You might have already heard of this news, but posting here anyway in case some one is interested. I can't find the English version. I wish he success as he brought many concepts, though many are not new, some professional coaches in Taiwan do not do it very well.
Assuming unilions win at least one more game and the Taiwan series goes to game 6, is there still a chance to get tickets? I can’t find any information online. If you know please help us out. Thanks
Seems a major oversight. Watching this Brothers blowout, it would have been good to have a replay for the three run home run they just hit… and of every other close play.
Having gone to games in Tianmu and Xinzhuang, I remember replays! Sort it out CPBL! 🤣
(Also… closer games please.)
I recently attended a CTBC Brothers baseball game in Taipei, and at the beginning of the game, they played a song that sounded similar to the "Tomahawk Chop" chant used by Kansas City Chiefs fans. All the fans were swinging their arms to the beat, just like with the Tomahawk Chop. Does anyone know the name of this song or where I can find it? Thanks in advance!
I'm looking to buy tickets for game 4 of the series and the page on the CPBL site links to an error page. Should I just go in person? And how much should I expect to pay? This will be my first CPBL game if I go.
I signed up for CPBTtv for the postseason and I am excited, as I've never watched CPBL before. Are there any interesting stories from this season going into the playoffs? Who are you cheering for? (When I don't have a team involved I cheer for underdogs, so I guess Rakuten?)
Just curious, does CPBLTV bill in New Taiwan Dollars or Chinese Yuan? Google Translate translated the price of the postseason package as "199 yuan." Is that Google translate getting it wrong? 199 TND is doable for me, but 199 yuan is pricey!
Thanks!
We’re all games postponed today?
Going to Tokyo in December from the US for the first time and was wondering if there’s anywhere to go for CPBL merch there. Do they sell anything in Japan? Won’t be able to stop over in Taiwan so just wondering if I can get my fix in Japan lol.
I’ll be visiting Taipei October 20-31ish, will I be able to catch a game while I’m there? The schedule at https://en.cpbl.com.tw/schedule doesn’t seem to show any games. Am I arriving too late or will there be playoff games happening?
I'm in Taipei for work this week and would like to catch a game. I'll have to travel from Taipei to Taoyuan via rail/bus and may arrive late. Can I still buy tickets after first pitch and enter?
Hi all, I will in taiwan from 24 aug to 1 sep and im interested to catch a baseball game in kaosiung on 25 aug tsg vs dragons . Base on research i cant seem to purchase a TSG or dragons game via the ibon machine in 7-11 is my only options walk in on gameday? If walk in how early do the tickets starts selling on game day thanks.
The CPBL is healthily growing again. In 2021, the Wei Chuan Dragons resumed major league play after a season in the minors. This year, the all-new TSG Hawks joined the fray.
But obviously, there is still potential for the league to expand further and reconstitute the makeup of its teams. So how?
Expand into Keelung, Hualien, and Taitung. The east coast/Pacific side of Taiwan has especially been historically neglected when it comes to sports, and having two teams will only serve to increase the athletic and cultural engagement of the region. As for Keelung, I can already feel the skeptics saying that the Taipei area should have not too many teams. So what? The Tokyo and Seoul areas have five teams each, and no one complains about such oversaturation.
Revive the Eagles, Pingtung's team; and the Whales, Chiayi's team.
Make the Dragons commit to only one of Taipei and Hsinchu. Whichever city they do not pick becomes the home of an expansion team.
Adopt a two-league system a la NPB, divided by geography.
Now with that all said and done, here is how my proposed new CPBL will look like:
North League | South League |
---|---|
Fubon Guardians | Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions |
Wei Chuan Dragons (Taipei or Hsinchu) | TSG Hawks |
Rakuten Monkeys | Chiayi Whales |
CTBC Brothers | Pingtung Eagles |
Taipei/Hsinchu expansion team | Hualien expansion team |
Keelung expansion team | Taitung expansion team |

I would like to voice out how much fun I had during my 1st ever baseball game. It was my first time watching baseball live as I come from a country that has near zero presence on baseball.
I was in Taipei over the weekend and my friend got me a ticket to watch TSG Hawks VS Chinatrust Brothers. Was seated in what I believe is the home section for TSG Hawks in Taipei Dome.
Firstly, what an amazing fully air-conditioned stadium that helps beat the summer heat. Food and drinks were reasonable price compared to many stadiums I've been to. And the atmosphere before and during the game was amazing. The cheerleaders were hyping up the crowd throughout 4 hours!
Many thanks for the great experience and I will be back to watch more in future! You got a new fan in me!
