Updated User Flairs

The subreddit has now gotten updated user flairs for the Doosan Bears, Hanwha Eagles and SSG Landers.

Each team got their new emblem, wordmark and symbol. Hanwha got an extra one because they are using the Eagle symbol for their preseason hats.

Preseason exhibition games

I read (https://www.mk.co.kr/en/sports/11126950) that there would be spring exhibition games, but I do not see the games listed for ticket sales on the team calendars. How do I find out which games are on which days, and buy tickets?

KBO Spring Training US?

I saw that the KIA Tigers were in Irvine California training. Anyone know what other teams usually come by the west coast to train?

Hello from /r/KLeague

Hello baseball friends from r/KLeague

A while ago, I noticed that English Wikipedia articles on K League teams were left in a state of abandonment, with scarce information past the early 2010s. Our sub has been engaged in a successful ongoing project to update as many articles as possible on K League teams and other related topics. We updated them on their latest history, created new sections for club culture and facilities, added original pictures, etc.

KBO is of course the most popular sports league in Korea, even bigger than the K League, and I think its teams are deserving of great English Wikipedia articles with up-to-date information for an international audience. I don't know much about baseball, but it seems many articles on KBO teams lack substance. I think it would be interesting if this sub could also make similar efforts to create better pages for your beloved teams, players, and league.

If you choose to engage in this, I would happy to provide assistance.

Let me know your thoughts.

Byung-Hyun Kim Autograph

I've been trying to build a collection of autographs from the 2004 Red Sox Roster, Byung-Hyun Kim is one of them. I've looked high and low for an autographed baseball card and have only been able to find two that are on eBay. Unfortunately they're listed at $400 each and neither of them are on Red Sox cards. At this point I'd take anything but would definitely prefer them on a Sox card. Unfortunately $400 is out of my price range. I'm posting here in case someone has one kicking around or has some sort of idea as to where I could get something like that. I've even researched some "through the mail"/TTM sites to see if anyone has had luck with sending mail to BHK, but haven't had any luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know why these are so rare? Thank you!

Favourite KBO uniform ?

Mine is the navy Dinos one, loving that navy-light blue-gold combo. Wordmark is pretty cool as well, and the spikes on the sides make the overall look pretty unique. What's yours ?

Why did you become a fan of KBO ? Just curiosity

To start with me, My grandfather and mom have been huge fans of Lions since KBO was launched in 1982. My father is also a fan of Lions following my mom. So I became a fan of KBO and Lions naturally following them. What about you?

How Should I Start Watching Baseball as a Complete Rookie in 2025?

How Should I Start Watching Baseball as a Complete Rookie in 2025?

Hey everyone, hope you're having an amazing start to 2025!

I’m from Bangladesh 🇧🇩, and baseball isn’t really a thing here, but I’ve recently gotten super curious about the sport. It all started last month when I finished Ace of Diamond Season 1, and wow, that anime completely hooked me. It showed me the intensity, strategy, and teamwork behind baseball, and now I really want to dive deeper into it.

Here’s the thing—I’m a complete beginner. I don’t know the rules, strategies, or how the game flows. I’ve been trying out a mobile game called Baseball 9 (fun but confusing), and I’ve realized just how much I have to learn. I’m also super drawn to East Asian baseball, especially the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO). There’s something about the energy and fan culture in KBO that feels so vibrant and relatable to me.

That said, I’d still like to understand MLB since I know it’s the biggest stage for baseball. But starting with KBO feels like a better fit, especially since I’m new to the sport.

Here’s where I need some advice:

1. How can I learn the basics of baseball? Any beginner-friendly resources or guides would be awesome.

2. Where do I start with KBO? Are there specific teams, players, or rivalries that would make it easier to follow as a beginner?

3. MLB vs. KBO? What’s the biggest difference between the two, and should I keep an eye on MLB too?

4. How do I watch KBO games internationally? I’ve found a lot of MLB streaming info, but almost nothing about KBO.

5. Any advice for a baseball newbie? Whether it’s about understanding the sport or learning to appreciate it, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I’m excited to start this journey and stick with it. Baseball seems like such a fascinating and deep sport, and I can’t wait to discover more about it. Thanks in advance for your help!

National Team Uniform Sizing/Fit

To anyone who has purchased the natl team uniforms, how do they fit? Should I size up or down? I noticed that many NPB jerseys tend to run smaller, is it similar with Korean jerseys as well? TIA!

Do non-Korean viewers support a particular team?

I'm looking forward to watching my first KBO season in 2025. I'm from the UK, and don't have any ties to South Korea at all. Do any of you support a particular team, and if so, what is the reasoning behind it?

Or do you just watch it game by game without supporting anyone in particular?

Thanks

ISO Korean baseball team owned by my grandmothers uncle

Hey all! My grandfather recently passed and at his funeral we heard a story we never had about how my grandfather and grandmother met. While he was in the US military, stationed in Korea, my Japanese grandfather was apparently caught heckling a Korean team (owned by his future spouse-my grandmother-‘s uncle). This would’ve been in the 60s-70s in my estimation. This was a Korea v Japan game. My grandmothers name is min Chong cha. I’m hoping to gift a baseball card from the team to my father or grandmother but can’t seem to find much documentation on the East Asian sports scene in that era. Hoping Reddit can help!!!
