me. I'm much better now, but it's a battle. No amount of acupuncture, medications, PT, or even ketamine infusions helped. Tell everyone you know, this stuff works!!
