Hey! My husband and I are considering moving to Muncie. We are from Salt Lake City. The house prices are very reasonable from what we can see, and it looks like a fun college town. We have a 3 year old daughter. Any advice? Is it a safe place to live? Are the people kind and fun to make friends with? Are there good job opportunities? Tell me everything!

45. Going back to school to get a teaching credential (and to get back to the Midwest, having been stranded in New Mexico for two years). I like malls, coffee shops, movie theaters, and other creature comforts, and would like to be either within walking distance of these things and campus, or at the very least on a fairly short, straight-shot busline. (No transfers, etc.)

I prefer private landlords, if possible.

I’m a student at BSU and have now lived in Muncie for close to two years. My experience in Muncie has been kept to campus or whatever has been on Mcgalliard for the most part.

I’m curious of whatever need to see or unknown niche places there is here in Muncie. (Shops, parks, restaurants, bars, monuments, etc.)

literally every other time i go to a gas station they will not read my card outside at the pump and it makes me late every damn time it’s fucking annoying. today they took ALL the money off my card too so when i went to another gas station my card didn’t even work

I encountered a pair of bonded stray cats on my walk. A large black/white male and a small orange male. They are both very friendly but have obviously been outside for a little while.

I’d have taken them home or to a shelter if I had a car or a carrier.

I’ve seen an uptick of strays over the last couple weeks and wanna make sure they get home if anyone is looking for them.

Who ever did a hit and run on my truck and took out my mirror on Main St, could have at least stopped and asked around not just completely destroy my mirror and run away. I just bought those mirrors from the last time someone hit them.

Also how to side swipe just the mirror and not the whole truck when the truck is closer to the curb than the cars in front and behind it?

Does anyone know what's going on with Orchestra Indiana (formerly Muncie Symphony Orchestra)? Last year they had a pretty good season lined up, then randomly canceled two concerts at the end. This year they're doing fewer concerts and for some reason they're all at the high school? Doesn't Emens have better acoustics? Why are they apparently hiring a new artistic director when they just hired one last year?

I just want to attend some decent concerts without driving to Indy, but that's looking like a pipe dream.

I looking to move to Munchie, my bestfriend and his wife moved there about two years ago. They have nothing but good to say. How hard would it be to find a 1 bed studio or apartment, for a single male. I'm going to try and transfer my full-time position if able too. I should be making about $13.50-14.50 an hour then about 30-35 hours a week. Would I be able to be comfortable enough living by myself?

Fall is quickly coming and there has been 0 contractor paving done in Muncie. My understanding is the grants were issued in July, so why have none of the projects listed as community crossing grants been started? Burlington, Meeker, and Granville were all suppose to be repaved this year. I've noticed the mayor is full of empty promises, not just with paving.

I was wondering if anyone near if the oanera bread in Munchie was corporate or a franchise. I work at a corporate store and I would need to transfer to a corporate store.

Does anyone know if Kia of Muncie is an honest establishment? I am hearing all kinds of stories about Kia dealerships not honoring warranties or repairing cars right. I know Kia of Muncie was on the list of Muncie’s best. I just am asking if it lives up to that designation.
