Please help
I know this have nothing to do with j-horror movies but I've been looking for this show a really long time ago, today I just found a short clip about it on Instagram but there was no source, does anybody know what is it called??
My memory is very very vague but the context is: the year was probably 2011, me and a friend at the time went to the video store to search for some unknown movies to watch. We glimpsed upon a japanese movie which the poster interested us. It's not a mainstream movie and the main character was a woman, not a teenager, a grown woman. The plot was about suic*de, the girl tried oofing herself and she was rescued. After that she tried just keep going on with a normal life, but she noticed she was seeing some weird stuff. When she was rescued, someone told her that she could have consequences about this, that people that tried that, became vengeful spirits that tried to latch into people who were alive. I remember about some specific scenes, i'll try to list some. One of the scenes i remember, is one that the main character tries to get a taxi, and a spirit is inside the taxi with her. She becames panicked and (maybe) leaves the car, can't quite remember that. Another scene is about halfway into the movie, the MC is pregnant. She has a lot of nightmares. I remember a very creepy moment in which a spirit climbs some stairs in a hospital and tries to go into her via her private parts (very weird)to possess her baby. Again it's a very vague memory but i'm sure i did watch this movie, and it was japanese. Thanks for the help!!
It's about a girl who lives alone and observes people with binoculars for a hobby. She suddenly spots an old man at a random super market. She then began stalking him and ends up somewhat kidnapping him. The last scene ended with the old man escaping and fighting her.
I forgot the title, need help finding it. Thanks!
Tired of just manga and wanna try some novels. Already have the ring and was hoping to see if there were some others that weren’t hard to find (letter to parasite eve on that 🫠)
I watched a film I would guess around 2006/7 and I would place it as made around late 90s early 2000s, it was around the time I got into watching the Tartan Extreme collection, but I don't recall that it was part of that, just adjacent.
Anyway, the vague bits I can remember were the main protagonist being a man travelling through hell / or a portrayal of his personal hell.
I specifically recall a scene where he meets a really creepy forest demon where the head and body are separated, or the neck was really long, and the demon is sitting in a tree (I seem to recall it was female).
There's not much more I can recall in terms of detail - I believe it was slightly cheesier than the more extreme horrors of the time, but still creepy in its own right.
Sorry it's super vague - any leads would be very helpful at this point as I'm running into dead ends with my searches.
Collected Occult, Sadako vs. Kayako, Teke Teke, A Beast in Love, and the Senritsu Kaiki series over the last few months.
I'm stoked I found this sub. People will FINALLY know what I'm talking about!
Audition has a soft spot in my heart. Like a first love. It was the first Japanese horror film and it BLEW MY MIND!! I can still feel that same crawling, scratching, deeply disturbing essence trapped under my skin that I felt the first time I watched it. That was in 2005. Out of the blue, nearly 20 years later, images will just pop in my head and then the feeling creeps right back in.
How many films, especially horror, stick with you THAT long?! I absolutely fell in love with it.
What are your thoughts about Audition? What really stood out to you? And if you are a big fan, which horror film do you think is better (if there is one? lol)
Does anyone know where to watch Hanako of the Toilet (1998)?
So, as anyone who has watched the Ju-On/the Grudge movies would know, if you enter the Saeki house or otherwise come into contact with the curse your fate is sealed. Kayako will sooner or later kill you. But, hypothetically, what would happen if a truly immortal person entered the house? Let's say they can't die no matter what and will heal from any damage done to them. Would Kayako continue trying to kill them or will she eventually give up?
Anyone know of any good sci-fi horror films here?
one is about a guy who investigates a apartment from his brother or friend after he disappeared. Either the police or family members are with him. Every crevice in the apartment is covered with red tape. after Some time the other people with him disappear. Then he finds a diary or textbook in which his brother has written in a paranoid fashion about how all crevices should be covered. The guy sees some tape unfurl and in a panic tries to cover it back up but a hand comes out of the crevice and pulls him in.
the second is about a girl who goes to sleep with a bunch of other girls in a big room. She wakes up in the night and sees a unknown girl in a (rocking?) chair. The unknown girl starts to violently rock her head up and down. The girl hides under the blanket of her futon for a few seconds. When she looks again the unknown girl or a bunch of unknown girls are sitting around one of the sleeping girls and start eating raw rice.
some details may be inaccurate because it has been a few years since I saw it on YouTube. They Where part of Japanese horror shorts but I can’t remember of they where the same collection or two different ones.
thank you in advance.
director: Takashi Miike
I added this to my cart so I could push the total over the free shipping edge, is it actually the Ju-on: the curse? 5 dollars seems low, but it's thriftbooks and maybe the seller doesn't know what they have/got it confused with the other Ju-on?? What if I end up just getting sent The Grudge 3 or something like that I would laugh
Hey, all! I tend to go on random mini binges to get a fix of j-horror. This one popped up and unnerved me DEEPLY, but there's zero information on it. I didn't know if it came from a television series or an anthology. If so, I would definitely like to find more because if it's anything like this creepy little video, I will sufficiently terrified.
Thanks in advance!
I'm in the process of moving, and truth be told, it's making me cranky. What better way to get over it than with films that seem topical for my situation!
Obviously, I gotta start with the Ju-On series. I also have the following on my list:
Now might also be a good time to watch House (1977) as well, but I'm not really in a comedy mood.
I feel like I had the answer to this before but cannot figure out how to search it up. Anyway, anyone know?
This finally came out online, which should tied me over until I get the Blu-ray.
Watching tonight!
Has anyone here seen this, already?
in my memory a woman is with her baby she answers the phone and she is taken by kayak into a clothes closet
I've noticed that J-Horror was extremely strong at the end of the 90ies/start of 2000s (ghosts, quiet but intense scariness). Then came hybrids that still have a lot in common with ghost movies, but are different (ex. Takashi Miike works), great as well. Then things really start to shift and came the Battle Royale inspired works (Ousama Game, Lessons of the Evil,..) aka. school kids getting killed which eventually evolved into so bloody (and often naked) that it's funny kind of movies like Tokyo Gore Police. Now... I'm not sure what I would categorize J-Horror nowadays. A lot of manga adaptions sprinkled with a few psychological or comedy originals maybe? Anyway... I'm curious if you agree with my little summary of J-Horror evolution? Did I miss some category/era? How would you describe J-Horror of the last 10 years? Do you think J-Horror is dying like some suggest? I'm curious to know your thoughts on the topic.
I remember seeing a Japanese horror film that my aunt had on DVD called Premonition or something to that effect. It had me scared to death as a kid. The plot consists of a man who finds a newspaper telling him the future of his daughter's death in a car crash.
I haven't been able to find the movie online or anything. Can anyone please help me find it?
