Sorry if this has been posted before or explained, I couldn't find anything while searching.
I can see how to sell and view common valuables but how do I sell uncommon ones? If I buy from a vendor or pick up in the world they aren't viewable or sellable to any faction, what's the point?
Honestly, as someone who's playing a Necrosis Warrior, both the Legendary Upgrade for the Dark Shard sword, as well as the Death Mask helmet ruin my build if I get them.
Well, don't get them then? Sure, good plan, until I get forced to accept them as a reward for a companion quest, even if I specifically do not loot the chest at the end.
To be more specific, I run a Necrosis build with the Imperial Knot, which lets me have 10 Necrosis Stacks, but Dark Shard legendary makes it that every Necrosis stack instead causes a little Necro explosion. Cool, but not even comparable to me using Deadly Ground once and having every enemy, even elites, tick to death because of Necrosis, which crits when chilled, which then applies shocked and chilled with my build.
i was doing all the quests after chapter 10, but suddenly realized my teammates woudn't shower Rook with praise in battle anymore, is that a bug or something? I'm sure my Rook did the most killing blow
My bf (25m) has been watching me (24m) play DAV for the past few weeks, and he really likes Neve. He likes her sarcastic one liners and general over it attitude lol which tbh I do too.
So last night he asks if he can play and I tried to tell him he should at least start with inquisition to have some context but he declined. He makes his Qunari shadow dragon warrior and low key kind of rushes through the character creation.
Now, we’re in the game itself and this man is SKIPPING ALL OF THE DIALOGUE TO GET TO NEVE. I’m like bro you’re going to be so confused, he’s like i don’t care. He also told me he’s romancing her (he’s gay) so idk guys I might be cooked.
i guess if you pet enough cats around dock town, this room near wharf crossing will open up
Hi, I've been loving the game so far but having an issue in the last gambit issue that is preventing me from finishing the game. Trying my luck here while sitting through the cutscenes for the third time, hoping someone has experienced this and/or knows what to do.
Most of the level has been playing fine, but getting to a certain boss fight (Elgar'nan's wrath) and it just doesn't appear. Tried reloading the most recent autosave and it worked the first time but gave me Rook's preset but bald, a glitch I've had before and could fix easily enough but I don't have access to the Lighthouse now - am I just supposed to finish the game without the Rook I've played the whole thing with?
Every attempt since has come with an error message and being booted into the menu. Tried rebooting the game only to get an hour into the mission to the same point with the same result.
To get to this point where I can't even finish the game after 100 hours of playing is infuriating, and I really hope someone here has an idea of how to fix if my third attempt doesn't work out because I don't know what else to do. Have tried changing graphic settings since I heard that helps with the error on the reloads sometimes but to no avail.
I recently bought a theme from a merchant to change my lighthouse’s theme only to not know how to do it once I got back? I read that the place to do it is supposed to be above the living room, but there’s nothing clickable up there to change it.
I’ve not played DAV yet, but I’m up to the point in DAI where >!it’s either Stroud or Hawke you leave in the fade!< does either option effect DAV?
….Andraste and the Maker? If yes, what’s the statue doing deep in the Arlathan Forest?
If not, why does this look familiar? 🤔
I always saved Treviso so far. Wanted to change that up once to see the difference but turns out i'm a sentimental fool and feel so damn bad for Lucanis i couldn't continue playing lol. This guy has been through so much and now his city is destroyed as well.
So to all who played both, i just wanted to ask you how much of a difference it makes. Are there many new scenes or quests? How much more of Dorian, Mae, Viper and Tarquin do we see? I read somewhere that you still get the Threads as major players. Does Neve get more scenes? I know Lucanis gets less.
Thanks a lot for any answers! I kinda need to know if it's worth powering through the heartache lol.
I am new to the DA series, having finished DAO and DA2 and recently begun DAI. I am mostly up on the lore but have a hard time understanding what the Inquisition exactly is?
I am no seeking Wikipedia definitions but want it explained in your own words what exactly it is supposed to be. It's explained that the Seekers reformed it after the temple of sacred ashes explosion on the orders of the late Divine Justinia.
But what are they exactly? How are they not part of the Chantry or Templars? Isn't an Inquisition a group meant to investigate? Who exactly are they investigating? As a student of history I am well versed in the Spanish Inquisitions of late medieval Europe who South Catholic heretics & supposed followers of witchcraft (also Jews and Muslims and Protestants). As a Star Wars Fan I am well versed in the Inquisitorious who seek out rogue Jedi and Force Users.
So who are the Inquisitors of DA seeking? Blood Mages? Apostates? I don't understand what their mission is. It doesn't seem to be tied to the breach in the Veil as it was also a contingency plan Justinia had if the peace between Mages and Templars didn't work out. So what is their exact nature of investigation? Surely a better title than Inquisitor could be used like Arbiters or Negotiators since they seem to be about restoring order through establishing Peace and now closing the Breach's in the Veil.
Can someone elaborate for me?
I have been struggling with this game since release, it never felt right, but i finally did, for some reason everything just clicked and I had one hell of a time, and I really enjoyed it.
Just wanted to share with someone.
Varric is the only entity that can call me “kid” and not offend me. Doesn’t matter if I’m a grown ass adult. Varric can throw around any nickname he wants.
I was looking at these murals from the beginning of the game in Solas's hideout under "Our Lady of Victory" and I was wondering what they are depicting exactly? It seems like the creation of the Veil, but I'm not sure who those figures standing off to the side are. I put spoilers so that the comments can be spoiler-y if needed.
Hello all again. I just reached level 23 with my champion in Dragon Age Inquisition. I regret not playing this game sooner: first time playthrough are always special! I have the battlemaster armor with solid modifications in the armor: it's 256 armor protection.. I noticed the Griffon Plate armor schematic. Is the Griffon plate armor worth crafting for my warrior? I am following a guide for my champion build: The guide said I have the option to follow the champion two handed build or the one handed/shield build. So my question is what would your preference be for a champion build: Two handed build or sword/shield build? Thank you!
There hasn't been a sale in ages and I just completed everything in origins, I know 2 isn't that great but I have an itch to check it out, just don't want to pay 30 dollars for it.
Hey all! Trying to be careful of spoilers but was hoping someone might be able to help, since most posts I've found searching only talk about the story importance of the order you play DLCs in, but don't really talk about any impacts on importing the save into future titles.
If I finished my campaign, imported and played Witch Hunt, and then imported and played the Awakening content, will my Witch Hunt decisions still carry over into future titles? I romanced Morrigan, so I wanted to be cautious in case I need to replay it again after finishing Awakening. Appreciate the help!
Solas joined us for those few smaller fights in the build up before transforming into the Dreadwolf form to take on Lusacan. My personal opinion is that in the finale, instead of Solas getting to finish off Lusacan and then us fighting Elgar'nan, it should've been: the blight has been removed, and now it's a fair fight but it's Solas in Dreadwolf form AND our team taking on both Lusacan AND Elgar'nan. With the Eluvian Battle theme playing in the background. It feels absolutely ridiculous that we could've killed Elgar'nan on our own without the help of one of the literal Elvhen Gods around.
Another opinion but I don't know how feasible it would've been: allowing us to control Solas in Dreadwolf form for that battle against Lusacan. It feels like a wasted opportunity never letting us fight Lusacan, THE BIGGEST DRAGON in the entire series and that Thedas has ever seen. We got to fight Corypheus' dragon at least?
Hi guys!
Spoilers this post might contain spoilers for ALL DRAGON AGE GAMES OR MEDIA.
Also, this is my first postever so I am sorry if I do this incorrectly. Please inform me if I do anything wrong.
I'm playing DA:TV and am almost done with it! While playing I created a theory on what the blight is exactly and what it is doing. I have played all the dragon age games, but haven't consumed much of the other types of media for my points of reference.
TLDR: My theory is that since the the blight is a remnant of the titans it is attempting to repair the titans skin/organs and make them functional again.
So, we learn from veilguard that the blight is a corrupted piece (correct me if I'm wrong but I think it was their dreams specifically) of the Titans that has been warped by fear/malice/hatred into the malevolent force it is.
We learn from The Descent DLC that the Titans are absolutely massive beings and that they house essentially entire cities/civilizations within their bodies, and that lyrium is their blood. Which would make the "stone" their bones/skeletal systems.
This can the start to explain the nature of the blight itself. It is organic and fleshy in nature, and it's spreads like an infection across the land. In the games, and Veilguard especially, we see that it is a bloody and gorey substance that spews organic matter when destroyed, and the darkspawn in this game are particularly fleshy looking compared to past DA games.
This then can explain what it's motivations are with the blights we see throughout the dragon age timeline. It is the titans attempting to repair it's fleshy parts such as it's heart, eyes, skin, etc.
Furthermore, it can explain what the darkspawn are as well. They would be functioning as essentially the "immune system" of the Titans. Hurlocks, Genlock, Ogres, and all other types of darkspawn act as essentially white blood cells or antibodies and attempt to clear any foreign bodies from the Titans. The foreign bodies in this case being any of the flora/fauna we see as well as people (Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Qunari). It also explains why it can infect and corrupt them because it is attempting to incorporate them into/back into itself and use them to help facilitate repairs.
This then brings forward the question what are the other races exactly? Let's start with dwarves I guess.
Dwarves say they "come from the stone". The stone within the context of this theory being the Titans "bones". Harding/Valta also introduced the concept of "isatunoll" or essentially a state of being the dwarves were in where they were all one with each other/the Titans. This makes me think they were a type of "cell" within or a type of fauna in symbiosis within the Titans in the past. When the Titans were defeated by the evanuris the Dwarves either evolved to not need the Titans anymore and/or have become cancerous to them. This would explain why their societies are attacked by blights because they are being reincorporated into the body (esentially becoming symbiotic again) or eradicated because they are a cancer to The Titans.
Their "evolution" or adaption to survive independent from the titans was largely made possible by their ability to naturally work with and understand lyrium which is Titans blood. It is also the whole basis of their economy as well, but a Titans "Immune System" wouldn't want them taking or harming its "blood" which is another reason why the blights/darkspawn attack them.
Next we have elves who, as we know, stole the "dreams" of the Titans and locked them away creating the blight. (This can also account for why dwarves don't dream because they were apart of the Titans when that happens and therefore had their dreams "stolen" as well), so the titan is attempting to reclaim/incorporate the dwarves for this reason as well.
Lastly, other flora/fauna and the humans/quanri would be foreign bodies to the titans (esentially bacteria and germs to us) and therefore their "immune system" would attempt to eradicate or incorporate them as well. Hence why there are brood mothers of different species. They essentially help make more types of darkspawn or "immune system cell".
All of this would also explain the "talking" the darkspawn and grey wardens hear as well. It is them being in that state of "Isatunoll" Harding mentions. The Titans and dwarveos used to be in a state where they were always "signing" to each other as explained by Harding in the veiguard. This also explains partially what The Mother was talking about about in DAO:Awakening with her not hearing the "song" anymore because she was in that "Isatunoll" state until awoken.
A friend of mine offered a question about this theory as well that I believe I can answer He pointed out that in The Descent DLC that it is specifically stated that there is no blight present at all in the titan you are inside of. This could be explained in a rather rational way.
In the veilguard it is stated that when the ancient magisters breached "The Black City" they release a small piece of the blight and that the majority of it is sill trapped there. We also know that there was more than 1 titan as well because they are always referred to in the plural. So, it is entirely possible that the parts of the blight which were released contain the essence of specific Titan's. For instance the blight in thedas contains the essence of 1 or more specific Titan(s) ( Titans A, B, or C) so it attempts to repair that/those titans, but avoids titans D, E, and F because it wasn't apart of those ones.
This further can explain the nature of the blights. They could have been moving towards the specific Titans they need to "heal", and perhaps they have to get to a vital part of the Titan to fully fix it (ie. The Brains or Heart). Which is why the darkspawn hordes attempt to move in a specific direction with a goal.
This raises another question though which is why do they need Archdemons to be more effective? Well we learn in the veilguard that the archdemons are just dragons that were enslaved by the Evanuris. We know that dragons are intelligent, but in a way that is different from humanoids. Then when they are infected by the blight maybe they enter into a higher "Isatunoll" state and are able to better understand the "song" and therefore direct the horde where it needs to go in order to be the most effective. It also explains why the darkspawn and wardens can't fully understand the "singing". After all the "song" is being "sung" by beings that are more powerful than gods, so it would be hard for mortals to understand their extremely complex emotions/thoughts directly. Same goes for the lesser darkspawn since they are just twisted versions of the humanoid races.
Furthermore since the archdemons were bonded to and could understand the evanuris perhaps that is how they can act as conduit between the titans and the darkspawn. The archdemons have a sort of understanding of the mortals minds through that bond and therefore act as an intermediary between the tmTitan's will and the lesser darkspawn.
This brings me to the Evanuris, so what happened to them/how did they became so corrupt/violent, and why when realsed in the veilguard are they spreading the blight? The short asnswer is that they are corrupted by it. Afterall, all of their actions throughout the veilguard appear to spread the blight, and therefore further it's goal of resurrecting the Titans.
It can also explain why Ghili'nan was more physically warped then Elgarnan. The veilguard explains that Ghili'nan was originally a mortal elf who rose to the status of an Evanuris while the rest of the Evanuris were spirits who made their corporeal forms from the Titans. Since she was originally mortal and therefore a "foreign body" to the Titans and was warped more by exposure to the blight. the other Evanuris and Silas had their bodies made directly from the titan, and are therefore are already "apart" of it.
This is the extent to which I have flesh out this theory! Let me know what you think and thank you for reading.
I'm in Solas's prison trying to get out. I'm calling it, I've suspected for a long time (and I'm not gonna look at comments until I finish the game): Varric has been dead this whole time. Solas killed him in the prologue. Let's see if I'm right
