Hello! Was wondering if anyone has done a commander Cody cosplay or any clonetrooper cosplay. How does one paint the intricate details on the clonetrooper helmet? Do I use stuff like stencils?
I made this glove a while ago as my first cosplay as Edward eldrick and liked the final result, so I wanted to try again but with more durable materials and paint. What should I use?
In this one I used some type of fabric that I found as the base and EVA fosm for the details, also used some elsstic fibers for the fingers and just Acrylic gray paint.
I wanted to do it again but with something more durable and resilient, what are some materials that migth suit well?
First time cosplaying or making anything. Took around 100-ish hours (learn by screwing up).
If I did it again I think I could knock it out in around 50 really good hours (the lacing is a beast no matter how experienced you are)..
Massive shout out to SKS Props. That guy is so awesome and so generous. I literally cannot give him enough praise and gratitude.
3D printed head with paint and lava flames added by me!
I've been loving Dandadan this season and recently saw TheAnimeMen come out with their music video and they had the aliens from the first episode in their video. I would love to make the mask myself for an animecon but i'm completely new to cosplay. Does anyone have any ideas where I would start to make this thing?
here's link to the music video for refference:

Hello! I'm wanting to replace the hilt of this sword I got from Spirit Halloween but I'm not sure what the best way to go about doing it is. The I'm pretty sure the sword is made out of Polyurethane and the blade is about 23/24 inches long. About the same length as the Nerf Vantage sword. I'm wanting to replace the hilt because the hilt feels too long and the base of the hilt is also very small. What would be my best way to do this?
Hello i want to do an iron fist mask myself, i got an idea on how to do it but never made a mask before. Anyways, which fabric would you recommend me? Thanks.
Wasteland scavenger mask made from leather bone and vintage items, the removable jaw allows for the attachment of the rebreather device or intimidating fanged jaw.
hi! im making armor right now, with EVA foam, hot glue, and silver Rub'nBuff paint. I accidentally went over some dried hot glue while trying to put the paint on the foam, and i found that it looks AMAZING ontop of dried hot glue.
Im wanting to apply hot glue all over the foam now, before putting paint over it. Issue is, I already have a section done where I just put the paint on the foam. The tube says "do not use near heat or flame"... so can I put HOT glue ontop of already dried paint?
Hello! I’m currently crafting a paracelsus prop. I originally painted the top with acrylic paint over mod podge on EVA foam. The paint job looks a little patchy and i think spray paint would look better. Is it okay for me to use spray paint over the acrylic?
I’m trying to make a coffin prop for my next cosplay, but i think it’s kinda big and so i want it to be detachable for easy carrying I’m not sure how i’ll do it, i really need help with this idea
so I'm trying to make the amber from resident evil four and I'm wondering what the best way to get the metal look without using actual metal obviously. The second picture is a prop someone else made and I'm wondering what material they might have used. The biggest issue I've run into is that I cant get the foam to cut without breaking, originally the foam i got was more like insulation and I wasn't able to find eva foam thick enough.
Hello im working on a goat fursuit head but its different from a normal fursuit head. Im making this one from a dino mask. I already used eva foam, foam clay and bison contact glue on it. I want to use something as a base (ive looked at flexbond) so i can eventually paint on it. After painting on it i want to use a top coat that is protective, matt and can stand outdoor filth like dirt and such which can also be easily cleaned but that the coat wont come off with water. Anyone have some ideas for what i can use?
I am working on a mask and I have a deadline and the foam clay is not drying as fast as I expected it too.
Can someone give me a tip how I can make it dry faster?
Maybe with a blow-dryer or even in the oven for a short time? Does someone has experience with this?
Hey I've been getting into cosplay for the last few years and I've only been using cardboard and just started using eva and mattress foam (for chunky pieces) I have no expireience in working with stuff like this and want to know how to make things realistic looking and also how weapon making would work. I normally cosplay as either fnaf zelda or I'm going to be doing the spy from tf2 for this Halloween.
I'm making a silver daft punk helmet for a friend and it needs to be done by tmr night and the dome is killing me rn how do I do it bc it's all cardboard and I'm on a crazy low budget
I'm trying to make The Service Weapon from the game Control. Luckily, it's pretty simple, but unfortunately I only have the EVA foam you get from Micheal's. And I don't have access to my dremel for the time being. Does anyone have any tips on how to sand this Micheal's foam so it's not fuzzy? Do I need a higher grit sand paper? Do I need to hit it with a heat gun after sanding it? Or should I just suck it it up and buy some higher quality foam?
Just about done printing the last bits of my mando costume - this is my first try at finishing so I'm just vapor-smoothing the armor while I am nearly done sanding & priming the helmet, which I'm going to (attempt to, lol) finish with sliver + graphite rub.
I realized i have no idea how to attach pieces like the shoulder armor with no obvious way to make a strap. I have a patterned shirt under the armor I've printed, is gluing my best bet? Hot glue?
Thanks!
