Moving to Muskegon in the summer and trying to find a place to live. Are the Nelson/Nims area a good and safe place to live?
Is there anywhere we can catch some live music in Muskegon/surrounding area this weekend?
Hey y'all, I'm currently living over in Grand Rapids, have been looking for a home to purchase and recently started expanding my search to include Muskegon area as well, but I don't really know much about the area, what to expect, what kind of neighborhoods they are, etc.
I'm hoping to find one of those "quiet, good place to raise a family" type neighborhoods, even though I'm a single, introverted, child-free, professional individual not looking to raise a family. Thanks for any feedback you can give!
I’m looking for farm stands with eggs in particular. We never manage to get to the Farmers markets on Saturday mornings unfortunately. And would like another source. We’re newer to the area.
I’d appreciate any recommendations! Thank you!
Long shot here, but the other day on the radio the DJ (I don't know the station or DJ) mentioned having a "vision" (or something) about visiting 833 Olive St in Bloomington, IN.
Does anyone know what station and/or what DJ this was.
I'd be interested in contacting him...
I made boneless ham, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, dressing and green bean casserole all homemade. I have a ton left. If anyone is hungry let me know and bring your own container to fill up.
Going to be in Muskegon for Black Friday and I’m looking for the best deals in town for weed. I’ve searched online but its been too annoying and I’m a lazy stoner and figured I’d ask yall. Thanks!
Does anyone know the process for going to the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Small family of 3 mom, dad (not married but is father of child), child (3). No judgement please just life lifing. Or any other suggestions we just need a little help getting back on our feet.
Just ordered takeout from what used to be Egg Roll House and it’s not at all like what it used to be. That whole “we’re just adding a few Thai dishes to the current menu” was a lie. 😫😫😫😫 A Muskegon institution has died. RIP Egg Roll House
Under the new plan, a daily parking pass for non-residents would cost $20 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, $10 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and passes would be free on Wednesdays. The plan also calls for people to be able buy a season pass for $40. Muskegon residents will still get free beach parking passes.
I'm 30 and I have limited work experience due to disability. I apply for jobs and I rarely get called back. I'm autistic. I have an art degree, but I don't get nearly enough work to even scrape by and I'm tired of living with my parents. I don't know how to drive, I never had money for driver's training and my parents bitched about me wanting to learn how to drive when I was younger because of car insurance reasons. Lots of jobs require you to have a driver's license and sometimes your own car.
I have joint inflammation in my hips sometimes and I have ulcerative colitis, and it would be nice to get a job that is light on physical labor and I can go to the bathroom whenever. I'm immunocompromised because of my medication, and the fewer people I have to work with in a small space, the better.
It's not that I don't want to work or I'm lazy, nobody wants to hire me because of my inexperience and disabilities. It's so painful to be this old and not living an independent life. I really need help.
I'm in a work rehabilitation program, I don't know what that is going to get me. I'm really intelligent and I can read at a normal adult level and I'm insanely good at organizing stuff and being helpful, I'm just a little autistic.
Tonguecutter, Phantom, Fedayken & Phasing. Doors at 8 pm, just $5!
Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the outcome of the current negotiations between Aetna and Trinity Health?
I’d been holding out hope until today that they would come to an agreement but the latest email from Trinity didn’t inspire much confidence.
I’ve spent most of the day trying to find a primary care doctor accepting both new patients and Aetna and I’ve managed to find 2 within an hour drive.
We would like to help out song older children who would probably get passed by for the younger kids. Where would be a good resource to find a place locally? Thanks
Hi Muskegon! I’m looking for recs on pediatricians that are liked a lot! I’m not a fan of my daughters current one, I’ll be having a new baby in January and I plan on switching my daughter to the new one I find for this baby. Thanks everyone!! Oh we are on Medicaid.
Everyone has different experiences in their education journey. What are some things that you wish you were taught in middle or high school? I always remember people saying they wish they learned how to do taxes.
On quarterline south of sternberg rd. Massive construction site. Apartments? Suburb? Something else? I know it's not costco yet 😢
Hey all,
I tried to ask this in the Michigan subreddit, but it got taken down. I'm trying to figure out whether I should keep attending my current college or not.
I began taking college classes at American Military University while I was still active duty. I'm about halfway through my bachelor's degree in supply chain management right now. I'd like to finish my degree, but I don't know how well employers will take a degree that says "American Military University" on it. Maybe they will see it as a faux degree. Should I cut the loss and transfer to an in-state college or just continue pursuing my degree at AMU?
sorry, i am just not sure where to ask. im new to reddit altogether. is there any churches locally that are progressive / liberally leaning? dont be immature and start saying garbage i just want a community & its so insanely lonely. i know its a struggle around here lol thank u
edit: u guys r super helpful tysm !!! preciate it :)
I just bought two tonight. It is the Meijer brand, but I've baked them before. They were good. They come in different sizes. I almost forgot. They have 5lbs bags of russet potatoes for 99 cents too. If I find any more good deals, I'll share them with you all.
Are there any kids, high schoolers that want to earn money doing yardwork in Norton Shores? My father broke his femur and my mother is super stressed.
Hiii, there's a free tree identification event at the Duck Creek Natural Area this weekend with Fruitland Trails and the Land Conservancy of West Michigan.
