Hey everyone, the title pretty much says it all. I’ve seen some cool photos of “tacticalized” lever action rifles and was wondering if anyone has any advice/experience on building one and where to get the parts needed. I’m planning on using a .44 magnum Henry big boy model X but if y’all recommend a different rifle I’m all ears. I also live in California, which is obviously not known for its pro 2nd amendment laws so I’m not sure if that will also impact my ability to build a rifle
Hey guys
Looking to pickup a lever 22 to compliment my Model 94 in 3030. Just want something with a smooth action thats more fun to shoot.
I haven't been able to handle either rifle yet and won't be able to until the new year, some stores online in Canada here are having sales so I want to order while that is going on.
There isn't a lot of information out there on the Revel, lots available for the HM001L and consensus seems to be mixed on it, kinda cheap pot metal.
Wondering if anybody thinks the Revel is much better? I do REALLY like that it's made in Canada as local manufacturers are very slim. finding reviews are scarce but another post mentioned that it seems better quality than the Henry?
Not hunting with it, just using it as a plinker at the range. May end up doing competition with it if they do a lever class at my club next year.
Only issue I can find is the price because the store I want to order from doesn't have the regular edition in stock just the DLX and it's $200(CAD) more than the Henry for what seems to not be much more.
Anybody have experience handing, or even better shooting, both?
I have a 30-30 and got a bushnell red dot I want to use. My buddy was saying a weapons recoil or too much of it can fuck it up? Like certain optics need a certain rating?
Never heard of this before
Totally new to lever guns and to 357 ammo - all my experience is 223 and 9mm. I would like to pick up some 357 mag for home defense and perhaps some 38 special for plinking. Plan to go suppressed as soon as I can find a can in stock. Would really appreciate some guidance as to bullet weights to look for.
Was using my Citadel Levtac 92 (.357) suppressed. After about 15 rounds, the ejector snapped in half and popped out. Anyone know where I can purchase/find another? I know Stevesgunz sells one for $75… looking for one I may not need to file to size if possible. Thanks!
Federal hammerdown 270gr 44 mag
Hornady LeverRevolution ftx 225gr 44 mag
Federal power shok 300gr 45-70
Hornady LeverRevolution ftx 325gr 45-70
Grizzly +P 405gr WLNGC 45-70
Any recommend?
I have an old Rossi R92 .38/.357 that needs a new loading gate cover. Normally I'd just buy one from Steve's Gunz, however he's out of stock and looking for a new manufacturer for these parts so no ETA on when they might be available again.
Will any other part work? An actual Winchester 1892 replacement part? A r92 loading gate for .45 colt? Or do I have to wait for this specific one to come back. Rossi doesn't sell this part individually
Ive been working with an experimental load of 44mag with promising results. Im interested in using a long barreled rifle with this round but I can’t find any as most rounds use a fast burning pistol load leading most rifles to be under 20”.
I’m not that savvy with lever actions but I know that a 44WCF barrel theoretically should work but the rest of the 44WCF would have issues. My reason for mentioning this is that I can find a 30” 44WCF
Is it possible to use a 44WCF barrel with a 44magnum breech,chamber,etc… ?
I’m not interested in if it’s a subjectively good idea or not I only want to know if it would or wouldn’t objectively be possible. I don’t mind an explanation but I’ve seen a couple of responses in other threads that go on tangents unrelated to the question and I honestly don’t care for that.
Thanks guys!
Anyone use the Palo Verde spring kit for Rossi 92's. Can't find any really good forums or youTube videos of they kit being used.
Calling all you space cowboys out there: I’m looking for your original Henry stock! I’ve got an X 45-70 project and need the wood pistol grip stock. Could be off of an H010G, H010GWL, or H010GCC. Going to refinish it so some salt is ok. Happy to pay a reasonable price for one, so if you have no use for your old takeoff wood stock let me know!
Howdy everyone, first time posting here!
Long story short, I have a JM Marlin ported 1895g with a WWG large loop that I was trying to give a little modern touch to by upgrading to the Magpul ELG furniture set. I have since found out that the straight stock finger loop doesn’t fit.
Has anyone in this situation successfully modified their stock to work with the straight finger loop?
My alternatives at this point seem to be either keep the straight stock, or buy a new loop and trigger guard plate.
I just picked up a new Marlin 1894 and I’m trying to decide which round I should shoot through it. Any thoughts would be helpful
Christmas is coming around the corner and I’ve been asking about owning a rifle. Lever action specifically (my dad and I grew up watching the rifleman but they also are fun).
The issue is the wallet dent, I’m not expecting anything of course but what would be best for hunting. 30-30 or 45-70? This would be my first rifle owned and used. I need straight walled cartridges though.
