AAMC Full Length 2 Cars Question 1 Help

Basically I choose C but the correct answer is A. I understood the general idea as clinical medicine and evidence-based MUST work together to be effective.

I was 50/50 between A and C but ultimately choose C because I felt A was just mentioned at the start and was not a big part of what the other said near the end. Just super confused and looking for some help to fix my logic! Thanks :)

So I got a 491 on AAMC FL 1 Dec. 19th 2024, and I got a 490 on a TPR test Jan 10th 2025. Testing 4/5.

Please tell me if it’s possible.

Advice for when to schedule my MCAT

Hey guys, I was wondering when the best testing time for admissions for Fall of 2026 would be. I wanted to schedule my date for July 20th (because I wanted as much time to prep as I could), but would that be too late a date for medschools? I already started content review, but I just want to be as safe as possible.

100th percentile?

Anything from 524-528 is considered 100th percentile, but obviously this is rounded up from 99.5 and up (can’t be in the top 0% of scorers, would have to be top 0.1% or something). Does anyone know the exact percentages for these scores?

How to get better at Chemistry????

I need help, I figured out physics to some extent, and the orgo material we need to know for this test isn't too bad; BUT THE CHEMISTRY IS KILLING ME!!!

I've had A's in chem 1 and 2 in undergrad and i've gone through all the material for it by watching countless videos about it and maturing the JS chem deck. its just whenever I need to apply that info during the test my brain just starts buffering, and I can't recognize an acid from a base. i've been doing uw questions and it feels like it helps even tho I get only around 50% on it.

any advice?

Needs tips after taking my FL

So i took my first FL the AAMC unscored. I did Mr. Pankow anki and read the kaplan books, then I did 59% of Uworld. I'm honestly not sure where to go from here with the C/P section, pretty devastated with it.

I felt like I couldn't understand the passages for C/P and I was having a hard time with timing myself, i ended up putting Bs on like the last 25 questions because I had 5 min left. Would appreciate any tips!

How can I minimize the amount of time I’ll have to study when I take the mcat if I’m in first year right now?

Basically, what do you wish you had done when you were in first year to prepare for the mcat? I’ll probably be taking summer courses and working full time while studying for the mcat so I’m concerned

Does my plan sound good?

Hello everyone, Im looking for some opinions and suggestions on my plan for my MCAT. Some background about me is that I took my pre reqs a while back and did okay in them but definitely don’t remember much. I’m planning to test in late june and was going to do 3 months of content review followed by 2 months of pure practice.

For my content review I’m doing Kaplan chapter followed by JS Anki deck and Uworld questions for that specific chapter.

I’m also doing the daily Jack Westin cars passage and 40 Mr pankow p/s cards each day along with corresponding pages of the 300pg doc

Is this enough time to score around 503-508?

Time it takes for a FL

So I took my second FL today, and went from a 489 to a 496 (I test in April. I know that this is still low but I’m really excited abt the improvement.) Something I noticed is that I’m not taking very long to go through it? Like I finished my second one in a lil over 3 hours. I just feel like that’s way too quick and I’m doing something wrong, and maybe that’s the reason I’m starting out so low?

Cooked or Not

I took a diagnostic (FL 5) got 501, and since then I’ve only done content review, and I mean A LOT. No practice questions since then, I just took FL 2 and got a 509. If I do practice questions (test is 3/21) until then, will I be in better shape? 515+ is my hope.

Does the Jackwestin Extension Work for Vol 2 of the Aamc Questions

Hey there,

Hope you are all doing well!

I was wondering if anyone had any info on why when I use the Jack westin extension, it works for the Vol 1 AAMC material but doesnt work for Vol 2?

B/B

Hey guys,

So I started on the AAMC SBs and I am not doing so great on the B/B section. I find it significantly harder than C/P, and I think the main issue is trying to disect the passage. I tried watching youtube videos to help (i feel like mapping takes too much time idk).

I would love some advice. thanks

How representative are the BP exams?

For those of you that took the BP FLs, do you feel it translated well to your AAMC FLs or actual scores?

Also, their cars section feels really bad. Please tell me others feel this way too and that it isn't accurate to aamc performance 😭

Score increase after doing AAMC qpacks + section bank?

Hi everyone! After some practice tests, I’ve found that I desperately need to improve C/P and B/B lol. I’m set to test 3/8 as of now. Did any of you find that your score on AAMC FL’s increased after doing the QPacks and section banks? Trying to figure out if I should push it or tough it out and grind! Thank you!

C/P material approach

I am struggling with C/P. I either forget the equation entirely or I do the math wrong. I think I have a pretty solid foundation for all of the material but time after time I can’t do the calculations correctly or start them with the correct formula. Should I just rote memorize the formulas at this point and write all of them out for each question or should I go back again and learn the context of the formulas? I feel like I’m drowning in this shit and I have no way of improving.

Will my stats be okay?

Didn’t want to post this in r/premed because, well, you probably know why. I was just wondering if applying with a 510-515 MCAT (the minimum I’m hoping to get), 4.0 GPA as a double major in Bio Anth + Spanish, having ~100 hours of research, ~50 shadowing hours, and ~100 clinical volunteer hours would be reasonable enough to get me into med school. The school I’m applying to has an average MCAT of 508, average uni GPA of 3.87, and I’m already guaranteed an interview since I’m in-state. The latest I can apply is November 1st and if that’s the case I could easily get my volunteering and shadowing hours into the 200s over the summer, but idk if applying late or early affects chances of acceptance. What do you all think??
