Does epic pay the devs? Or do the creators choose to have it appear on the weekly games?
Both games are free to claim on your epic games account if you are currently an Amazon Prime member.
If you are on windows 11 and are having this "Epic Games Launcher Setup Wizard ended prematurely" then I have the fix for you. DON'T USE THE WEBSITE TO DOWNLOAD THE MSI INSTALLER. You will ALWAYS get this error. To fix this you want to download from the Microsoft Store. If you don't install from the Microsoft you will spend alot of time trying to get it downloaded and potentially wiping your computer when you don't need to.
The problem is simple. Look at Super Meat Boy Forever for example. I own game on PC. Game is priced at 16 € on PC. On mobile it costs just 1 €.
Epic Store is saying I need to buy it again. Of course I have paid 16 € so in this case cross ownership might make sense. But imagine you buy 1 € mobile game and get 16 € PC version. Makes no sense.
And this is just one example. Many paid mobile games that are same as PC version cost less because selling games on mobile platform is hard as everyone plays free to play (mostly gatcha) games.
So I think long term Epic can't really do anything to enable cross ownership unless developer decides it wants to support it.

For those that don't know, the initial Tech Support Megathread was created due to community demand. The subreddit was riddled with tech issue posts which made it hard to sort through. So on 29-Jan-2020, we made it a rule to organize things in the megathread.

Review – Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery – 6/10 (decent)
Despite appearances, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery isn’t really a painting game. It’s instead more of a point-and-click visual novel about artists.
The little painting that does happen involves drawing blobs of a certain color on a canvas, which the game then autocompletes. Finding the correct color requires solving puzzles scattered around the protagonist’s apartment. None of these are remotely difficult though. Behind the Frame is an exceedingly easy game that is best viewed as more of a film — an animated film with a gorgeous anime-inspired art style.
This movie comparison works especially well with Behind the Frame's hour-long runtime. Telling a story is the game’s main focus, leaving little room for anything else.
The narrative succeeds within the confines of Behind the Frame, but it’s not the most unique premise. I correctly predicted the whole story by the game’s second act. Even so, the final chapters still made me emotional due to a strong execution.
Behind the Frame is best played through in one sitting because of the short playtime. It’s also very simple in terms of both gameplay and narrative. This works to the game’s benefit by providing a universally-meaningful experience, but it leaves behind those looking for something more complex.

Journal Entry:
My New Year’s resolution was to beat all of Epic’s weekly, free games and document it on Reddit until May. Playing this week’s game, Behind the Frame: The Finest Scenery, was my way of procrastinating during a stressful evening.
My logic was that Behind the Frame seemed to be some sort of painting game, and painting is a calming activity. I try not to know anything about these games beforehand beyond a cursory glance at the Epic store page. So in typical fashion, I was completely wrong about Beyond the Frame.
Playing through the game in its entirety took me just over an hour. Things started off pretty chill, with my character pouring coffee and cooking breakfast as she prepared her canvas. It definitely helped that the game’s anime-inspired art style made everything look just beautiful.
But as the story progressed, it became more clear that Behind the Frame was attempting to tug at my heartstrings.
I’d say the game did a pretty good job too. It wasn’t a very unique experience, but I appreciated what Behind the Frame was going for and would be lying if I said I wasn’t starting to tear up near the end.
Despite not actually being very calming, I do think Behind the Frame helped me de-stress. There’s something very cleansing about getting into a piece of media and forgetting about your real worries for a bit. As always, if you'd be interested in that, the game is free until Thursday morning.
I don’t imagine next week’s game will provide the same experience as Behind the Frame. Not only does Undying seem to have a darker atmosphere, but it’ll also be the longest game yet. Looks like I have a lot in store!
I recently moved, and took with me an external Hard Drive. It had Epic Games games, and I plugged it to a new laptop, where I already had epic games installed with like 2 games. I'd like to change the file for the game library to the one on the hard drive, so I can start my games without having to reinstall them all, cause I don't have enough space left to copy them on the internal hard drive. How to do it pls
https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/mobile
This is what I am talking about.
It does not let me claim them on MacOS Google Chrome laptop.
Is possible that Bandai Namco, Capcom, Konami, will publish their games on EGS too? Thank you
Just like on the pc version
the same title
I want to preface this by saying that I think Epic moving in to the mobile market is both logical and an actively pro-consumer thing for them to do. However, this took way too long for the store to be populated with third party titles, and the app has some other issues too, which I'll get to in the cons section. While licensing apps to put on the store and getting people to agree takes time, this could've been avoided, had Epic done these deals in advance (the EU ratifying the iOS marketplace has gone on for at least a year, so it's not like they didn't have time).
Anyway, Pros and Cons:
From Left to Right: Store Page, Scrolling down, Unpurchased Game, Settings.
The Epic Store on Mobile has always been a bit of an oddity; it launched to capitalise on the EU's DMA going through, with no regard to store front functionality, or having games that weren't your own. This was a bad move in my opinion; the mobile app was rushed out to meet that deadline, to the point that Netflix had a better app selection than you -- and arguably, a better store, as Netflix does let you search for games on both desktop and mobile despite not having that many; and that was leveraging Google Play!
Much of that sentiment is still true here. It is not finished, and feels as such. While I'm all for multiple store fronts and EGS's general philosophies of breaking up the existing desktop and mobile monopolies, your speed is actively hampering your progress. Epic, you are acting opportunistically, not out of the betterment of everyone who uses your service, and that attitude needs to change, sooner rather than later. Or, to put it another way:
Large meaningful app and store front updates matter more than small ones that capitalise on the news.
Please consider this constructive criticism, and pass it on to the relevant people internally. If you have any questions; I'm free all week =)
Bit of a dumb question, but i'm asking anyway because I'm not sure.
I was given Control for free during the holiday giveaway, I just finished it, It was only the base game, in the store page there's an ultimate edition for Control, (with all DLCS) and also a separate season pass. if I get control ultimate edition is it like buying the season pass? I just get the DLCs? or will ultimate edition give me another copy of control?
I Know if I get the season pass I should just get the DLCs right?
I want to assume its like steam, where if you buy a item or bundle, the bundle only gives you the items you do not already have, but i am unsure, on steam base Control isn't even listed at all, its just ultimate edition from the get go.
So in short: am I basically paying $54 for another copy of control with DLC? or am i paying $54 for just DLC? if it's just DLC I can just get the season pass.
