I'm not referring to the top scorer, but the player with the most dribbling and skills, magical player. a kind of Neymar, fun to watch
His Whole career basically spent playing for Ulsan Hyundai (owned by the car company I presume?) and has 7 caps for South Korea which is odd as he's 31 and apparently only just breaking into the national team so late bloomer I guess.
Our 2nd choice LB is out for the season so we did need a new one to cover Alex Cochrane so this would be fun plus we have Paik and the Korean girls in our ladies team to get him settled quickly
Basically, I'd like to look at the prices over a 10-year period. Photos of proof would be great, but I am having a hard time finding these myself.
How much did season tickets cost then vs now?
" " jerseys cost then vs now?
Without any info, I am going to guess Jeju has remained rather consistent over time. I just saw Daegu FC has two season ticket options, which don't include Korea Cup games, going for 550,000w and 700,000w. With 38 league games, 1/2 at home, isn't that more than what tickets would cost at the door?
A post on Instagram gave some of the slogans.
I'll not say much about the Korean Language slogans. They know better than I do how to play with their own language. (The Papago translations all seem fair):
These contain some non-Korean langauge and are fine:
And then the ones I openly laugh at:
Busan IPark - 최강 부산, Pride of Pusan (Strongest Busan...)
The team name has started with a B for more than 20 years already. Get with the times!
Cheongju - sing on for CHFC, Till i die
Someone forgoT To Take Their finger off the shifT key for a second.
And should WE sing for CHFC until YOU die? What if I get tired and stab you with my vuvuzela?
Ansan - Support your LOCAL CLUB
OKAY! I guess I'll support ANYANG then. Sheez!
Gyeongnam - WE ARE ROSES
So intimidating. Scary even.
Hwaseong - OUR FIRST CHALLENGE
Isn't the club more than 10 years old?
Why is Daejeon so good at producing promising talent and then selling them for pennies ASAP? Hwang, Bae, Yun. It seems they make little effort to keep their best players despite actually having the money to do so.
Wonder who? My guesses are Jeju and Daejeon. Two richer clubs that have been somewhat directionless for a while and could use a bump in brand awareness and attendance, especially for Jeju who rebranded recently.
Seoul seems unlikely considering we got a serious long-term project going on. Jeonbuk is looking at that Italian free agent and Ulsan got Heo Yool and Yago. Doesn't fit Pohang's typical moneyball signings either. Everyone else is publicly owned so very unlikely.
EDIT: Ulsan is reportedly not linked. Guess it'll be a marketing signing for Seoul.
I created the Wikipedia page for the K4 League's 2025 season. For those who expressed interest in attending matches at these nowhere grounds, there is a map and a table with the ground names.
* I need to confirm the Pyeongtaek Citizen grounds. There are two listed, one with a capacity of 12000, and one with 300. And they are not exactly next to each other. I'm waiting for joinKFA to update their information someday.
Hey guys, does anyone know whether the KLeague Brazil & Indonesia Instagram & Twitter pages are run by KLeague personnel? The official KLeague account doesn't follow the two, so I assume that they're not run by KLeague, but asking just in case someone knows for sure.
https://www.instagram.com/kleaguebrazil/
https://www.instagram.com/kleague_id/
Also I know KLeague has a separate official kleague intl Instagram, but NOT a Youtube, right? I've been searching and I can't find one, probably because it doesnt exist? Hopefully I'm not tripping. lol
Can anyone living abroad confirm whether the free streaming on the K-League TV website https://tv.kleague.com/ still worked as of the 2024 season? Visited the website myself and I can't figure out if it's not updated or if it just looks like that lol. it looks so out of date. Anyway And since there are no games now idk if they still provide frree streaming + I live in Korea where they don't provide the service anyway.
Any non-Korean KLeague fans/people who prefer to consume content in English? What kind of content would you guys like to see?
Personally, I consume KLeague content in Korean, but I got curious about how the KLeague markets itself globally so I checked... and there's not much unfortunately. I thought they'd at least have an English Youtube channel but theres nothing of the sort. They sometimes upload English videos, but their latest season recap in English doesnt include teams like Jeju, Gimcheon and Daejeon lol..
So I checked if there's anyone who covers the KLeague in English, and other than the KLeague United guys (who do a great job, dunno if theyre on Reddit), I don't really see anyone who regularly make content which is a shame.
As a personal self-development project, I've been planning on making an English K-League platform for a while. This is because 1. I want to develop real-life skills such as video editing, content planning, writing etc for my personal development and 2. I really like football and the K-League so I want to at least try to attempt to promote it, whether I fail or not, while I have some free time in my life. Since I can't promote it by playing it or coaching it, it's the next best thing I can do...
I have absolutely no wild dreams of becoming some star youtuber or something, I just want to make something tangible so I can look back and think I didnt waste my time post college graduation <> pre getting a job. So if Im gonna make a video, why not make something with some content even one or two people will be interested in, right?
Anyway, back to the original question.. What do you guys think is lacking from the KLeague socials? What kind of content would you like to see from them? Personally, Id like to see them create a separate english-specific channel and start from there... kinda like the JLeague International channel (which I think is also lacking, but that's another story)
I spent most of the day updating the [sub's wiki](https://www.reddit.com/mod/KLeague/wiki/index)
I still need to find links for WK League and the amateur leagues, but I need a break.
If anyone has any suggestions, feel free to message me.
Note: For the original writers of the original wiki, I saved the code/information and incorporated much of it into the new page. I feel we could do with new 2024 reviews (maybe) and 2025 previews (start fresh).
There are many reports that Andrea Compagno, an Italian striker who spent last year at Tianjin Jinmen Tiger in the Chinese Super League, is close to signing with Jeonbuk Motors.
The 195cm striker has scored lots of goals in recent seasons:
- In 2022-23, he played for Steaua Bucharest in Romania, scoring 16 goals in 32 games.
- In 2024, he scored 19 goals in 29 games for Tianjin.
Bonus bit of trivia - between 2018 and 2020, he won two trophies in San Marino while playing for Tre Fiori (scoring 37 goals in 41 games).
I'm struggling to find official news that I can use as reference material for Wikipedia. Am I stupid?
Does anyone know where to find up-to-date, official K3/4 announcements?
As an example, the only announcement I could find about the K3 and K4 teams for 2025 is on Instagram, and despite being run by the organisation itself, I'm sure each reference to them will be removed from Wikipedia, if not by Snowflake, then by someone else.
I'm not sure if everyone is aware, but there is a Wiki for this sub. It's a bit outdated, and it would be nice if we could update it.
No need to be comprehensive, but would anyone be interested in writing 1) a review of the 2024 season 2) a preview of the 2025 season 3) the accuracy of Buying kits/merchandise and 4) websites and podcasts
I saw that the K3/K4 Instagram has announced the teams participating in K3/K4 this year.
K3 (15 teams):
Busan Transportation, Changwon FC, Chuncheon Citizen, Daejeon Korail, FC Mokpo, Gangneung City, Gimhae FC, Gyeongju KHNP, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors N, Paju Citizen, Pocheon Citizen, Siheung Citizen, Ulsan Citizen, Yangpyeong FC, Yeoju FC
K4 (11 teams):
Daegu FC B, Dangjin Citizen, Geoje Citizen, Gijang United FC, Jinju Citizen, Namyangju Citizen, Pyeongchang United, Pyeongtaek Citizen FC, Sejong SA, Seoul Jungnang, Yeoncheon FC
Key Changes:
K3 League:
- Hwaseong promoted from K3 to K2
- Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors B promoted from K4 to K3, renamed as Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors N
- Daegu B relegated from K3 to K4
K4 League:
- Four 2024 teams are not participating in 2025 for various reasons (Daejeon Hana Citizen B, FC Sejong, Jeonju Citizen, Seoul Nowon United)
- Chungju FC relocated to Yeoncheon, now Yeoncheon FC
- Two new teams (Gijang United FC, Sejong SA)
Over the past 24 hours, numerous outlets have reported that Jeong Hoyeon may be heading to the MLS. This would be a significant loss for Gwangju, as he's one of their most important players.
Can be from any of their Korean teams / national team, and Im looking to buy even if it's worn a lot ( as long as it's still clean, lol). Quote your price~
Watching Spurs is literal torture
Hey friends,
It's been a few days since I asked for help on editing K League Wikipedia articles, and I'm happy to say our small team has made good progress on updating the history and culture of many clubs. Here are some articles that have been successfully updated so far:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Seoul
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Anyang
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulsan_HD_FC
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pohang_Steelers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gangwon_FC
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeonbuk_Hyundai_Motors
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seongnam_FC
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suwon_Samsung_Bluewings
The history sections have been updated to the present day, and other sections like club culture and facilities have also been added.
I encourage all fans here to participate in the editing of their clubs with both information and especially pictures. We would love for your original pictures of stadiums, fans, and players to be added to the articles in appropriate sections (if you are unsure how to, drop me a DM). If you would like to add any new information, please be sure to add sources with them or they might be removed. Do not update squads until official season squads are announced, or an editor named Snowflake91 will revert it.
If you would like to join our anonymous Kakao chat, please DM me for the link.
All the best.
I dont think it's even been a month since I said that Seoul Nowon United was the only team to play in every K3/4 season so far. But that changed yesterday. In a post on their Instagram account, they announced that the club will cease operations.
They didn't reveal the details, but it seems that they were already suspended from the 2025 season, and were unable to come to an agreement with Nowon-gu to help the club.
The fan group's Instagram post stated that they are waiting for more information before taking a stance.
I'm updating the FC Anyang Wikipedia page and there is a reference to the team scoring the fastest and longest goals in K League 2.
I can't find a site that lists these achievements for K League. Does anyone know of a site that might have information like this? (It might be useful for updating other team pages)
