Thought of a kind of less intrusive way to cool oil by connecting the engine side coolant hoses together and running a separate water cooled system ran by its own pump and radiator to the factory cooler plate. Easy to reverse for street use and you're not messing with the oiling system. The idea came to me from looking at turbo cars with water cooled intercoolers. The same parts for intecoolers can be used here.

Certainly nowhere near as efficient as cooling the oil directly with how small the cooler plate is but should theoretically incur zero oil pressure loss over stock setup compared to conventional air-cooled oil setup (they shouldn't cause a drop if set up well). The benefit of this is a greater difference between the oil and water temps compared to using 190F/90C engine coolant to do the job. Perhaps the stock oil cooler plate can be swapped with a bigger one? I would like to see someone experiment with this or I could use my Miata as a lab-rat someday.

With the small factory plate, short oil residence time will mean slower heat transfer but the water pump can be controlled to an efficient speed paired with a good radiator to hopefully have a meaningful effect to be useful for track/drift use.

Today I threw on 16x6.5 blizzak ws90s and WOW the ride quality is noticeably better. I knew it would improve but I was genuinely surprised by how much smoother everything is now.

Hi, looking to get either lowering springs + spacers + camber bolts up front or coilovers next spring.

My biggest concern is budget of course. A set of decent coils are around 1.5k ish and i could get springs…etc for around 800.

So my questions is if i was to get in to tracking or auto crossing and even drifting can the springs keep up? or should i just save up for some coils

hi friends 🎀 I’ve always wanted a coupe and have liked the 86/brz a lot but I wanna get the automatic ! (I don’t know how to drive a manual lmao). I’ve went to see and test drive the red GR86 in person and fell in love, but haven’t seen the brz/test driven it irl yet. Are there any seasoned 86 owners that can give me some of your thoughts on the car (your experience with it, daily usability, insurance rates, etc.) that might make it a better option than the brz? Did your insurance go up a lot with a new 86?

I was told it should be blue.

1 - Does anyone have red coolant in their FRS, 86 or BRZ ?

3 - Also, how often should I change it now that I have a supercharger + E85 ?
