I'm an experienced player and can get ~900k score in up to level 16 songs. The issue is I slightly mistime steps at random. Even playing on keyboard, I can get to less than 10 greats consistently, but can never quite get there. I'm not really the type to grind the same song over and over for the PFC though, maybe that's the issue. Also I play musical instruments in a loose, "off the grid" style, so maybe that's actually hurting

Yes, the guy in the video does acknowledge the collaboration with Konami

After getting 1P for 8 times, finally I made it!

Today I was playing my local Round One and there was this dude playing Maimai really obnoxiously.

-He was shouting and exclaiming constantly.

-He was hitting the buttons much harder than he needed to.

-Between songs/games he would hit the buttons just to make noise.

-Less irritating, but he was also dancing around between games.

Aside from being annoying, all of the noise legitimately affects the performance of other rhythm gamers. I'm sure he must have been annoying the Sound Voltex players, who were not only more numerous than me playing DDR alone, but also closer to him. Even so, he broke my concentration during several songs.

I have two questions for the community: How often do you encounter such attention-seeking players, both playing DDR and other rhythm games, and how do you deal with such people?

I was going to ask him to be a little quieter or ask the staff to ask him after I was done with my session, but he left about one game before I could do that.

What is the best site to buy DDR/PIU sensors? Are the DDR or PIU sensors better?

Hi. I am super new to playing ddr at home so sorry if this is a dumb question but I couldn't find a direct answer through Google -

I just purchased 2 Red Octane Afterburner dance pads at an auction. It's just the pads nothing that hooks them up to the console. Does each pad need a control box?

Also, the only place I see where I can buy the control box is on this ddrpad website. They want $70. Does anyone know of any other places that sell them? For less than $70? I checked ebay and Amazon to no avail. Thank you!

Not sure if this is known in the community or not but I found out yesterday that water shoes work great for DDR. I had a pair sitting around and the lightbulb went off. They are non slip, breathable, lightweight and fit like a glove. All for $10!

What do you guys recommend? I wear air max 90’s when I play but they are not the best.

Getting back into DDR. Got Outfox running, but I rarely see step files with holds. The step/sim files could be generated. Wondering if I could get advice on finding/making better step files with holds (don’t mind getting technical here).

Also, what are your preferences on Outfox vs SM5?

I'm working on building my own FSR pad following the various guides in this sub and on YouTube. I'm not interested in having a light show (LEDs). One of the most expensive aspects seems to be buying strong/thick acrylic to stomp on. Is there any inherent benefit to acrylic vs, for example, plywood? Other than not being able to see the light show? It seems to me the FSR would be able to read pressure through plywood just as well. Is there something I'm missing?
