I am going to the Sun Bowl this Sunday, 6/23, 7:30pm kickoff for the FC Juarez vs Club America soccer match. This is not only my first ever pro soccer match, but also first time going to the Sun Bowl. And also first time going to an event on campus (i.e., Sun Bowl or Don Haskins Center or anything).

As opposed to the Sun Bowl college football game, the internet, specifically UTEP Special Events for this match, is woefully inadequate in terms of giving information. I can't find anything on how much parking adjacent to the stadium actually costs for this particular soccer game. I also have no idea which lots will even be available to the public for this match. The only thing I know from the UTEP website, is that there are 7900 parking spots and the stadium seats 46000. That scares me.

I am trying to get tips on where to park. If I knew what lots were officially open for the game and their cost, I could plan ahead. I don't mind paying, my priority is parking close (to avoid a long walk to the Sun Bowl, because that walk would still be in extreme heat), and not necessarily being in a garage because garages take forever to get out of.

Any tips? I really don't know the area that well, I've only been in EP for less than 2 years and live in the Far East.

Here are some ideas I had:

1.) Just get there whenever and follow traffic into parking at "official" lots for the game, and pay whatever price. Maybe its free or maybe it costs, no clue.

2.) Try to park in the Glory Road Transit Center garage. Based on the Sun Metro site for park and ride sites, sounds like they might have a special event price for parking here. Of course, no idea how much that is for this game. I know this is a garage, but it is awfully convenient. More so than the Sun Bowl Parking garage in terms of getting out of the area on the way out and going home.

3.) I heard the meters are free on Sunday, is that true? I thought about going really early and trying to find street or meter parking near Glory Road Transit Center (like on Baltimore or Cincinnati), to make it a short walk to the Sun Bowl.

4.) Finally, I thought about trying to find street parking around the intersection of Stanton and Rim (on Rim preferably), and then taking the free streetcar to the Glory Road Transit Center, and then walk to the Sun Bowl. The streetcar stops running at 6, so after the game, I would simply walk about a mile back to my car at night, which is much cooler.

Any tips, ideas, thoughts or information that I am unable to find on the internet for parking for this specific event?

edit: before anyone suggests I just use public transportation to get to the event from my house, and then uber/lyft back to my house, I live too far to make that work. I priced out a normal uber from Sun Bowl to my house and it's about $90. I suspect it will have surge pricing after the game and be even more than that.

Hey guys I just recently graduated this past May with a Bachelors in Biological sciences with a biomedical concentration. I was wondering if since I am no longer an undergrad if it’s still possible for me to volunteer in the bio related research labs. I’m still going to continue part-time at UTEP to take some more classes and wasn’t involved much during undergrad but I’m taking an interest now

Im a grad student coming to UTEP this fall, I’ve navigated the classifieds to talk to some people regarding where to stay, is there anywhere else you would suggest looking into? I have no car and I’m new to El Paso, I’m comfortable using public transportation, but I’d still like to stay somewhat near campus.

Anybody who is currently in nursing school or has finished nursing school, do you think it is possible to work 24 hours a week while in phase 3. I am currently in phase 2 and I had some financial setbacks so I’m gonna have to work more than I originally wanted. Originally I was going to work one- 12 hour shift on Sundays but now it seems that in order for me to be stable financially I will have to work 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday so I’m just looking for advice if you think that this is possible or if I should find a different area of study or wait. Hey guys, I am a grad student who will be attending in the fall of 2024. For the last few years I've studied and worked in places that are extremely walkable/have a good subway system. I do have an out-of-state DL, but have not had a car or a need to drive for a while. Do you think I will be able to get by without a car if I live on campus? Or is having a vehicle absolutely necessary in El Paso?

I my consider changing from studing in UTEP to UT Austin does anyone know if the difficult increase there?

Was the course material interesting or fun. Did it make you view math in an entirely different way that you've never considered.

I went here from 2018 to 2020, and it really was the worst time ever. I felt so alone, I kept feeling like everyone was looking at me whenever I walked past them, I was at my social awareness peak and could never make meaningful connections, and I just felt so horrible everyday I walked into that campus. The people who were supposed to help me graduate were also the worst, half the time we couldn't understand stand each other. This was just a very bad time and, whenever I have to go back for any communication I do for my organization, the feelings of dread and despair flood back like the first time I came into that dreaded camps when I registered on that free day EPCC gave us.

Does anyone know if the park mobile at the sunbowl garage takes pictures of license plates?

I recently received 2 checks in the mail from UTEP. It looks like they're a refund but I'm not sure if both checks are valid? How can I find out. I received them about a week apart

3 research papers published in IEEE and springer journals respectively.

how exactly does utep Grading system works? I have recently hear from a TA that a 9 and a 10 its the same as they not =4.0 is that true ?

I’m entering my junior year in the fall. Bio major with intentions of taking the MCAT this coming year and then hopefully applying to med school. UTEP, in my opinion, lacks resources for assisting pre med students with shadowing. Or maybe I’m just not looking or asking in the right places. To current and previous pre med students - where are you shadowing? Recommendations? Did you reach out to that physician on your own?

Recently got admitted as a transfer, but I've been bashing my head in trying to find my username to register for orientation. Idek who I would call either to find this out, and my admission packet has yet to be mailed out. I just wanna register so I can get it out of the way but I can't find my credentials at all.
