Where to meet women 28-43 who are more of a homebody (still likes to go out occasionally) but also gives their opinions on stuff?

How do you even find them since they are mostly at home? On top of that how to find women like that who still like to give input on couples decisions?

Can Anyone Decypher the City Clerk's Race?

You would think that "Clerk" would be a pretty non-controversial position, but this race seems anything but - almost like a proxy battle for other things. At the candidate's forum, it seemed like there was a lot left unspoken. The incumbent seemed on top of the issues, well-prepared, and cited improvements in efficiency and customer service. The challenger, a former clerk's office employee who now works for the Walton Arts Center, mostly seemed to suggest things were better in the past (make the clerk's office great again?). And it seems like the mayor's office has some kind of beef with the clerk's office. Also, at the forum, the incumbent was in all blue and the challenger was in all red - am I reading too much into that in terms of both of their political leanings?

Vet Recommendations

Need vet recommendations for my dog. Fayetteville/southern Springdale area. Want smaller vet, clean, calm atmosphere, patient rooms decent size and well lit.

We’re actually over in Madison county. We have used the Madison county vet in Huntsville but we are not happy with them. Simply put the atmosphere was a bit chaotic. So I’m looking for a Vet that has a calm atmosphere, clean, good reviews. Doesn’t need to be 5 star expensive resort. I’m fine with small vets.

The issues I had at Huntsville vet: It was way overcrowded and loud for having an appointment. There shouldn’t be 10 people in the waiting room. 4 of them were people they happened to see someone they knew so they just stood in there at the front desk talking loudly. Nothing they can control but an old person arguing with the front desk because they couldn’t accept a check for an online order anymore. I’m used to when we have an appointment, the vet had the patient room ready for you to go back so you can sit in the quiet with your pet. Even if the dr is running 10-15 late they had the rooms open for you. The patient rooms at Huntsville were the size of a closet and they were dark. The vet assistant could not draw blood from my dog. She tried 3 times before the vet came in to do it. I’ve never had a vet have an issue locating the vein. Always on the first try.

Sure this might be fine for some for an annual checkup. But I couldn’t imagine bringing my dog to this chaotic environment if something was legitimately wrong or for the day she has to leave us 🌈.

Shoe store suggestions

Looking for a shoe store for everyday shoes, tennis shoes and fall shoes. I’ve been to stores where they scan your feet and pick out options for you. Is there anything like that around here?

Third Eye Blind concert at the Amp

I know it was a couple of weeks ago. Just curious if anyone went and if so how was it? I didn’t have anyone to go with plus that heat didn’t make it appealing to me. 🥵

Stump for Molly so I know what’s going on.

I’ve lived in Fayetteville for a good while now and have always voted for Jordan because he seemed like a nice guy and the city has always been nice and stable during my time here. Rawn seems to be the first challenger to Jordan I’ve seen who is actually getting a lot of momentum in the community. The housing situation seems to be opening political fissures in the community that weren’t there before. Typically I’d vote for Jordan because I felt like things were going well. But for those of you who support Rawn over Jordan, explain why. I’ve looked at each candidates’ campaign websites and it can be difficult to parse real substance from campaign platitudes. (I love Firecat and I guess Terminella exists but it’s really just between Jordan and Rawn for me.)

Mattress disposal in Fayetteville

What’s the best way to go about disposing of an old mattress? Will it be picked up if left by the garbage? It’s not in any condition to be donated, so that’s not an option.

Hair Stylist Recs

So I have a bit of a unique situation! Does anyone know who can really slay a silk press but is also an expert colorist. I’ve found a lot of black stylists in the area are AMAZING with silk presses, but not so much with color. And I find primarily white stylists are incredible with color, but not with working with black hair. Anyone know who can do both very well?! I’m open for anyone in NWA!

Long shot, but does anyone know Jared C. who used to work at Floyd's 99? He isn't there anymore and I would love to continue to see him.

Ward 4, Don't let Todd Hertzberg fool you

I know a lot of people like Holly, but Todd is not Holly.

Todd is an ally of out of state big investors who want sprawl, chain businesses, and parking lots instead of a dense, vibrant city.

You'll also notice the same people who line up behind Terminella are lining up behind Todd - this isn't coincidence, Todd was part of Terminella's mayoral campaign operations in past years. Todd is also associated with John La Tour (remember that guy?)

LGBTQ+ Biking Group?

Hi ya'll!

I'm looking for cool biking groups to check out here in Fayetteville. Would be particularly awesome to find an LGBTQ+ biking group to ride with! And if there isn't one that exists....would folks be interested if I started one? I've belonged to other queer biking groups and it's a fun way to meet other people in the community!

Cheers and happy biking!

Are there any pro wrestling fans on NWA? Businesses can’t stream PLE’s without paying a fee for it but it doesn’t mean we can’t hang out somewhere and watch some wrasslin’! 🤠

Looking for greenhouse, horticulture, agriculture etc. businesses/jobs

Hey all! I have currently applied for a horticulture assistant position for the city, and am pretty confident in securing it considering my current experience level.

Regardless, I wanted to have a few extra applications out there just in case. Does anyone know of any greenhouses or horticulture related businesses in the area that would have a need for year round work? I know the front-end of garden centers and such are seasonal, so I'm looking for back-end, year-round opportunities.

I have spent a winter working a hydroponic greenhouse, so I am familiar with hydroponics at a large scale as well! Thanks :)
