Basic Strategies and Stats Explained

I have around 40 hours in this game and finished too easy lots of times, it really seems "too easy" to beat it, but when it comes to "easy" I can never do it. I get to some higher floor - maybe 7-8 and I get a complete garbage layout, bad RNG and I feel like I can never make it.
I know rogue-likes should have RNG as a main thing, but it really sucks when RNG can entirely decide your run. You should always be able to do it, no matter if you get a shitty run.
By comparison, I have played also a lot of Enter the Gungeon and that game really feels like skill is the main thing. Even with bad guns, I could always say "yeah, if I was better this was easy".
I don't want a full 30minute guide or stuff like that, because honestly I don't feel it right now. Maybe with some success I will be encouraged to put more work, but otherwise I would just like some tips. Something like very good starter teams, what to do when you have a bad layout (crystal with 4 doors), what to do when you don't get good RNG (no items / bad dust / bad events).
I've had the game for years, every once in a while I fire it up and try an Easy run. I've made about 30 Easy runs and never won. I can get to floor 11~12 and then my heroes always die as I spend all my food.
I know some basic tricks like positioning heroes in unpowered rooms to decrease spawn surface area, and I always play around Stehle effects (I seem to get at least two "Keep your distance" stehle per run, but I think those are fun because of the module buffs!)
I haven't tried Too Easy yet because ... well, I assume I should be able to beat a mode called "Easy"! I generally play games on increased difficulty mode, so I'm confused that I'm having so much trouble with "Easy" mode.
Should I just try Too Easy? Am I getting trolled by the developers' cheeky naming conventions? Based on some of the posts I'm seeing in this sub history, I'm starting to suspect that I am...
Basically I'm having this problem where my game is apparently not synchronized with the cloud, but every time I try to run a save everything is normal, does anyone know what it could be?
For those of you who loved DotE, what did you guys think of the sequel?
Mine are probs Ken, Gork, Troe, Golgy, Kreyang, Skroig, Rosetta, and Ayairi
Oh and ZORNYU HATBORZ!
Fave Pod is Armory.
The only way I have found so far is giving Sasha a level.
Too Easy, with 3 chars. All lvl 8. 11 previous attempts.
Mizi, Joleri, and Skroig. Dreena died on the way.
I think I actually started with Sara and Gork just to see their story funny enough, and dismissed Sara for new chars to unlock (knew what was coming otherwise). Gork managed to be JUST outside the room before we left an earlier floor.
Funny all those people who landed on Auriga and started the team just died in the dungeon while the native Aurigans that replaced them got up. AFAIK only Joleri even knows what she wants to do up there!
I suppose they picked some of the most obvious Humanoid, non human looking Major Auriga factions (Cult of the Eternal End would be cool tho), but no minor factions aside from Sisters of Mercy, and the only Space faction being the Hissho.
I read the comics and was happy to see Horatio but they never put him in the game.
And their are SO many humans.
Essen and Opbot are cool reps but other than that the characters are kinda cool but lacking in more interesting races and EU reps/to human.
Ftr I partly got this game cause I was looking to get into the games for the lore.
I can't eat when I haven't been hurt, and it doesn't seem like nearly that much food has been used on any of my runs so far.
I got a Switch recently and as Dungeon of the Endless was on sale, I bought it. Its definitely a game more comfortable to play with a mouse. The Switch controls are problematic when you have to react quick, and for pause you have to press the tiny "-" button and the menu doesn't allow you to change controls.
Cleared the escape pod on Too Easy, haven't tried any of the other variants on that difficulty.
Started trying to clear escape pod on Easy, but every time I get to about floor 5+ my heroes just end up melting. I have started trying to use more turrets, and kiting more, but it seems anytime my heroes have to face a wave for more than about 2 seconds they die. I am prioritizing leveling them, and usually have them at or above the same floor level.
Any tips?
I don't have everyone unlocked, so for now I typically start with Josh (for operate at lvl 3) and Stroig/Hineshka/Troe. I've tried others, but that seems to be the most successful for me so far.
Some are more obvious than others and some are just name puns, some are both. so far I got that Sara Numas is Samus Aran, Gork is Duke Nukem, and I'm guessing Max O'Kane is Max Payne. I assume Nurse Ratchet is a nod to Ratchet and Clank in name only, and Ken Massoqui's name is basically masochist. I feel like there's more that I'm not getting, so has anyone else decoded any others?
The save is gone and I didn't get the achievement. Probably nothing to be done just wanted to share my pain with you all. Hope your day is better
Do floors have a way to predict the Exit or other events or is its loading when you open a door.
My friend says the game wont start on steam because it is apparently 32-bit. Anyone in here who has experience running the game on Apple silicon cpus? Also can we cross play between mac and windows pc?
Starting with wes for urgent call, should you start with a dps alongside him or something else?
is there a yt video explaining the basics of strategy in dote?
Picked this up for $5 bucks last week absolutely loving it. Beat it once on very easy, struggling with easy mode, specifically after floor 5-6
Who do you guys like starting with? I've been going with troe and prof. Josh for a runner and for someone who can operate modules for a nice boost.
What are the best modules for kill rooms? I've been picking up nerostun and tear gas for the decreased movement speed and the ÷2 defence on enemies but I still seem to get overwhelmed. Any advice appreciated !
Hey guys, it's my first time playing and I can't figure out how to pick up the Crystal (I think that's what it is, with the yellow symbol) in the last room.
No matter what button I try it doesn't work (ps4 controller)
Does anyone know?
