Shotgun/Clays

Does anyone know a place in or near Fayetteville to shoot a shotgun? I'm looking for anywhere I can shoot clays, trap, skeet, etc, but everything seems to be very far away.

Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

Have you ever been to a Speedfriending event? Join us Dec 5th/ Thursday to make some friends

The goal is to create deep friendships among people. Our last event was a huge success. 12 people showed up!

Place: Puritan coffee bar, 6:30 pm

Follow us on Instagram : vibetribenwa

We will have small group conversations (3-4 people) for roughly 10 mins. Then rotate again. To facilitate the conversations, we will have some prompts. Some prompts are going to be fun and others will be a little bit more enlightening.

It can be hard to put yourself out there. But we encourage you to try it. You might find your best friend here!

This group’s core goal is to fight social isolation. It’s a nonprofit, non partisan, volunteer based organization.

Please help us to spread the word?

Harps political donations?

I know I’m late to the party, but with the new anti-diversity announcement from Walmart, I have to get serious about finding alternatives. Aldis will be my first stop, but they don’t always have everything.

I can’t find anything about political donations from Harps. Does this mean they’re like Aldis and just stay out of the political arena? Or are they just not publicizing it? Does anyone know?

Any experience getting out of lease?

Does anyone have any experience getting out of a lease in fayetteville? I'm still in my student geared apartment from college bc the idea of moving out felt intimidating, esspecially since i have no furniture . I was a 2022 grad. I recently found an amazing deal on a rental house 2 min from work and it feels like the peices are falling perfectly to get this new place, except what to do with my apartment now. They have been closed / no manager on duty for the holiday, but i assume that I need to find a replacement tenets.

I currently live in a 2 bed 2 1/2 bath by university. Both me and my roomate would be moving out, so the whole unit is up. I've posted on Facebook trying to get someone to do a lease takeover and I've gotten no responses. I'm worried that this is going to be much harder than I originally thought.

I guess my question is if there are any other places I should be posting or anything else i should do. Ive had some people tell me that since its january with the new semester and since the whole unit is available, i will have an advantage and will easily get someone after the holidays, and ive had others tell me that so many people are moving out in december that i might be out of luck.

The landlord would want a signature/ deposit next week for the house. And I guess im wondering if anyone has had an experience in this rental market and has any advice for what to do.

Why so few recyclables?

Love that recycling is picked up at my house, but it seems we are still putting so many recyclables into the trash because the city doesn’t collect them.

I mean, why only #1 and #2 bottles only? I’m throwing away lots of other #1 and #2 plastics. Why can’t these be collected because I believe they are the same material.

Ok. Rant over.

Childcare/Nanny Groups

We are moving to Fayetteville at the end of the year and will likely not put our 9 month old in daycare until the summer. We currently have a nanny and would love to find someone for ~30 hours a week to keep our son in our home until he starts daycare.

We are coming from Nashville where there is a huge Facebook group connecting families with childcare professionals. Does anything like this exist in Fayetteville? How do people find sitters and nannies?

How much are y’all making on DoorDash or UberEats/grocery delivery in this area?

Just curious. Terrible day at work, feeling in desperate need of a change of work environment and thinking maybe I could get by for a little while DoorDashing while I try to find something else

Reminder to vote for Mayor again!

Early voting is happening now at Washington County Courthouse on Dickson & College. It was very easy and no line! Even saw Molly Rawn on the corner holding a sign which I thought was pretty cool!

Gas Stations with Free Air?

Does anybody know of any gas stations in the area that DON'T charge you for air (for tires)? I recently moved to the area and was surprised to find that almost every gas station I've stopped at charges for air.

Free Indoor Basketball Courts

I guess I was spoiled for choice where I used to live, but does anyone know of any free indoor courts in NWA now that it's getting colder?

If not free I'm aware of places like the Springdale Rec center and Jones center.

Just curious!

Unfortunate recent happenings with Mayor Jordan and his campaign team

I'm a lifelong Fayetteville resident and in the past have always voted for Mayor Jordan. He's a nice man who I felt represents our city well in making sure we stay a beautiful college/mountain town. But recently I've discovered some shady things he and his campaign team have done, and I felt they needed to be shared.

First - and mods if this isn't allowed I apologize - he deletes any non-positive comments on his social media. He'll respond to anyone who says they're voting for him or congratulating him on 16 years as mayor, but anyone asking questions or commenting something that doesn't paint him in a positive light gets ignored or deleted. See proof below.

Comments a concerned resident made on a recent post of Mayor Jordan's - they have since been deleted, while positive comments stay up

Next is an odd survey dozens of voters in town got from "Oxbridge" - in reality it was from his campaign manager - that asks questions that paint him in a positive light and others that paint his competitor in next month's runoff, Molly Rawn, in a negative light. Link to the survey (which is now closed) and proof below.

One of the questions on the survey indirectly blaming the closure of long-time Fayetteville restaurants on the Fayetteville A&P Commission, aka Experience Fayetteville, which mayoral candidate Molly Rawn is CEO of

Another question on the survey indirectly promoting an achievement of Jordan's. This survey was sent to dozens of voters in the city

I'm not posting this to tell you who to vote for, just trying to enlighten everyone on some disappointing recent happenings. With that being said, be sure to vote in the runoff if you're a resident of Fayetteville! Early voting is next Monday-Wednesday (closed Thursday/Friday for Thanksgiving) and Monday, December 2nd, while runoff election day is December 3rd.

Nurseries with good native seed selection?

Looking to get some native flower seeds to stratify over winter in prep for next spring. I was going to go through an online retailer like Prairie Moon, but wanted to see if any of the local nurseries or shops had a solid selection before I went that route?

Thank you!

Plumbing Apprenticeship

I’ve been researching and sending out applications for plumbing apprenticeships but people and companies aren’t getting back to me. Anyone know a skilled, responsible, organized plumber who might be looking for a low cost helper/apprentice? My plumbing knowledge is low, but I’m eager to learn and put work in.
