Welcome
FalloutSettlements is a subreddit devoted to expanding the creativity of Settlement building in Fallout 4. Come here to look for inspiration for a build theme, a creative way to build in a location, or solve a tricky building problem. Challenge yourself to something new! Rules:
1. No Hate Speech No homophobia, racism, hate speech, etc.
2. Be Kind To Your Fellow Builders If you don't have anything nice to say, you probably shouldn't be saying it. Please keep your criticisms constructive, and don't bash other players. This also applies to your speech; please refrain from using hate speech or making hurtful comments.
3. Don't Double (or triple even) Post While you can post updates to any WIPs, please refrain from reposting your finished builds. Instead, please create a photo gallery (such as on imgur) to include all of your photos in one place. Duplicate posts will be considered spam (which isn't cool on any subreddit).
4. No Fighting If someone breaks the rules, please report it or reach out to one of the moderators. Fighting is never the way to go, especially not on the internet.
5. No Memes Everyone knows the jokes, they aren't funny any more!
6. No Selling While your builds may be lovely, you cannot try and sell anything in-game for real money here.
Tips:
Please post screenshots taking during the daytime making it easier to see the image. Of course, night-time images are allowed, but try to include at least some day-time images as well.
When on PC, you can take pictures from better angles using the "tcl" or "tfc" command in the console. Press the ~ key, then type "tlc/tfc" and press Enter. Do the same to return to the regular camera.
Be sure to check the wiki for more tips, hints, inspiration and FAQ

I just discovered the magic of setscale. what are yall favorite console commands for building? I'm ready to start leveling up my builds
So I built my capital with a Fort made of Barn walls, going for a poor colonial town vibe, but post Minutemen Ending it feels proper I make the town fort be out of Concrete, but my town is so built up I dont want to tear out the whole Fort and player home, I just want to replace the walls
Heck if there were walls the same size, that snapped to barn walls and had the same stone texture as Barn stone foundations that would be ideal
does such a mod exist?
Everytime i bring my airship to frar habor it crashes has this happened for someone else
What is the best settlement for building a player house? (Fallout 4)
I was playing fallout london and snapped a few pieces together and one transformed into this and I was wondering if there is a way to have this appear more often or if there is a mod i can use for the shack bridges
Im planning on making a caravan stop/ outpost style camp in fallout 76. What are some very flat and ideally near a road or trail locations

I want to make Sanctuary my home base, but some of the mods I come across make it look eerily pre-war and out of place. I want mine to appear as if there was an active effort to piece the houses back together and clean them, but they're still old, rusty and part of the wasteland. Like Covenant. Would it make sense?
Can I kill the Overseer as soon as we meet and get all the goodies or do I miss out on a few things? I just don't want to go through all her BS again.
So if you read above you know I’m working on building settlements and such for my different characters and for different faction ideas I had but I’m struggling to come up with a lot of designs and ideas for the different builds because when I look online for inspiration I don’t see really any raider themed settlements or other ideas for settlements I had but I wanted to come to the community for help and see what ideas y’all might be able to help me with. Here’s a list of my characters and their factions so y’all can see what factions I’m trying to figure out along with little notes about different settlements I had for ideas and what I was thinking for them (note: I am on pc but I don’t use mods)
Cassidy: raider overboss
Colonel summers: enclave colonel using enclave remnant builds
Sentinel Nate: sentinel with the brotherhood of steel
General Elizabeth: general of the minuteman
The Fixer: Head railroad operative
Greetings Wastelanders!
You can currently place candy bowls in your Shelters. This allows players to re-enter the shelter and grab another go, AS MANY TIMES AS THEY WANT!
This really helps for the dailies, if you keep it stocked.

I’ve just started building this Minutemen building and had two ideas in mind but I’m stuck for choice. Shall I make it a presidential style Minutemen HQ or into a Minutemen Court? Any other ideas are welcome as well just not sure what to fully do with it atm. 👌🏻
Years ago when I played, when I got to Vault 88 I laid vault floors down from the entrance all the way to the caverns that take you to the water purifier. From there I ran power connectors along the metal rail in the ceiling, then a couple of towers to connect the purifier to power. Was pretty slick. At the moment I cannot even reliably get power to the experiment devices. I have the vault power conduit on a vault wall outside the already existing hallway. From there I am connected to the terminal, then the terminal connects to each of the 4 devices. All is working. Then, with a 2 wide run of floors that go all the way to the cavern I put up a wall and another Vault power conduit. No power to the purifier, and no power to a light I put on the wall to test. I put a lamp down and moved it along the floor until I went too far from the power conduit. I put up a wall and another conduit, but I cannot get the lamp to light any further away.
I remember this being a bit easier in the past. I hope I am just forgetting something, and the power system isn't bugged.
