The rumor that I'm hearing is tore ACL.
In > 20 innings of relief pitching at OU, Jordy Bahl never gave up an earned run
In all innings pitched in college softball, Jordy Bahl had a less than .040 ERA WRISP
I'd appreciate the help! I don't have a computer anymore
If a college athlete starts college already having an associate’s degree (from earning credit in high school), can they only play for the 2 years until they get a bachelor’s and graduate college? Or, after they get the bachelor’s, would they have to take more classes for about 2 more years in order to play for a total of 4 years?
Hi everyone,
I suffered a pretty nasty concussion playing volleyball almost a year ago that knocked me unconscious, and have had some lingering effects that have only recently started to clear up (thankfully), but it inspired me to conduct my own studies on the subject matter. Right now I’m conducting a study on the physiological differences (if any) between men and women when it comes to loss of consciousness due to a blow to the head, particularly in sports. My research aims to compare instances of concussions resulting in loss of consciousness across genders to analyze factors like:
I’ve been able to locate many examples from men’s sports due to greater media coverage, but I’m having difficulty finding similar examples from women’s sports. If anyone knows of publicly available footage or instances from women’s softball that fit these criteria, I’d greatly appreciate it. Video footage is extremely helpful as it allows me to examine the occurrence visually and get the data I need more accurately, so if the game is available on YouTube or even a streaming service, that would be phenomenally helpful! I know concussions are fairly rare in softball as its not a contact sport but I know it does happen.
Please note, this is purely for academic purposes, and I’m committed to treating the subject matter with sensitivity and professionalism.
Thank you in advance for any help or suggestions!
Before I say anything, I am well aware that this is a long shot, but please give me honest advice!
Right now I am a freshman in college and as much as I hate to admit it, I am sincerely regretting not playing softball at school. The college that I’m at doesn’t even have a club team. I was a decently stand out player especially during the end of my high school career and I know I could’ve played somewhere—now I’m not saying that would be OU by any means but I was able to play collegiate level.
Basically, my question is, would it be at all possible to transfer to a college and walk on a softball team? D1 D3, just anywhere. Even after a years absence but if I work and train hard for the remainder of the school year and summer? I have the work ethic to put in if there’s even a tiny chance and I’d be willing to reach out to anyone. Really do anything it takes.
I was on a phone call with my old softball coach who played at a big D1 school and this subject came up. Long story short she says it’s not impossible but it’s very difficult and unlikely. Do y’all have any advice for me? I know this seems like a probably ridiculous post but I’m trying to see what I can do

Hey! I was wondering if anyone knows a roundabout price of tickets for the clearwater invitational? Tickets go on sale next week, and I wanted to see if it was in the budget to drive down for the weekend. Thanks
As of this posting, OU hasn't posted their full 2025 schedule. It would be interesting to see what other teams will play.

Hey Parents & Players! 🥎
I’m a former D1 softball player with close connections across D1 to JuCo and I know how confusing and costly the recruiting process can be. I’m putting together a Softball Development & Recruiting Advisor Service to help make this journey easier and more affordable for families. I want to give you the guidance I wish I’d had—basically a full blueprint to set your athlete up for success.
Here’s what I’m planning to include:
✅ Softball Skill Development Modules
✅ Strength & Conditioning Programs tailored to your needs
✅ Mental Skills Training for peak performance
✅ Comprehensive Recruiting Guide to help you understand the process and stand out to college coaches
✅ Parent Module: Tips on supporting your athlete, financial planning, and navigating financial aid
✅ 1:1 Personalized Support for players and families throughout the journey. I will even try and connect you with a current player in college to have as a mentor!
I’ll also be using my network to create a podcast with real insights from coaches and players to give you the inside scoop on recruiting. My goal is to make this process less stressful and more effective for everyone involved.
What do you think? Would this be helpful? I’d love your feedback and any ideas on what else you’d like to see!! 😊
Hi, I bought my Tournament Pass for the 2025 tournament. I'll be cheering for Duke. Can you please offer some advice for reserved seats? What rows are better than others? Should I try to buy behind the dugout, toward home base? Thanks so much for your time and advice!!!
Theoretical question... does anyone know firsthand of a student athlete who started at a D3, graduated early and played her two more years of eligibility as a graduate student at a D1 institution?
Looking for anyone that has used NCSA to aid in their recruitment. We have been members for a bit now and wondering what other experiences were. Postive to negative and everywhere in between. Particularly wondering what the services limitations are?
My daughter is a junior in high school, she plays softball and is trying to get started emailing coaches. If anyone has any advice at all especially if you went through the process as a softball player, it would be greatly appreciated!
I see Oklahoma is broadcasting their Battle Series and a game vs Texas A&M Commerce next week, but don't see much else. Do any other teams broadcast their Fall Ball games anywhere?
Edit: Wrong Texas A&M team

Just wondering if college players that are currently playing post their highlights on twitter?

Hello,
Does anyone have any info on what happened with the coaching change at Memphis? It was very hush, hush and sudden. And seemingly late in the off season? I didn't even realize it happened until looking at the U of M softball page earlier. Nothing was even posted about VanBrakle Prothro leaving and then I see Trena Prater from Campbell is the new coach, which seems promising?
I'm a fan of these Tigers, but it's always so hard to find any info on the program and feelings about it. Especially as it's gotta be one of the worst programs in D1 over the past 5 years or so, as I'm sure this subreddit is aware. Commiserating in being a Memphis Tiger softball fan is always welcome!
Also, any Campbell fans/followers that can give insight to Coach Porter? I really want a reason to get excited about this upcoming season.
As expected, more upgrades are coming to OKC ahead of the Olympics. This is from okctalk.com.
“In preparation for hosting the softball competition for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic games, plans are underway to add a 32,000 square foot indoor practice facility as well as locker rooms to the USA Softball Hall of Fame complex in northeast Oklahoma City. The $15 million project would include pitching and hitting cages, a softball infield, sports medicine facilities, and offices and be connected to the 13,000-seat Devon Park via a tunnel. It will be located in the northwest corner of the existing parking area. Already the best softball facility in the world, the improvements will help retain the Women’s College World Series for years to come.”
I have my master's degree in sport and exercise psychology, and I am a doctoral student in the clinical psychology program (PsyD) at Northern Arizona University. I am in the process of completing my dissertation/clinical research project, which is investigating the conflict and acceptance between rookie and veteran college athletes. This project has been approved by Northern Arizona University’s IRB (Project Number: 2197486-2).
Participants will be asked to complete an online survey that will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. The survey includes questions about your experiences with the levels of acceptance experienced with teammates, conflict with teammates, as well as questions about the participant’s demographic information and background. All responses will be kept confidential and anonymous.
