Can Kilgrave control someone who doesn’t understand English?

So I just finished season 1 and realized that everyone he controlled spoke English or at the very least understood it to carry out his orders. So that had me wondering, if he ordered someone who didn’t speak or understand the English language, could that person actually be controlled or would they simply be unaffected because they couldn’t understand what he wanted?

I didn't really have a problem with white Pedro Pascal, but he seemed like an overall useless character

How does kill grave still has his power after he was under anesthesia on episode 8, 1st season???

Just watched this show for the first time. The entire time, I was just thinking, why doesn't JJ just knock him and immediately put him under anesthesia? That would remove his power, and it would be over. After a bunch of hired guard BS on previous episode, we get to episode 8, where she clearly gives him anesthesia, kill grave goes out. The two cooks faint, implying his powers are gone. But then JJ's neighbor literally kills herself with a bomb by pressing a button after the Police officer screams "BOMB". How do you force someone to press a button for the bomb without mind control is beyond me

Scene warning?

I’m just watching the show and I’m getting the feeling that Killgrave, who I know has mind control powers, kidnapped a girl, and when JJ found her, she was “frozen” on the bed, so I’m assuming KG raped her. I know from the comics that KG held JJ and made her witness him raping other women, but I also know that the show changed it so KG rapes JJ.

I just want to know/be warned about any rape scene; does it show KG actually raping her?

Am I the only one felt like season 3 rushed the plot since the beginning of the season?

Like I mean like first the villian we find out is Gregory Salinger ok I get it but the way they didn’t make him be more menacing he’s more scared then he ever was so for me is I get what he got he probably deserved it but it felt like they made it so much so predictable that it made the plot so much faster then it need to be.

They made Trish a villian how they developed that so much was more of importance then it was for Salinger and made his ending more sad then more important for me I understand they need to make Trish the villain but they way they did was too much then for the actual villian for some reason.

Thoughts?

Season 2 is underrated emotional pain

People LOVE to talk about season 1 (too much for my taste) and 3 but skip over 2 like it’s nothing, especially without it, season 3 doesn’t happen

Jessica and her mom and especially the flashback episode is the best thing no one seems to talk about, her mom is very tragic and lost, yet yearns to connect with her daughter, the car accident changed not only Jessica’s life but her moms as well, not totally excusing her actions, but her state was compromised by that accident and surgery experiments, that could’ve easily been Jessica too had things went wrong

Them teaming up to help the family was beautiful, them on the Ferris wheel talking was a small hope of a future…before it was taken away

Malcom and Trish were at the lowest they could be and the most interesting, especially helping Jessica, Jeri being ruthless but glimmers of despair and vulnerability along with vindictiveness

This season is cold and hurtful, gives us answers to questions set up in season 1 and gives Jessica some insight of what a mothers love she missed out on growing up

Just finished the show and season 3!!

Just oh my goodness I always thought Trish was gonna end up being a drug addict I thought that was the worst then season 2 but season 3 she’s hit a new level of dangerous I thought Salinger was the villian he is but the real real real villian this entire time that Salinger unleashed but Trish had for awhile is that truth of Trish was basically she’s not helping people she’s basically make her seem like the bad guy make her killing people it had to take her to see a little girl to stop or actually confess because honestly that’s mess up and Dorothy didn’t give Trish this this was all Trish.

Also one thing I want to say Jessica got be a hero or at least act like one because she’s says she’s ain’t it is kinda annoying and I see she’s has potential she’s just need to embrace with a little help with her friends in the alias investigation basically what she’s been doing would be great..

Also I was annoyed by Jeri but she’s came out in a good way which would of be like bring Trish out but didn’t and also trying to be a better person then she’s was in the earlier of the season.

How the fuck did jessica lose to 4 normal guys when they got kilgrave in s1

This is literally the most stupid shit I have ever seen in a show. This mission was incredible important to her so why the fuck did she not use her fucking powers to just flip these guys off?!?!

Which episode of the first season has Killgrave say "Come back here, Jessica"?

I know it's the one where she's finally freed herself of his powers, but I don't know which episode its in and I need that quote. Thanks!

Kilgrave power question

When kilgrave orders people to do tasks fhat dont take their full attention they are still able to talk or do other things while fufilling kilgraves orders. If thats the case than someone in close proximity to him could still attack him as long as it doesnt interfere with his orders and he hasnt specifically ordered them not to? I was thinking about this when luke cage was in the car with kilgrave

Kilgrave

On my second rewatch and it just occurred to me that a guy who looks, sounds, and dresses like Kilgrave thinks he needs compulsion powers to get girls 😂

I know, he's evil. But still...

Alt-theory about ending of Season 1

So I am rewatching JJ and I started thinking.

Killgrave had a neurological issue that would have killed him by age 12. His parents experimented and gave him a virus that repaired it and gave him his powers. Then his father amped up his powers at the end of season 1.

Since he was killed by a broken neck they could bring him back and explain it as the virus healed his nervous system and that a broken neck wasn't enough to kill him. They could show a flashback of him waking up paralyzed in the morgue and talking his way out of it and into hiding with medical care. That he went into hiding for a few years to fully heal and grow his powers more before he came back stronger than ever. In the real world obviously you can't heal from a broken neck like he had but this is the comics and this theory would be a great way to bring Killgrave back for round two bigger and badder than ever before, or changing his ways to try to be a hero to win over Jessica this time around since he is so obsessed..

Season 3 premiere!

Trish’s mother so unbearable there’s never an episode that she’s never actually caring because we wasted an entire episode finding Trish just finding she’s alright that’s was just unnecessary because she’s wasn’t effing missing she’s was just being a goddamn hero which again not an issue but Trish’s mother had make a big deal out of nothing right! Dumb.

Also Trish is the most ungrateful piss of shit I ever seen why could you just said thanks Jessica for saving my ass then being asshat say I didn’t need you save me really because it looks to me you didn’t got it so chill.

Also isn’t Jessica bulletproof? Or am I wrong?

This isn’t JJ related but elektra related

I can’t post on the other Reddit board because it won’t let me but does anyone know why they brought Jenifer Garner back as Elektra rather than letting Elodue Yung play her again?

Seeing this Reddit active so many years after JJS3 gives me hope we will get a season 4

This just shows how many people still love watch and want this show to come back. Disney surely will catch on, I don’t see any reason for them not to do a 4th season. Let’s just hope they don’t wait too long. Krysten is in her 40’s now. She looks phenomenal but at a certain point it will be too late and I will be pissed if they cast some random as JJ. KRYSTEN is the only JJ

Black widow and Jessica jones

The only reason why I have such a little hope for marble, actually doing something good with Jessica Jones is because they have a habit of a really screwing their female leads. Look at Scarlett Johansson well black widow, it took her ages to get her own movie, and they finally gave her one she was already dead. Sorry I’m just still extremely better that they killed her off.

Now that we know Jessica jones is canon do you think she will actually be in future movies?

I just wonder and I hope. Maybe that’s why Krysten has been posting all these pictures of her at the gym and stuff

Jessica Jones added to Marvel

I really hope they Jessica gets some good fight scenes in later shows/movies. I know her show was more about her mental battles than her physical ones, but the few fights she had made it sort of hard to gauge her power level. The comics aren’t best guide, they seem to use them more as a pick and choose on power level and storylines. I read online that her power is on a similar level to Captain Americas, but I’m not sure how accurate that is. I also wonder who she’d be paired with, if they’d keep her in the Defenders circle with cool Daredevil cameos, or really add her to the mix of it.

Jessica Jones is one of my most favorite characters in superhero genre

I will say the H-word, she is my favorite female superhero. She has multiple layers in her. Most other female superheros are one dimensional, at least in films and series. Jessica has gone through a lot still she chooses to use her powers for good. She doesn't want any fame. She inspires me.
