Anything like the title in Indy?
Have a car that needs detailing and I am interested in learning how to properly do it while it's being done.
Just got back from futuro, had never been there. OMFG, it's fantastic. If you've never been, go, you'll not regret it. The pepperoni has a nice kick to it, the sauce is incredible.. It took a little getting used to since I've never been to a place that operations like this, but man we'll be back for sure.
Found a community that offers donation based yoga/meditation at various places all over town and online.
To have a space where I can tune into my neighbors, be present, and make a positive impact on myself and community is just the kind of positivity I need right now!
Get out there and make a difference! Or go look at the moon and Venus and love yourself or something.
Celebrating a loved one's birthday next weekend and they want to go for karaoke while they are in town. Younger crowd is ideal but not required. I know of Wild Beaver but it might be a bit too crowded/rowdy for their tastes. Punch Bowl will be our last resort. Thanks!
I am a mostly empty nester whose lease is up soon. I have a dog and cat who both shed quite a bit. My oldest lives on East Coast and visits twice a year. my youngest is a junior in college and rarely home. I am trying to cut my expenses and I’m looking to move. I would love to drop down to a one bedroom for a year to really save up money. I teach on the southwest side of the city, but I drive Uber about 25 hours a week primarily downtown right now. I live out in Avon and it’s a pain in the butt to have to stop driving during events go out to Avon to let the dog out and then come back, which is why I want to be downtown. My college kid has said no problem. He’ll sleep on the couch, but my 29-year-old daughter is not fond of that idea for her when she comes to town. I looked at Riley Towers because they have guest suites and I thought that would be a good compromise for when she is in town, but my dog is too big for them. I toured Axis and I don’t love it but they have guest suites. I liked cosmopolitan but I’m not crazy about the dog walking options especially at night there. They currently have a really good special on a two bedroom.
Are there any other apartment buildings that have guest suites or have two bedrooms under 1700 that don’t have carpet in the living space? Trying to keep my total rent and utilities and parking under $2100. I was looking in fountain Square and Bates Hendrickson at houses and some other areas, but the lack of snow removal would be an issue as my car sits really low and I have no choice but to be at school. There were many I couldn’t even uber on or maneuver the corners/turns. I was fine as long as I stayed in the main areas of downtown.
So many other reasonable places have carpet in the living space and I just really don’t wanna try and mess with the shedding on the carpet since the dog sheds a small rabbit every day it seems like.
I’ve also looked at the Waverly, but it doesn’t have great space to walk a dog either it seems like.
So essentially looking for a one bedroom if there are guest suites or a two bedroom under 1700 that is a good area to have a dog. I do somewhat feel like I’m looking for a needle in a haystack.
One construction project ends, the next one starts 5 feet later.
Was going to a place to pick up a dresser I bought thrifting near Emerson and Michigan and passed a house with a Nazi flag, Hitler banner, and bunch of spray painted crap on the front like Shelter Skelter like the Manson murders. Idk if a Nazi is out and proud living there or someone full blown targeted someone but that is vile
Good afternoon,
My family has been attending the Greatest Spectacle in Racing for a few years. However, we are considering skipping the old Coke lot this year for an AirBnB. Nothing wrong with the Coke lot, but my back hurts. We found a good one, but I am curious what the atmosphere is away from the speedway itself. Are the cops going to shut down any house parties? We wanted to bring 2 golf carts to put around from house to house. No drunk driving, of course, but we don't want to haul them if we cant use them at all. Thanks fellas.
Fletcher Place, on Bates near College. It’s 3-4 inches deep
It’s really good. Just thought you guys should know. I got the carne asada one with guac and cheese. Be sure to give that restaurant some love.
WWE Royal Rumble is gonna be epic in Indy! The entire 🌎 watching 👀 !
Went for the first time today and I really liked it. The vibe, the food, lots of people just enjoying Saturday morning. I got there at 9:30 and it was already busy. The street parking was full, but the lot across the street was not. I ended up parking there but was nervous about the 24/7 towing notices posted everywhere. There were signs closer to the street that said free parking on weekends but is that for certain sites or the whole lot? I didn't get towed, thankfully, but I don't want to go another day and have issues. Can anyone clarify for me where is ok to park?
What is the history behind the prevalence of bland architecture in our city? An abundance of gray or tan brutalist-style office, government, and school buildings dominate the landscape, as is evident in Columbus, Indiana, where one of the schools bears a striking resemblance to a prison, and although brutalist architecture can be aesthetically pleasing when executed thoughtfully, the ubiquitous presence of intense squares with edges and small windows everywhere seems to be the default architectural style in Indiana. I strongly dislike this, as it contributes to the depressing ambiance of Indianapolis. This makes me understand why the city is often criticized for its lack of visual appeal, with photographs of the skyline appearing dreary due to the plethora of unremarkable buildings, and only seeming decent when heavily edited with high contrast and vibrant colors, giving the impression that we are stagnant in our approach to urban planning and architecture, and it is my opinion that Indianapolis could be a more appealing city if more consideration were given to its layout and architectural design.
Hi all. Anyone have experience with the Strive Networking organization and/or their events? I found a March 12 general professional networking event on Meetup, being held downtown. As someone who works remotely for a Tennessee company and has no network on the ground here, it sounds tempting...but also vaguely scammy. Thoughts?
We’re exploring elder care options in Indianapolis for my dad. We've heard about CareYaya but are open to more recommendations for reliable caregivers.
We love our couch and don't want to go through the trouble of buying a new one. But it has stains on the cushion covers and they have gotten very flat and deformed. Is there a place in or around Indy that can give new life to our couch?
Hi everyone! My dad has been wanting to start a DND group or join one. Does anyone know if there’s groups on the southside of indianapolis or anyone who’d want to join?
I’m looking for a nice dinner for my boyfriend and I for Valentine’s Day!! I know of st Elmo’s, Harry and Izzy’s and such, I’d prefer some hidden gems :)
My go-to for repairs in my 1906 house used to be Tim and Co’s Another Fine Mess. Since they closed in December, I’m wondering if there is anywhere else local to purchase historically accurate pieces for my house? Things I am looking for are salvaged hardwood flooring, mortise lock pieces, vent covers, etc.
Hello. I am an everyday watcher of Fox59 morning news. I love the newscasters, but I am sick and tired of the segment where they try and sell you things. There are enough normal commercials during the broadcast, but using 5 minutes of the actual newscast for stupid products is ridiculous. Also, I'm not talking about the Rich Demuro segments, but the ones where it says to scan the code on screen to find the products the 2 sales people are hocking. Just feel that 5 minutes could be used to go more in depth with an actual news story. Sorry, rant over. Have. A great day Indy people.
Hey everyone,
I have a 7yr old doodle that’s about 75lbs and I’m trying to find him a cost effective place to have his teeth cleaned. Worth mentioning he’s a very sweet boy. Grew up with cats and has no backbone. I’ve seen this asked before but those posts are a little old now.
If there isn’t really a reasonably price place, is there anyone cleaning their dogs teeth themselves? Open to hearing how that’s going for you and your dog(s).
My family is preparing for a move. What part of the city, we are still debating, but wanted to get some basic pricing.
I run a lot of enterprise computer equipment in my home. This requires a lot of power (I quickly checked and the majority of the equipment is using about 1800W, 24x7x365). I'm thinking of having additional electrical circuits installed just for my homelab (for those who are curious, check out https://noted.lol/homelabs-and-learning/
Just rough estimates, how much should I budget to have 1 or 2 additional 20amp 120v circuits installed?
Thanks in advance.
It’s my first time in Indianapolis and first time at a WWE Event (in my early 20s), been watching WWE for 18 years. If there are any post-royal rumble parties, I’d love to go!
Has anyone contacted Rep. Shreve’s office about what Trump is doing to Hoosier federal employees? If so, what are you getting in response? I’m not hearing anything back after this hellish week impacting our fellow Hoosiers.
Hi folks! Currently feeling some deep-winter cabin fever, and as a dedicated book nerd, I still have a stack I want to pour through.
Am wondering what your suggestions might be for a cozy place to plop down for a good couple of hours; ideally, comfy/loungey seating, fairly peaceful with not much chance of being interrupted by strangers, decent refreshments a plus!
Thanks! 🤓📚
