Hi! My family and I will be moving here in a few days from out of state! I’ve been looking and applying to a lot of jobs but haven’t heard back or the position has already been filled.
Due to my husband’s new job and training schedule, I’m only able to work 2 days a week since he’ll be off for two days to watch the kids while I work. If it’s overnight, I’m able to work full time since he’ll be at home with the kids.
I’m 28 years old, fluent in English and Vietnamese, and I have experience in healthcare. I was a patient transporter, orthopedic technician, EKG tech, and a pharmacy technician. I was trained on the job as an orthopedic tech and an EKG tech so I do not have the official certifications or licenses for it. I never had the official title for CNA/PCA but if the nursing department was short on nurse aides, my hospital would have the ortho tech help out as CNA so I have experience in patient care as well. I was a pharmacy tech in a hospital setting for a little over 3 years so I’m trained in sterile compounding and follow the USP 797 procedures. I only have my current state pharmacy tech license and do not have the national certification. My state did not require it to work in a pharmacy as a tech. I do not have the Texas board of pharmacy license yet but am looking at how to get my current state board license transferred to Texas, if that’s even possible. I would like to stay in healthcare since I have the most experience in this field but I’m open to almost anything for full time overnights though.
If anyone have any leads on remote jobs, I would happy with that as well since that will allow me to work during the day and/or evenings instead of limiting me to only working overnights. I know they’re very competitive and most require experience in remote jobs. I’ve applied to a lot but due to not having any remote experience and most jobs not providing equipment, I haven’t been able to secure a remote position.
I noticed a lot have recommend others to join the military on most of the job posts. I have a disqualifying condition so I’m unable to join and have been turned away by recruiters for it as well when I was 18.
ETA: If the job allows me to bring my 2 year old and 3 month old along, I am able to working during the days and evenings. Most likely, they’re daycare jobs and I’m open to them as well if anyone knows of any job openings at any daycare. I prefer to not leave my kids in daycare without me nearby due to previous bad experiences with my 5 year old.
I’ve been seeing these Pedo/Pedophile viper tags around Ep. Yall know what it is?
Thank you to the moderators of r/ElPaso for the permission to post this invitation.
We are inviting adults who have lived in the United States since January 1, 2015 to participate in research on the human future that involves an interview and survey.
What are our greatest opportunities? Our biggest challenges? How are people thinking about recent challenges, like COVID-19? We’re discussing issues ranging from technology and space to health and the environment. What will people think about emerging issues in 5 years? In 10 years?
There are academic fields of study related to the human future. However, much of this work is done without input from the public. We want to change that.
The interview will take approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours to complete. Participants will receive a $40 Amazon gift card and the opportunity to enter a lottery for a chance to receive a second $40 gift card as compensation for their time and effort.
We have had several dozens of participants from almost 30 states. We need participants from El Paso and nearby areas of Texas and New Mexico.
We want to speak with people across backgrounds. We have already had participants representing many occupations and regions.
Feel free to message u/HumanizingTheFuture with questions. To schedule participation, email the project co-director, Marissa Yingling (email: marissa [dot] yingling [at] louisville [dot] edu).
Preferred: some high school experience; high school degree/GED; technical/vocational/trades training; some college experience. We have hit a maximum sampling of college graduates.
Thank you.
I am actually worried about what is going to happen between today and election night.
This just show the US lacks leadership at the moment and perhaps no future after the election.
Really, I don't see Biden capable of another four years. Democrats calling for a replacement and panicking
Anyone have any recommendations for a good body shop? I remember seeing a similiar post a while back but I have been unable to find it, the body shop was reliable and affordable according to the post, it was located on the west side.

I wanna leave the house for a few hours to try working on some music, are there any places that will let me hang out for free or cheap with my headphones and not get bothered or kicked out? I'd normally use my car but with this heat I'll end up passing out.
Hi!
Myself, and two others (all collage students) have been looking to play 5e for a while now. We really love dnd but always seem to find ourselves with DMs who exclusively do homebrew or other sort of games. We're looking for an in person game, based in Las Cruces or El Paso. And we're just hoping there just happens to be a wonderful GM nearby who's happy to help us out.
All three of us already have character ideas, and are looking to start as soon as we can! Players are also welcome to join our little party of searching for a GM! Thank you!

Son recently graduated high school. Is now interested in pursuing a career in IT through EPCC. He's not sure what path to take (networking, security, etc).
I've told him that this market is saturated as everybody thinks they will make six figures starting, when in reality, they will most likely need to begin at a helpdesk job and work their way up while gathering experience.
How is is the IT field in El Paso? Would you recommend he get A+, Net +, and Sec +...start working with those certs? Or go through a program at EPCC for an associates?
