The current basketball season ticket scheme is an absolute joke. As we know, lots of corporate season ticket holders just use the premium seats to wine and dine special guests for big games and leave the seats empty the rest of the time. I get that, that's gonna happen in every sport everywhere.
But then it is also beyond evident that a large number of season ticket holders simply use them as some sort of investment scheme? If you go to seatgeek, you can see the exact same seats listed for sale for every single game. I'll give an example, Section 210, Row 1, Seats 1-4. Just randomly clicking on like 7 different dates including the Alabama game (arguably our biggest home game of the year), these seats are listed for sale. I noticed this particular row do the same thing last year.
Why buy season tickets if you aren't even interested in going to our biggest games? Stuff comes up, I get it, but I am saying this is an example of a section of 4 seats that seem to be for sale for every single game (at least the 7 random dates I clicked on). You are telling me that in November, these people whoever they are just have that many unavoidable conflicts? Then why buy the tickets in the first place if you apparently can't ever make it to the games?
Just go click around on dates, and you will see the same cluster of seats for sale all the way through the year.
The interest and demand to fill the stadium even during the middle of the week is there. Plenty of people will come watch us blow out Troy or whoever on a weeknight, but they won't do it for $50+ per person.
I wish the university/foundation would enforce some sort of "use it or lose it" incentive for season ticket holders. Miss 3 games? Lose your tickets for next year. At a minimum, I think it would be great to limit season tickets to the conference games and allow individual game tickets for November and December. Alternatively, they could do a "check-in" type system somehow through the razorback app maybe. Check in to confirm you are coming to the game. If you don't your seats can be listed for general sale like 30 minutes before the game or something. Just something needs to change.
For all the talk we do about Bud Walton being a top 5 environment, we sure don't do anything to protect that reputation.
I'll hang up and listen.
Always good to start the season with a W

What is the feel for the game? Points Spread and total? I’m thinking Under 159
Can we fire Neighbors yet? Dude sure got a lot of years of out Kelsey Plum taking Washington to a Final Four.
Looking for a bobblehead that was passed out at the volleyball game vs Auburn today. I wasn't able to make the game. Please message if you're willing to give away or sell.
Many posts on challenges and recommendations for "fixing" football. An observation as a Hog out of state for a few decades.
BASKETBALL - CAL was a fluke b/c of relationship w/ Tyson, CAL about to be booted, and attractiveness of our program post Mus. Funds lower for bball b/c team size, equip, facilities...
SEC SCHOOLS - all are stepping up. Here's example from Cocks Upper Deck Golf Coming to Williams-Brice Stadium – University of South Carolina Athletics (gamecocksonline.com) They also have country headliner concerts as exclusive for NIL Gamecock Club presents Southern State of Mind. Having just been at LSU @ A&M and a Tenn game, they are equally utilizing alumni and/or facilities in creative ways.
CFB RE-ALIGNMENT - someone has to lose (bottom), some have to realize they are a mid-pack with occasional breakout years (up/down), even the top will be upset ('24 season Bama, Dawgs), some players historically (Gators, Vols, Aggies) will pay to be on top again, some will make big bets and likely get spanked (Ole Miss). The midpack (Cocks, Hogs, Cats, Auburn) are stuck in middle. TX and OU want a seat at table and bring tradition w/ funded fan bases. Others with remote-ish campus not tied to a metro, college towns, a few major corp donors but largely mid-class working blended w/ rural. Thus funding tight.
FUTURE FORECAST - no doubt it will be some form of AFC/NFC model. Maybe football breaks away from other sports. Once travel costs of former PAC 12 to BIG10 impacts non-football sports and AD budgets, a change gonna come fast. Perhaps a bit of morph w/ the Madness model might evolve for playoffs.
Just hope it doesn't change this wonderful sport too much.
WOO PIG and HORNS DOWN
Did anyone else watch that South Carolina game last night? The stadium experience there is insane and really puts ours to shame. I think we have a lot more to work on than just coaching to attract talent.
It’s crazy to me that the experience at Bud Walton and Baum Walker is so far ahead of what is currently available at a football game. It feels like any time there is a break in the football games they do something that takes the crowd out of the game.
Maybe I’m just salty about the way we played yesterday, what do y’all think?
Other than the glaring OKST loss, all of our losses are to potential playoff teams.
Final Score: 63-31

Remember
I'm gonna say at least 3
Figured I’d do some crowdsourcing for this one and no better place to ask than Reddit: With rain in the forecast Saturday, I’m trying to rack my brain for all rain games in recent Arkansas football history. Here’s what I have been able to recall with the help of another reporter…
•2020 at Auburn
•2018 vs. Ole Miss (LR)
•2014 at Auburn
•2014 vs. Ole Miss
•2012 vs. Kentucky
•2010 vs. Ole Miss
•2001 vs. Tennessee
What else?
Ole Miss is coming to town as #19 nationally ranked team. Feels to me Ole Miss is a way overrated. They did not play any real opponent except for LSU, which they lost. They also lost to the hapless Kentucky at home. To me, Ole Miss feels like middle ranked, if not a mediocre team. What you all think?
