Apartment Hunting
Hi guys, i’ve recently moved from Texas to California for a job opportunity. Me and my spouse have been looking for a pet friendly apartment (1B 1B) that preferably has a balcony. We would preferably like to keep our cap on price at around 2,850k a month. The hardest part about the hunt is finding a nice location that is also safe, as it seems like everywhere we look, people always say it’s not. We have tried Irvine Company Apartments, but they were just a pain in the butt to deal with. If anyone knows any good and safe locations for us could you let us know? Thank you!
I shot this low angle of the pier the other day and really like how it turned out.

Hi there, due to an injury I'm unable to run the full marathon on February 2, 2025. Really bummed as this would be my second marathon.
Looking to transfer my Bib if anyone is interested!
Transfer rules:
Bib transfers are allowed (if there are open spots in that distance) for an administration charge and must be processed through your ACTIVE MyEvents account no later than January 25, 2025. The new runner will need to pay the full entry fee at the time of the transfer.Â
There's a veterinary hospital that opened in 5 Points Plaza that I think people should know more about. They're a new pet hospital that's actually open during the weekends which is nice. Brought my dog in there not too long ago and the team was awesome! They're open later than most too which is great for people who work 9-5 like most of us here, and I managed to be seen the same day I called. I believe they only see cats and dogs at the moment to my understanding. But yeah. Hope these guys are here for a long time!
Incredible. Why risk your life? People running red lights in the car or on a bike. Why? Selfishness? What do you all think is the reason?
Going to waste my thanksgiving watching football and wondering where the best place to go it.
I used to go to Sharkeez, but their constant switching to music during commercials is incredibly annoying.
Who is going to have the games on and the sound to go with it?
Just bought a small condo. Want to remove a small section of interior wall. HOA (probably city too) wants an engineer to draw it up. I don’t know anyone. Suggestions?
Today I went to Ralph’s on BC/Warner and memories of the Blockbuster in the same plaza came back to mind. I must have went there 100 times as a kid.
What are some places that you remember around HB that are no longer there?
It’s my bday tomorrow and I’d like to get out in the water but I’m trying to gauge the quality after the rains and sounds like red tide that came through. Anybody go out today near dog beach? How is it?
I've had Verizon for 9 years and it used to be great but in the last year or two it's just gone completely downhill. I pay for a hotspot that never works, I constantly get dropped calls, and data is slower than shit.
If I were to switch carriers, who would you recommend? I originally got Verizon because it had good service in the mountains when I'd go hiking but at this point that doesn't matter if I can't even take a work call efficiently.
I’m curious how many surfers have really bad nasal allergies after surfing on red tide days. I’m in my 50’s and have had allergies all my life and have come to identify allergens (and mostly try to avoid) things that trigger my allergies. I’ve also been surfing regularly since I was 15 and it wasn’t until in my 30’s that an older friend mentioned that he surfed the red tide one morning and he was all stuffed up, coincidentally I did too that day and was completely stuffed up for a couple days. Since then without fail, If I’m the water and the red tide rolls in it is going to trigger an allergy attack…95% of the time. I’m curious what other surfers are experiencing the same thing and am also mentioning this to others so maybe a light bulb goes off when you wonder why you feel like you have a cold after the last time you surfed as it may have been caused by red tide that day. I’ve been surfing for 38 years and try to get out at least 2-3 x per week and I have at least 100 days of empirical evidence where this occurred so coincidence is statistically imposssible. I cannot seem to find any articles where this has been studied and/or any preventative measures can be done and would be interested if anyone is aware of any.
I’m looking at the residences at bella terra, luce, sendero, and boardwalk by windsor right now. any feedback/recommendations appreciated. the last apartment we lived in had rats which i believe they knew before we moved in and didn’t disclose. so my bar is kind of low but i still want a nice place to live!
Found on a street pole by Bella Terra.
Anyone know more? Street art? Honeypot? Legit resurgence of the Communist Party?
one note - looks like SeaLegs canceled their Sat & Sun shows because it might rain

Hello everyone,
Does anyone happen to have any contact information for the vendor at the Tuesday night farmers market who sells organic coconut milk and water.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Looking to replace my furnace and add AC. Thinking about installing a mini split. I contacted Alps for a quote. Wondering if anyone here has a review for them. They have lots of good reviews online. TIA.
Beyond scouring Hotpads and driving around the neighborhood, I figure I'd also use this to help supplement my apartment search.
Looking for something in downtown Huntington Beach. I have a small service dog. Maybe 500 square feet or larger, 1 bedroom or studio. With a patio, preferably. Around $2500. I'm well qualified. I own a condo that my parents live in. I am currently in Long Beach, and have been here long enough that I am looking forward to a small relocation to reset some things in my life. And I'm targeting HB.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.
Hands down the most delicious place I’ve eaten in HB. If there is a reason in your life to celebrate, go to Captain Jack’s you will not be disappointed.

Hello! My husband and I are visiting Huntington Beach, Ca. in the very near future for our 10th wedding anniversary. I am looking for recommendations for a couples massage. Preferably something romantic and in the price range of about $200 per person. Thank you!
Hi! I want to treat my Nana to a nice haircut and perm! She has above the shoulder, fine hair. Where can I take her to get the best in HB?!
