That player was so beautiful to watch, real raw talent.
I always get a "love the shirt!" or "cool hat!" when I'm out wearing my Expos stuff. It's like Expos fans are few & far between these days, but they always brighten up and smile when they see that iconic logo. Sometimes it goes further and someone will add, "Maybe we'll see them back some day!". Anyway, was just curious if other fans receive cheerful compliments when they wear their team gear when they're out and about.
Pour quand un petit stade autour de Montreal (Milb, Frontière league). Baseball hot dog plaisir +++
Is the big O available if Tropicana is not available at start of next season? I can’t be the only one who’s had this thought today lol
It happens about 32:00 minutes in....the previous posters made an error just like the pitcher on Rose's tapper back to the mound.
Watching the last out in Oakland reminded me of the lump in my throat and the sadness that I had when the Expos had their final out at Olympic Stadium. I don’t even like the A’s, but it just reminds me of “Nos Amours”. Oakland was set up to fail like they set up Montreal to fail.
I’ve always wondered why the 2004 Montreal Expos jackets had an American flag on the right sleeve. Does anyone know why?
Due to some last minute hiccups, me and my friends arrived late to the coliseum yesterday and missed out on the giveaway item which was a killer Vida Blue bobblehead. The bobblehead displays him holding his 1971 Cy Young and MVP award in the crisp yellow jerseys. I tried to buy a few off people I saw with multiples but no dice. As we were leaving I saw a gentleman in an Expo’s hat holding a few bobblehead boxes, so I asked him if he’d sell me one. He quickly said “Just have one bud, I only have so much room in my luggage. We’re visiting” he promptly gave me and my friend a bobblehead each. We reaffirmed we’d be willing to buy them off him and he reassured us he wanted us to have them. It was an incredibly kind gesture on an emotional day for me and my friends knowing this was the last time we’d see our Oakland A’s play the cross bay rival Giants. So shoutout you sir, and hopefully someday baseball can return to Oakland & Montreal. Cheers Expo’s fans.
Hard to explain the heartbreak I felt 30 Years ago. I have never called Sports Radio call-in shows but man did I during those bleak days! But when it finally was announced that there would be no World Series about a month later I was devastated. It honestly changed my life. Sort of a boy becoming a man moment and understanding the cynicism of life and the control by The Powers that Be with the $$$$.
Here is one article on the ignoble Anniversary: https://www.e5280sports.com/single-post/the-1994-mlb-season-30th-anniversary-of-the-season-that-was-cut-short
Hopefully there will be more....for the 1994 Montreal Expos were a Special Team!
