Brand new 30-30 shooting over 2 feet high at 50 yards on iron sights…….help?
Got Henry Single Shot 357mag/38spl and want to chop the barrel down to around 16 inches and add the thread for suppressor. Any reputable gun smith recommended?
Any good slings and stock/lever handle warping good out there to hold ammunition for hunting thx
I tried to shoot my Henry big boy 44 mag today and it cannot be fired. Less than 1000 rounds and I shot it last time it was fine.
I am wondering is my firing pin broken.
Greetings! I own a Henry single shot shotgun, and I am just having some concerns with the long term durability of the MIM hammer. Is this a realistic concern to have? It doesn’t feel as well built as the old H&R hammers. Thanks!
I bought the Henry homesteader a few months back and have been enjoying it thoroughly. After about 100 rounds suppressed, the left action bar came out of its slot in the front bolt weight. Upon takedown and examining it looks as though the lip that was holding it in was sheered off. My question is, have any of you had to file a warranty claim and how long will I be without my rifle? Bonus question if you own a homesteader, has this happened to you?
Hello, I had a question the Henry long ranger will be my first firearm. So I don’t know much but I got a great deal on a 50mm scope and I just purchased a 6.5 Creedmoor Long ranger. I pick up the rifle on Monday, I just want to get everything ready for it when I get it. My main question is 50mm too big? And if not what height scope rings should I get to accommodate the 50mm size. Thanks
Henry Big Boy Model X, chambered in .357. Antimatter Scopeswitch Vortex Crossfire II Scout Scope Huxwrx 45 RAD, hux direct thread Woox Walnut grips Someone’s Walnut stock
All the main parts are installed, and man this thing is beautiful!
Only non major thing I want to install is a 30-30 quiver. But she’s about done and ready to be sighted in at 100 yards
Hey, like the title says…just got a model x today in 30-30 and already looking at ways to deck it out.
Just bought the RPP M-Lok set up and now looking to do something about the stock.
I like the form stocks but super pricey, not a fan of the tactical style stocks. I was considering doing a paracord wrap on the stock as it sits today. Has anyone done that before? I tried to do some googling but didn’t have any luck.
Looking for advice on paracord wrapping or any alternatives that won’t break the bank to add a little spice to the “stock” stock.
Thanks!
I have a steel receiver Big Boy in .44 mag, and I am having some really bad issues with inconsistent hits regardless of range or ammo.
Today was my second trip to the range with it, and I went to a 100 yard indoor range to eliminate the variables from shooting out at a farm the first time.
Scope is a leupold 3-9x40, on spec torqued bases and rings on a Henry pic rail, used a laser boresight to get it on paper and I could not keep it on a 9x9 target even at 25 yards. One or two shots might string together, then one would be a foot off, generally high and left, but not consistent.
I was trying to get it sighted in with 225 grain Hornady LeverEvolution flex tips, but also tested it with 240 grain underwood JHPs to see if it was a weight issue. Same general result. 100, 50 and 25 yards all had the same issue, just spread out further at distance.
The backer on the target trolley was pretty shot up, but I did not see anything that looked like keyholing on the holes from me.
Has anyone had an experience like this with their Big Boy? I’m thinking it needs to go back to Henry to get checked out, but figured I would ask this subreddit and see if there might be anything else at play.
FWIW, I am a pretty experienced shooter and zeroed another rifle at the range today without any real issue, so I’m fairly confident it isn’t just me. I did not take the scope off and check with just irons either, which I thought about on the drive home, but that seems unlikely to be the core of this one.
I have a golden boy, i enjoy shooting it however i can not stand the iron sights on Henrys. What have people swapped them out for keeping a classic look.
For those running a RPP Handguard, how's your rigs accuracy been affected? I didn't baseline before installing so don't have a frame of reference but, at 2-300 yards I am getting pretty large poi spread.
30-30 running hornady lever evolution.
The set screws that interface horizontally into the barrel are what I am wondering about. They are the plastic tipped set screw variety and I'm curious if those are deflecting as things heat up?
Likewise the set screws at the receiver, did you have to play with those tensions?
Hey y’all - wanted to clean up & deburr my All Weather Side Gate 45-70. Have any of y’all had experience with this? Will I ruin the hard chrome finish if I polish up the lever, loading gate, feed ramp, etc?
Henry Big Boy 357, Henry Big Boy 357 revolver, Heritage Settler 22lr, Heritage Rough Rider 22lr revolver with 22wmr cylinder.
Any suggestions for a full co witness red dot for a model x 3030. Thanks!
Hi All,
I’m looking for a good buttstock ammo sleeve for a Big Boy .357 carbine. Don’t want anything that looks to “cowboy-ish” or tactical. Just want something easy to put on/take off, snug fitting, and reliable.
Thanks!
What do you think about this build? Not a tacticool. I'm a simple man.
She’s almost finished.
Got a new homesteader today, installed the Glock Magwell, when I have the magazine installed on the gun it does not allow the action to close. If I take the mag out it works, anyone else have this issue?
