Saw that Blackbridge was producing a rolling chassis with GM driveline, suspension mods, (aka better ride) brake and fuel system complete. Might be a good option for DIY. Does anyone have info or opinions?
Hey fellow Land Rover enthusiasts,
I’m having some serious issues with my Defender 110 TD5 (2005). Recently, it's been producing a lot of black and gray smoke from the exhaust, and I’ve also noticed it’s consuming motor oil at an alarming rate.
I’m not sure where to start diagnosing the problem. Has anyone experienced this before or have an idea of what could be causing this? I’d appreciate any advice or tips to get this sorted out.
Thanks in advance!
Looking forward to your thoughts.
Have the opportunity to buy a Twisted Defender 90. The car is a 1999, 4.0 V8. Had the full Twisted upgrade (suspension, steering rack, interior, etc)great condition. Dealer is saying this is as good as a defender resto mod gonna go. What’s your take?
Hey guys Ever since I bought this D90 I’ve been having problems with the rear speakers. it came with Meridian surround sound and whenever I play music and the volume is above 20 rear panels shake/rattle because of the bass and it’s extremely annoying. to me listening to music while driving is a huge deal. does anyone else have this problem or has anyone found a solution? I told the dealer about it they said the speakers are bad. they literally changed all the speakers [under the warranty] and no difference. and they said there’s nothing they can do about it.
Hello looking at buying a Land Rover defender 90 2001 what should I be checking for?
Hey everyone I’ve got a 1997 landrover defender and I’m looking to install apple car play, I got quoted $2200 to install a floating 10” screen and was hoping there was some cheaper options under $1000. This is my current dash and stereo system
Are there any auto body shops or garages with cool logos on merch in the US or UK? I'm looking for some gear
Hi was just looking for advice on any fixes to any of these issues or if anyone else has had similar problems. Started with the reverse light/wiper fuse blowing when putting the truck into reverse. The next thing to go was the fuse for the radio, that blows immediately now from out of the blue. And also my rear left brake light fuse will blow after about a minute.
Is there a ground somewhere that’s gone awol? Anyone have any ideas on next steps
Hi All, Hoping someone may have some advice on an intermittent A/C issue with my 2012 90 series. It works fine on a cold start but once the engine is up to temperature, the A/C starts to run warm. In essence:
My thinking was that because it blows cool under certain conditions, a re-gas wasn't necessary and maybe it was an issue with a compressor valve or sensor. Or that the compressor was slipping at higher RPM...
I've had an A/C tech look at it who's said the compressor is fine, the A/C circuit is running cool so there's no issue there but the issue will be "in the dash" with the air mixer unit. From what they've said, the only fix is to pull the whole dash out to see if "a flap has broken". To their credit, they didn't charge me for the diagnosis and said because they don't normally work on defenders they'd rather not start pulling the dash apart... Instead they've suggested I go back to the local defender mechanics who'd have some more experience on that part.
What I'd like to know:
Thoughts on using this in the LT230 mated to an R380 gearbox and 300tdi? (97 defender)
My Mexican brother in law has been given this vehicle in lieu of payment from a Spanish person. I live in Spain and it will live in my garage for a long time. I think I will be allowed to drive it occasionally. I haven't seen it personally yet. Please excuse my ignorance but I have no idea what model, year etc this is. I've done a bunch of googling and can't find anything pictures that match it.
Hi everyone,
I’m from Italy and have a 2005 Land Rover Defender 90. I’ve been trying to get it certified for the green sticker in Germany, but when I try on the official website, it says my car is too old. However, I’ve seen similar and even older Defenders in Berlin that are certified.
Can anyone explain how to get my Defender 90 certified, or why some older cars seem to be getting the green sticker while mine doesn’t?
Any advice on how to manage this situation would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
Question for the group! For those of you with newer defenders, do you have any negatives to share?
Note: I’m moving towards getting one, and can’t seem to think of anything I don’t like about them. But, would love to hear from people who’ve had them for a bit.
Hi there,
Is anyone going to this today? I’m going alone & i don’t really know what to expect!
