I'm looking for black or death metal albums that have predominantly dual guitar harmony riffs. That is, when both guitars play lead parts at the same time. And by predominantly, I mean they have to constitute the majority of the music, not just little random sections. Please, please, must have these:
• a more trad metal feel, not lots of tremolo, no dissonance, and no groovy riffs.
• a sharper guitar note, nothing too bassy or chunky.
• no rhythm guitar playing under the melodies. Both guitars have to be playing a lead part simultaneously. This is non negotiable, if it has chords under the melodies, I don't want to hear it.
• minimal or no blast beats at all. I know this is a bit more beyond the guitar work, but it's also really important.
• I guess this should go without saying, but the music has to be melodic.
Some examples of what I'm looking for:
Opeth - Orchid
Ophthalamia - A Journey in Darkness
Katatonia - Dance of December Souls
In Flames - Lunar Strain
Garden of Shadows - Oracle Moon
Dreichemere - Despair the Withered Shadows
Autumn Requiem - As I Beheld the Blazing Glory of the Rising Dawn
Fall of the Leafe - Storm of the Autumnfall
I know this is super specific and it's likely there isn't much else like what I'm looking for, so thanks in advance!
Check out the new album of cerebral miasma, a tech death band from Mexico 🤟🏻
Hi! As we all know Metal is steoretipicaly known by its antyChristian/Satanic lyrics and atmosphere. AntyIslamist albums become more popular. But I haven't really heard about antyJudaic or antyDrahmic metal. Do you know any?
And, no. No antysemitic bands. There is a difference between antireligius an antysemitic.
Thanks in advance
Dreadful Autumn by InCryptidForm. If anyone wants the lyrics I’ll post them in the comments
This is a song from the bands latest album 'Blinded By The Violence' (2023). Heavy and dark metal with clean vocals from Norway.
Connect The Circle have recently recorded a new album called 'Wolf In The Sky' and the first single will be released early 2025. On the new album Baard Kolstad from Leprous/Rendezvous Point is taking care of the drum duties.

For context, the first DM band I actively listened to was Nile. I'm not new to DM but also not exactly familiar with the genre. I have a vague idea that there is a subgenre called slam DM which includes a lot of metalcore influence, I'm not looking for that. It's just if I listen to the classics, Morbid Angel up until Domination, Deicide up until Once Upon A Cross, it just sounds like Possessed with slightly more abrasive vocals. Basically extreme thrash metal with scary melodies. But apparently the records before that were those who defined the genre. Help me understand please and give me recommendations of bands that transcend thrash and don't do weird gimmicks like OOOOOH SCAAAAAARY WE'RE IN THE EGYPTIAN UUUUUHNDERWOOOOOOORLD RRRRRRRAAAAAAH. Don't get me wrong, I love Nile, I'd just like to hear a more mundanely creepy approach.
Any good sludge or crust punk recommendations? Bands like acid bath, eyehategod or dystopia?
Hey so my friend wants to learn better Spanish and a way we thought of learning was through music so are there any good Spanish metal albums, preferably South American and Peruvian but any Spanish dialect will do. Subgenre doesn't matter
Happy 32nd Birthday to Atrocitys Todessehnsucht 🤘🔥
Personally, I’m looking for older metal songs with higher-pitched vocals, kinda like The Sound Of Perseverance by Death. Any recommendations?
Need new recommendations because it feels like I'm listening to the same bands over and over and need something new. I LOVE Metallica because of the riffs, catchy choruses and James' voice has me melting.
A big thing for metal songs with me is the voice, I just want someone who has a nice voice and also the catchy choruses make it more enjoyable. An example of a "catchy chorus" song is psychosocial by slipknot.
Some metal songs and albums I really love are (sic) by Slipknot, basically the whole ride the lightning album by Metallica, King nothing by Metallica, the whole Rust in peace album from Slipknot, Here to Stay by Korn, (I basically like almost every Metallica song so I'm not bringing them up again), whole around the fur album by Deftones, Think by Drowning Pool, Hate by Drowning Pool (THESE ARE BANGERS), I fucking hate you by Godsmack, Say my name by Godsmack, Hatefuck by Motionless in White, What if by Creed, Angry again by Megadeth, Dead as shit by Sanguisugabogg, Bored by Deftones, Ronald by Falling In Reverse, Horror Business by Misfits, Wasteland by Wargasm and We die young by Alice in Chains.
I'll listen to almost anything, sometimes it's just specific songs that I love but there can be a song similar to it that I don't like. Sorry for being difficult <3
Basically what the title says, I’ve been listening to the same basic nu metal stuff since I was like ten and want a bit of a change. Underground and popular bands are ok, but I already listen to stuff like slipknot and Korn, and I do like them but I’m looking for music simpler to theirs but isn’t theirs. I apologize if my music taste is a bit bland lmao
specifically the type of scream he does mixed with the heavy songs https://open.spotify.com/track/0AaMXUOoIwmndbodurWcBg?si=b7ad4138dad3487b
Vola is incredible. Give it a shot? So calming, yet so creative just in the drums!
Basically what the title says. Extreme metal albums, be they black or death metal, that have riffs characteristic of Thin Lizzy's style: dual guitar harmonies. It'd also help if they kept the hard rock feeling by not having too many blast beats or tremolo picking, and ideally none at all.
Some examples of what I'm looking for would be: In Flames - Lunar Strain, Garden of Shadows - Oracle Moon, Opeth - Orchid, and Fall of the Leafe - Storm of the Autumnfall.
I'm looking for an album cover that had a nude gypsy woman on the cover. I thought it was by Coroner, but I was mistaken. It had a very similar album cover style. If anyone knows who it was by or the name of the album, thank you in advance
It can be a smaller band I just want the heaviness and the drive these bands have and for them to sound good.
possibly rock or metal (any subgenre, but CLEAN, not growls)
heyy! i'm slowly getting into metal and i'd like some recommendations of bands you think everyone should know. these are some that i've been liking (i know they are a mix of different metal genres hahha) bmth (we go way back), silent planet, knocked loose, sleep token, static dress, mayhem... to name a few
