I'm trying to get new wheels on my car but they rub to much to drive on stock suspension how do you/what do you cut to make room for the wheel without messing up the entire car
How slow are they realistically?
and what are good ways to make power out of it?
Still drives like the day I bought her!
hey everyone , i’m new to this forum. so i have an issue with my 2014 subaru brz where when i turn it on , it would make a knocking sound & shake & go away after a couple of seconds. i’m not too familiar with anything as i’m new to cars, etc. but the oil is pretty new , i’ve changed it a couple of days ago & the sound is still there. any suggestions ??
I'm getting my car designed and wrapped. I was wondering if someone could give me the dimensions of the vents to this hood, since that's what the artist needs.
So I’m going with a dragon scale red wrap but before I decided a wrap I was going for Neo chrome wheels but idk if that would look as good with the wrap anymore so give me some recommendations to check out!!! PLEASE AND THANK YOU ALL!!!
Spotted oil leak whilst changing my headers, car has only 10k miles on it. Is it anything to be worried about?
Hello, lurker coming out of the shadows today to ask for help from fellow 86ers. My 2013 FRS has a rebuilt engine installed with 8000 miles. Replaced front cover with a loud whining noise coming from the oil pump. The codes P0017(Camshaft Position B – Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 1)).and P0019 (Crankshaft Position - Camshaft Position Correlation (Bank 2 Sensor B)) had been diagnosed. Traction Control light stays on and pressing the button and VSC Sport button does nothing. It's basically on a limp mode. I have been told by people I need a new ECU. Toyota told me I needed a new ECU so they can reprogram it. A couple of people told me I need a new Crankshaft sensor.I'm hearing so many different possibilities and opinions.🤷♂️. And yes, rod-knock on the original engine, I don't want to talk about it💀. Any experience, comments or concern is highly appreciated.
My ‘24 BRZ tS is currently in “storage” as of last week (mind you I daily a WRX 52 weeks of the year), but my cousin happens to have a spare set of wheels with blizzaks laying around. It’s a Konig with two sets of bolt patterns and hoped the other bolt pattern would be 5x100 but looks like it isn’t. I do have some options if I do the adapter to 5x114.3. Either run the Konig but fairly aggressive offset then or take the blizzaks and toss them on my stock WRX wheels that I still have.
Now even if the Konigs had fit, I wouldn’t really be taking the BRZ out too far or driving spiritedly in anyway. It’s just something to have the proper tires to take it out at least once maybe twice a month (20-30 mins) barring there’s no snow/salt on the ground just to keep everything flowing instead of sitting during the winter for the next like 4-5 months and crossing my fingers there’s some random 45 degree Fahrenheit days to go for a drive. This is just a stop gap solution for now, maybe a year or two, until I can run the stock PS4’s down for all seasons and then get a track/summer wheel and tire setup.
Hello fellow humans, like it says in the title I have some PLM UEL careless headers on my 2018 Brz that make a whistle noise exactly like an exhaust leak. However, there is no leakage whatsoever. I believe it’s just because it is a cat-less header and with the header being thin and hollow. Some noise is the be expected.
Now I am mainly curious if I could wrap them in a heat shield to lower that noise so that I don’t hear this while I’m driving with my windows down through town so much. It’s not terribly noticeable unless you’re looking to hear it or you’re riding ton a road with a lot of buildings and it echos off of them. But I’m thinking the heat shield might act as a sound damper as well as the obvious.
Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
Hello Guys,
I am planning to install Tomei UEL header, Tomei Overpipe, and MXP Comp RS Catback.
After install, I need a tune right?
If yes, I plan to buy a OFT tune, but I have a stupid question,
Do I need a dyno tune? or can I just buy OFT tune and just install the tune myself?
Thanks in advance.
Hello,
anybody fitted these wheels in Germany ?
everything went well with TÜV eintragung ?
some pics of how they look on the car ?

2013 GT86 i’m looking to buy -
Had an engine rebuild due to a recall, Also clutch replaced, Brembo brakes added, and also replaced head gaskets due to a cam carrier oil leak.
Is this a positive thing that these issues have already “happened” and been fixed?
Hello,
I have a 2018 BRZ that the previous owner installed a single exit exhaust. I'm wondering if anybody has an stl file for 3d printing a cover for the left (drivers) side. Thanks in advance!
Had to remove the drivers side door card to replace the mirror. The clear plastic film/lining is now slightly torn. Is this something I should look at replacing?
I have a 1st gen AT I'm going to swap to a MT. I'm collecting parts now. There's a few YT videos discussing it. I can't find much info about the transmission computer, though. I was at a U-pull parts yard, and I couldn't find the computer after taking the whole dash apart. One guy said you could either re-flash the existing, or grab one out of a car with a MT and do a relearning procedure. I can't figure out where the module is though!
The electronics is what concern me, I think the mechanicals I can work out without too much trouble.
Otherwise, I think I have most of the job figured out. I have a trans, pedals, and clutch master cylinder. I'll get a new clutch, fork, and starter. I need a drive shaft, looking around at u-pulls, as I couldn't get one with the trans I got. There's some coolant hoses that are different? and remove a vacuum pump and install a cover on the back of the engine?
Please don't post to just buy a car with a MT. Yes I could do that. No I'm not going to do that.
Hi all,
I decided to park the car away today as the snow started hitting the ground, to store for the next couple months (at least 3 months). After some decision-making and looking around, I knew it wasn't necessary but I wanted to add Stabil-360 to the tank just for peace of mind.
Since the car has a 50L (13gal) tank, it would need roughly 79mil (2.7oz) for these. My hands were too cold to cooperate and I dropped roughly ~8oz in there. On the Stabil FAQ, they state if you put about 4x more than recommended, then you're best trying to burn it off/dilute it etc. I put around 3x the total (8/2.6) and filled up Shell 93 on top of it.
Can I leave the car parked with this, or is it better if I try to correct it by going through another tank? I'd appreciate any advice.
I want to start doing track days next year. Any advice as well as things I need to replace on my BRZ for my first track day? I need some advice about brake setups (Should I change the stock rotors?) as well as tire setups and anything else I might need to know.
After all the modding I did to my car it's ironic I'm looking to go back stock. I'm really torn between what ones to go back to. Have a 16 frs and threw the stock tails back on. Big fan of the brz but the 86 ones got me torn as well.
Can anybody guess what happened to my FRS?
Hi first time here. So i have a 2015 scion frs and well i was doordashing one night and fell asleep. Well i hit a curb pretty hard and i went to go do the alignment a few days later at pep boys. They told me the strut and knuckle were bent and they gave me a quote on it. Im more of a fixing it myself type of guy but this is my 1st car and well i want to know which parts i nessessarily need. I tried looking for oem struts as the full assembly but theyre really hard to look for. I just need the 2 front ones cuz i only hit the front driver side. And i also cant find a knuckle. Ill try showing pictures on wednesday cuz im off work that day. I would really appreciate any feedback and wonder what i should do. (Also my tires are losing some tread already).
