I don't get why the Boltons get a bad reputation because of their flaying activities but everyone is okay with the Starks enslaving people telepathically?

I’m so glad D&D’s horrible fanfic isn’t canon

I wake up every morning grateful and relieved that Lord Roose is still Warden of the North, and Winterfell is still under the protection of the trueborn Lord of Winterfell, Lord Ramsay. The Seven Kingdoms remain under the just and rightful rule of King Tommen and our Lannister allies, and the filthy liars in House Stark remain destroyed, never to return again.

All is well. Long live Lord Roose and Lady Walda, long live Lord Ramsay and Lady Arya, and long live House Bolton!

Am I the only one that remembers Ice originally being the Bolton family heirloom Skinpeeler? Such a thoughtful gift to the Starks

Anyone Still Spreading Rumors About House Bolton Needs to Watch this Video

Disgusting that people can see Lord Ramsay the Merciful carrying out acts of generosity and then turn around and gossip about him.

A hundred years of House Bolton!

A friendly Dreadfort reminder how GRRM left the story.

Roose Bolton said “I'm sorry, Ramsay. It's a bummer. In reality, you're as dumb as they come. But I needed those Freys and Manderlys real bad and I had to give 'em up just to get Stanis Baratheon off my back. So now we're gonna have to go get more. More leaches, and more soldiers, and more flaying and killing Stanis, Ramsay. And then we're gonna go on even more adventures after that, Ramsay. And you're gonna keep your mouth shut about 'em, Ramsay. Because the world is full of idiots that don't understand what's important. And they'll tear us apart, Ramsay. And not in the fun way. But if you stick with me, I'm gonna accomplish great things, Ramsay. And you're gonna be a part of 'em. And together we're gonna run around the North, Ramsay, we're gonna do all kinds of wonderful things, Ramsay. Rule the North. Just you and me, Ramsay. The outside world is our enemy, Ramsay. We're the only family we've got, Ramsay. It's just Roose and Ramsay. Rrroose and Ramsay and their adventures, Ramsay. Roose and Ramsay, forever and forever, a hundred years of House Bolton, s... things. Leaches. Me and Roose and Ramsay runnin' around and Roose and Ramsay time. Aaall day long forever. All, a hundred days Roose and Ramsay forever a hundred times. Over and over Roose and Ramsay adventures dot com W W W dot Roose and Ramsay dot com W W W Roose and Ramsay adventures all hundred years. Every minute Roose and Ramsay dot com W W W hundred times Roose and Ramsay dot com.”

Interesting thing I’ve noticed about show Ramsay

One thing I’ve noticed about show Ramsay (who I think we can all agree is presented way differently from extra crazy book Ramsay), is every single one of his torture/flaying victims had betrayed his liege lord or broken chain of command. Not excusing his actions because he’s clearly not a good person but just found that interesting.

  1. Theon - betrayed Eddard Stark (known fact)
  2. Ironborn - killed commanding officer to take the terms (Theon witnessed this)
  3. Old lady - betrayed current sitting lord of Winterfell Ramsay (known fact to Ramsay)
  4. His father - betrayed Eddard Stark (known fact). He didn’t get tortured and Ramsay’s motivation was clearly self-preservation but also fits the pattern funny enough

Now his murders are a bit different and seem to be personally motivated but I found it interesting the people he chose to murder on his own side happened to be rapists (when he "saved" Theon, you could argue they were told to rape Theon but they seemed a little too happy to comply). You could argue getting eaten alive by dogs is torture but it’s also not clear the history behind the girls ie if they had committed some betrayal due to lack of backstory. Regardless Ramsay seems to enjoy being his hands dirty so I’ll differentiate based upon that.

Also not counting Sansa’s rape as I don’t think that on par with getting skinned alive. Also per recent history and Westeros, I’m sure that legally would have counted not as rape due to their marriage sadly enough. Interestingly, besides the raping she isn’t shown getting physically beaten the way she was with Joffrey.

We also see plenty of flayed victims but it's unlikely they were all flayed alive (it seems to be a lot of effort for how many people they had to flay).

Not here to argue show Ramsay is a good guy (and book Ramsay is a completely different beast) but just a pattern I’ve noticed with his flaying victims.

The high disciplined Bolton army with it's shieldwall being the best and most qualified force in the whole world under Ramsay's leadership would defeat ALL 100,000 wights and Night King alone. This is what they took from us

The Pink Letter - A Dramatized Reading

What it probably sounded like when our kind and noble Lord made perfectly reasonable requests of the cowardly bastard crow after his lovely bride and faithful dog were stolen.

Alternate Fanfic-Robb wins War feat. Roose Bolton

I've had a strange obsession with the Boltons lately so I feel this is a good place for this alt theory.

Say everything goes right for Robb, he doesn't betray the Freys and Theon betray Robb, Robb sacks kings landing and returns north as king.

For leading half the army, and advising Robb, and for his cunning Roose is named as Robbs Hand, Theon becomes king of Iron Islands in an alliance.

Roose and Robb may not see eye to eye but Roose proves an invaluable ally, as the early years of Robbs rule is plagued with instability, Karstark uprising, and Euron/Victarion rising against Theon, this leads to Robb occupying Iron Islands and Theon to plot against Robb.

Given Robbs previous treatment to insubordination/traitors he grows more tyrannical, and allows Roose to reinstate flaying, and Ramsey becomes a royal spymaster who extracts information through torture.

What if

What if Ramsay won the Battle of the Bastards and Sansa kills herself? How would this change the plot?

I don't like Sanse and Jon. Generally they are okay, but sometimes they irritate me and Ramsay is my favorite villain and I wanted to create an alternative story about how he wins.

I wish Everyone a good day.

Reason behind the attack on Winterfell in the books?

I'm on my second readthrough of the series and just finished Clash of Kings. As far as I can figure, Rob Stark didn't go back on his promise to the Freys until long after Ramsay's taking of Winterfell and capture of Theon. Any theories as to why he did it? Or is it actually explained somewhere and I've just missed it? Taking Winterfell is a big move in itself, but add to that the slaughter of Rodrik Cassel's forces and all those other Northmen and I'm really wondering what the plan was.
