A sub for Jewish people who like guns, and gun people who like Jews.

Welcome to Jewish Gun Owners

This is a community for sharing news, stories and advice for and between Jewish gun owners, Jews interested in guns, and people who are interested in guns and Jews. All are welcome here, regardless of religion, or stance on your right to keep and bear arms.

We do have a few rules:

  • Keep it civil - disagreement is good and fine, ad homs are not. If you are incapable of civil discussion, you'll be banned.

  • No Antisemitism - sad that this has to be said, but if you are an Anti-Semite, you're not welcome here and will be banned.

  • No private sales of guns, ammunition or gun parts - we don't want to violate Reddit's content policy, so let's keep everything kosher, okay?

  • No posts or comments which encourage the brigading of other subreddits, posts, comments, or users

The moderation team of /r/Jewishguns reserves the right to interpret these rules in whatever way they see fit.

When you bring up guns at a Jewish family dinner... and the room goes silent.

You mention your new AR-15, and suddenly you're the black sheep. "But why do you need that?" they ask. Meanwhile, your cousin is over there with a mezuzah on his rifle. Like, we get it, Aunt Miriam, your kugel is safe, but my Glock is for self-defense, not a family feud!

Newby looking to get started

I want to buy my first gun as well as take lessons/training/etc, but I don't really know where to start. I'm in the NW Burbs of Chicago and there's a few ranges around here but I'd like to find one that is 1. Generally safe & friendly to Jews, 2. Friendly to newcomers and has classes to train someone who has zero experience.

I'd also love to find a Jewish gun club, if possible. Any advice or info on ownership/clubs/ranges/stores in my area would be great (Southern Lake County, NW suburbs).

Thoughts on Jewish pages implicitly being anti-guns while standing up for Jews? Another page shared that there were 4 guns, 20mags with 30bullets each

Buying first gun, have some questions

I'm going to be purchasing my first gun soon, and had a few questions.

I'm going with the masada, I want an Israeli made gun and this looks like the best bet. Is it better to find a local place to buy (in in texas and theres a few) or to buy online and have it shipped somewhere? And is there a better first gun purchase? I plan on using this mostly for self defense but will probably carry once I'm comfortable (I'm going to take lessons and shoot frequently).

For optics I was thinking the leupold deltapoint pro. However, I spoke with my military friend and he told me I should learn to shoot well with the iron sights first. Should I hold off on purchasing this, or should I get it and try shooting with both? And is there a better optics? I'm more concerned about ease of use and reliability than I am of cost.

Last question is where the best place to buy ammo is. Someone recommended ammunition depot to me, but I'm not sure if its actually the best.

First Breach - new Israeli owned American ammo manufacturer

Thought this story is interesting. First Breach is a new ammunition manufacturer operating out of an old aircraft factory in Maryland. One co-founder is an IDF combat veteran who was wounded in Gaza in 2014.

A quick search on ammoseek showed that it looks like as of now their stuff is only sold online at Optics Planet. The price per round is currently on the expensive side, but hopefully for price conscious shooters, it eventually comes down. I would like to try their ammo someday. It looks like it's high quality.

Less QQ, more pew pew.

My Bul Armory Axes ... but I'll be putting Meprolight Pro-F enclosed emitter on them soon. THEN they'll be Jewish enough. :D
