I’m visiting a relative this weekend and got a parking ticket. I don’t go to school here, and don’t plan on it. What happens if I just don’t pay it?
I’m going to be a freshman at UARK next year and me and my friend are wanting to stay in Maples. Can we pick who we want to room with and should I apply for it the day the housing contract opens? My friend who I’m wanting to room with is doing honors and she gets first dibs so can she still pick me as a roommate that way I can room with her?
Hi, I'm a freshman currently in the engineering department. I plan to declare as mechanical in the spring, and I'm aiming to do the internation study abroad program. I'm looking at the projected courses I should take and when to be on track for that it has me taking Thermodynamics over the summer. I was just wondering what others experiences with that class have been and if it'd be more beneficial to try and take the class during either the fall for spring. Any input is appreciated as I truly have no clue on how I should be arranging my schedule.
Pretty much the title - daughter is considering transferring to Arkansas to be closer to home, but is concerned because it's significantly lower ranked than her current school. Obviously rankings aren't everything and I don't mean to sound obnoxious, I'm genuinely trying to help her make a decision. If you transferred from a higher ranked school, how has your academic experience compared? What are the benefits of Arkansas over other schools? Thanks!
Does anyone know where I can take the LSAT remotely on campus? Anything helps!
Hi,
I'm planning to take several courses at another university and transfer to the University of Arkansas next year. The courses I'll take are already accepted by U of A, but it's not enough for transferring 90 credits.
For the courses I can't transfer, are there any affordable online options (like Sophia/Straighterline etc.) that I could take to cover the missing credits?
Here’s a screenshot of the courses that are accepted and those that aren’t.
Thanks for any advice!
I have a test scheduled for tomorrow that will require the Lockdown Browser to be installed and I would rather not have it installed on my personal computer, is there any computer lab on campus that fulfills the requirement for a webcam?
Hi everyone,
I hold a Bachelor of Science from another university and am considering post-bacc classes to improve my grades, potentially at the University of Arkansas. I’d appreciate any advice or insights on the following courses I’m looking at for the Spring semester:
I've been out of school for a year, but I live in Fayetteville, so attending classes here would be most convenient.
Also, I’m curious about the likelihood of getting into these classes when registration opens.
Thank you!
Hi, i’m a mechanical engineering major, i came into my first semester unable to take a science bc classes were full ( chem and geology ) any tips to help me out because i will be doubling up on sciences next semester?
Hello, potential junior transfer student here. I’ve been looking into colleges that have more a “traditional college experience” vibe. (I’m from CA), and wonder how University of Iowa vs Arkansas compare? I know a bit more about Iowa because I’m familiar with the area and my dad went there. I’d be applying for an English or creative writing major.
Thank you!
hi!! I am a freshman here at uark, and I was wondering if you guys think it would be too much to take environmental science at the same time as university chem 1. i've heard bad things about chem, but to stay on track with my major i think i should take both of these classes this upcoming semester. just wondering if it would be a lot of work, and too much to do these two sciences together.
Hi, I am a freshman this year and I am having trouble in MGMT 21003. Managing People and Organizations with Professor Schutt. Does anyone who has taken the course know of any sources or materials that can help me? Like online videos that covered similar information or any tips or tricks you used? I would really appreciate it!
Saw a flyer with this saying on the Greek theatre; just wanted to know if this is like a frat thing or if it’s just some like ARG someone is putting out there. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated!
-I would just be looking to do it my freshman year in all likelihood. How much can non music majors expect to receive scholarship wise? How competitive are non percussion auditions? Are they a formality? Would the schedule interfere with doing pre med? What do you do when it is not football season?
Does anybody know what's up with the power today? It's been happening all across campus, since this morning.
Will I for sure be in debt if I attend the University of Arkansas?
I joined UArk in August 2024. While exploring hogsync I came across some clubs that I was interested to join. However, when I try to join it says, "Sorry but users of type guest are not allowed to join groups. Please contact a school administrator."
Any idea how to get around that?
Hello everyone I am a senior in HS and I plan on going to UARK and was wondering how the diversity was like and if they're accepting. A little background about me is that I'm a southeast Asian that was raised in Dallas, Texas pretty much my whole life and used to diversity and acceptance. At the end of my freshmen year we moved to a small town in Arkansas for a business opportunity. Although nobody has directly been racist to my face, people have made racist remarks or just crazy assumption and often get weird looks. Of course I was still able to make friends and have a social life but being the only Asian, I think my life would've been a little easier if it was somewhere more open and diverse. Anyways I would appreciate if anybody lets me know how it is for Asians and I also hope on making other Asian friends as well.
I am sort of excited to go to UARK next year, but im scraed that they dont have a ECE (Electrical and Computer engineering) program or something like it. UALR has a program that combines Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering (NOT COMPUTER SCIENCE). Does UARK have something like this? I really want both a degree in computer engineering (NOT CSP) and one in Electrical engineering. My current major I have selected for my application is Electrical Engineering but I want both of these without having to go back an entire 4 years.
I’m from Bentonville but I’m currently attending Mizzou. I’ve given it a year and some and I still can’t find much redeemable over there. The program I’m studying is better over there than at U of A, but I’m still seriously considering transferring to U of A either next semester (or next year if I can’t sublease). I worry about not being able to find a strong community though if I transfer in the spring as a sophomore or next year as a junior. Curious to hear thoughts and advice. Thanks!
How do I sell my student ticket for the A&M game?
Traveling from out of town and going to the game tomorrow. Wondering what the parking situation is like, where to park and what costs to expect.
We will be driving from Bentonville, would it make more sense to Uber? Worried about surge pricing and availability after the game.
Thanks for any advice! Much appreciated.
Someone hit me in a parking lot. Will the UAPD do anything to help me?
So I looked up the instructions for Harmon hourly parking and in the instructions (specifically step number 5) it asks to put in a meter code and then to pay. How do I find my meter code? There is no number on the parking spot that I’m at or any signs indicating a code. The only sign there are, are the ones at the ends of the garage and they say “pay parking” indicating that anything past the sign is for pay parking. Where can I find the meter code?
I have had the scholarship for 3 years and this year they awarded me the senior amount. The website for the Arkansas Academic Challenge scholarships says that I can't go over 120 hours. With my transfer credits from high school concurrent classes I do go over the amount. I was wondering does AP credits and concurrent credit count for the scholarship?
Can you park at Harmon avenue parking garage if you don’t have a parking permit? Like parking and paying on a per hour basis. And if so how much would it costs?
If I'm planning on majoring in English, then law, is the Fulbright college a good place to start from?
I am starting the architecture program this summer… how is the program here?
There are way too many students here. WAY too many. The enrollment is supposed to be over 33,000 this year because there are too many Texans who just want to go somewhere with a lot of Greek life. Housing is expensive, it’s hard to get clases you need, and parking is worse than ever. You have to arrive before 7am or drive around forever to find parking. Uark keeps celebrating record enrollment without building housing or parking spaces. Just go somewhere else. This school has gotten too greedy. If you’re from Arkansas, only come if you’re doing business or engineering. Any other out of state students, you should probably go somewhere else too.
Are there any actual spots that you can buy and reserve anywhere near a bus stop? I’m spending 30+ minutes a day just trying to find a parking spot and people fly through the parking lot so it’s just an accident waiting to happen.
