I live in grand haven, and work remotely for a company based out of Grand Rapids.
Does Grand Haven have city taxes?
When I lived in GR, I had to pay Grand Rapids city tax.
Thank you in advance!
Hi everyone! I’m exploring an idea to give back to my community by offering a free, home-cooked meal once a month as part of my personal 10% “offering.” I’d cook a big meal and serve it until the food runs out.
A few things I’d like your input on:
Comfort Levels: I have pets at home but am willing to cook in a pet-free home if I can find one. Would this make you more comfortable? I also live in a mobile home in riverhaven. My cats are not allowed on counters at all due to it being such in open space and my love for cooking and bread making.
Ingredient Labels: Should I provide full ingredient lists for transparency, even though the meal is free?
Kitchen Suggestions: Does anyone know of a low-cost, pet-free kitchen I could rent for $50-$100 for an hour? I’d happily share a meal with the owner!
Liability: Should I look into insurance or have a waiver that needs to be signed prior: stating something along the lines of (the meals are home-cooked and free, and I am not liable for any issues that may arise (allergies, etc.)
I consider myself a clean person, but I would like to hire a professional to deep clean everything on the day of cooking for an extra layer of cleanliness.
I’m also open to any tips to make this as safe and welcoming as possible. Thanks in advance for your feedback!
I've been trying to think of the name of a prior restaurant just north of the State Police post on Beacon. They may have been a franchise, but they used to do trivia. Typical american-fare I believe. I'm not sure if the building still exists or was torn down with something replacing it.
Does anyone in this sub know what or where the high pitched ringing noise is coming from? It goes off as odd hours of the night and early Am. You can hear it downtown even more
Scum
Hello! My family is moving to Grand Haven (we've been visiting for years) and I'm curious if there are any good options for fiber internet? We had Charter/Spectrum here for a bit but that was a terrible experience so we're hoping to avoid them.
Just to give an idea, where we are now a competitor moved in and we've got 1G minimum in home, mirrored, at $40 a month with zero issues for the last year.
What I could find online so far looks like the best we can get in GH is Spectrum at 1G max (likely just to the tap like how we had here before), not mirrored, for $70 a month. Is there anything else?
Hi. I am needing an immigration attorney.. Any contact or information would be very helpful
Looking to get a great holiday gift for someone who lives in the area. Are there any nice spas or tickets to events/experiences that you would recommend?
Thanks in advance!

I’m visiting and would love to find a dark area to do some sky watching. Does anyone have any recs? Thank you!
Does anyone know where I can find one of these signs in Grand Haven or the surrounding area? Thanks!
Hello! I’m visiting Grand Haven for the next couple weeks. I’ll also be in Spring Lake.
Any must dos? My preferences • non touristy. I love to check out local/small businesses • I love food, art, being by the water, painting outside and walking the dog (preferably by the water). Also music and places to just sit and read and enjoy the water. Nature lover. •Historic/small town downtowns to walk around. •would love to find a good tea shop (vs coffee) and an art gallery/museum. I love to support local artists. •fun, funky, laid back
Thanks a million! (I LOVE Lake Michigan)
I was on Instagram the other day and came across an image of Green Day playing in Ferrysburg. Little did I know the rabbit hole I got into… by a simple search, I came across a place where punk bands played in Ferrysburg called the Animal House through their Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/p/1990-Animal-House-Shows-100067658525796/ This took place in 1990 (90s?), and held lots of gigs where punk bands from California played. As a Michigander interested in the punk scene, this intrigued me. In little old Ferrysburg? How did I not know about this? I also found a confusing bit of information, claiming that it was a skate park and immediately thought of William Ferry Park, but I doubt it would be out in the open like that. My speculation changed when I saw a hand drawn map of directions on Facebook, and it looked to be in the same area as the park. Where was this? What bands played there? If anyone has any information at all, please tell me.
Hello! My partner and I are looking into moving to the area in several months. He works remote so good reliable internet service is a must! Do you all have reliable internet?
Heads up if you're looking to rent a space - the city of Grand Haven will rent this space out from under you. So if you have an event from 5pm-9pm, don't expect to come in early to decorate because they will rent it to someone else right up to 5pm.
The staff at the building try their best, but the city only cares about money and not client experience.
Hello! I'm new to the area, and need some recommendations for an affordable reliable mechanic to take my car to. Thanks!
