Support of qtmapper on chromeos

I was wondering if anyone managed to run qtmapper properly on chromeos using shizuku or by rooting the android subsystem container.

I'm open to any other key mapping tools, I know the "key mapper" application but that doesn't support swipe and hold gesture, so is there any other alternatives or ways to get this working?

Steam

To all of you Chromebook users who game on it (Including myself) i would like to say i downloaded the Steam Linux version on my chromebook to game a little bit. I'm looking for a Steam FPS game that is supported on Linux and is no more than 15GB to download. I also want the fps game to be a team deathmatch style game that is multiplayer and if possible A cyberpunk one or bright colored one.

Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5 2022 Specs:

Intel Core i3 11th gen 1115G4 3.00 HZ

8GB Ram

128 GB Storage

Any recommendations?

Modding The Sims 4

Hello! Is it possible to mod Sims 4 on a Chromebook? I've searched around already and I think you can, though it's a little complicated. Plus I'm new to Linux and ChromeOS 😅 (I play the Steam version of Sims 4 btw)

Controller mapping?

So I've been trying to get into chormebook gaming nowadays but I can't seem to find any thing like keysticks or joy2key for chromebook. One thing to note I cant do browser extensions or download from play store cuz its blocked... Anyways I can do flatpak things and I'm pretty sure my device can use Android apps. (About the flatpak I cant get antimicrox to work idk why, any help on that would be helpful as well). Thanks!

Steam on pixelbook go

Ok, so I got my hands on a pixelbook go and I love it! The thing I´m trying to figure out though is steam on it. I have sucesfully gotten steam on thru linux, and got portal 2 playing, but sadly I only have the base model with 64 gigs of storage, and thats not enough for anything when it comes to steam. I was planning to use a usb drive to hold my games, as I´m mostly looking to run older or simple games that the hardware could easily handle, but I could not get steam to see the usb drive. Is there any way to force Borealis on my hardware for native steam or get the linux version to hold my games?

I would love to get this working somehow, cause I´m very tempted to find a i7 version of the pixelbook go and being able to run steam on it would probably make me pull the trigger right now.

General advice

Hey all,

Ive been really struggling of late with finding what to game on.

Was a PC gamer for 30 years then I lost the space for a PC setup, last few year I'd been on Xbox but lost the space for that due to adaptations for disabled daughter around 5 months ago now.

Initially tried cloud on a tablet with a stretchy controller which I just didn't like the form factor of.

Grabbed a used g cloud which is a great bit of kit but I hate the hunched staring at a 7" screen.

I'm now thinking a used 2 in 1 Chromebook as it might be yet another just doesn't work for me so do t want to throw money at new.

I'm thinking I can just stand it on the windowsill and use a controller or sit it on the arm of a chair in its laptop form etc

Recent AAA will be via cloud gaming services.

I use the actduck videogame android app for emulation up to PS1 anyone know if this works on chrome.

How's the chrome version of steam for running the odd older game between years of say 2005-2015.

2 modelsl I'm looking at are an

Acer 713, i7 1051u, 16gb ram. £220

HP c1030, i5 1031u, 8GB ram. £120

Need good paid chromebook games that cost money but still work on low end devices.

I have a low end chromebook but still want to play fun games. I don't want to buy the game only to find out it doesn't run or runs at like 2 fps. My chromebook can fold into a tablet so i can still play mobile games.(though some don't work for some reason, like brawl stars)
Edit:
I have an Acer Chromebook spin 11 with 4 gb of ram and 32 gb of storage

Why is there a difference between a NTFS USB on Chromebook vs. a NTFS USB on Xbox?

This might not be the best place to ask, but it seems relevant. I am trying to use a NTFS-formatted USB to transfer games from a Chromebook to an Xbox. This is pretty common, but all the guides and videos are for people with Windows computers. When I format a USB to NTFS on the chromebook, the Xbox demands that it be formatted to NTFS again when I plug it into the Xbox. Oppositely, when I do format it to NTFS via the Xbox, it is then not recognized as an accepted format on the Chromebook and asks me to format the USB again. It is just a back and forth rejection between devices.

What is the difference? Both devices are claiming to do the same thing - formatting the USB to NTFS. Is it really just that Windows is considered superior? My Chromebook's release date is 2019 while the Xbox Series S that I am using was released in 2020. I tried to find the Crostini flag to enable that I think is potentially supposed to help with something like this, but evidently it was discontinued. Does anyone know a workaround for this? It just feels like I am missing something here.

Moonlight

Tried searching and couldn't find an answer. I found a good deal on one of the Lenovo gaming chromebooks and was thinking about getting it. The only thing I'd use it for would really be moonlight. But, I can't find any information if moonlight on chromeos(I'm guessing using the android version now) will support 120hz. All I've found is older posts saying moonlight on chromeos only allows up to 60hz. Can anyone confirm if it will indeed allow 120hz with at least 1080p resolution?

Ultrawide Monitor for Chromebooks

I recently came across and bought a 44" 32:9 ultrawide monitor from Innocn on sale for $479 on Amazon. It retails for $649 on Amazon by default. I've been using it for a few weeks and I'm really happy with it. Good color reproduction, IPS, 120hz. I have an Asus Chromebox 5 paired with it. If anyone uses geforce now on their chromebook and wants to do ultrawide gaming, I think this is their best choice. The highest resolution and refresh rate supported on the web version of geforce now is 3840x1080 at 120hz with the ultimate tier, so this monitor has the exact hardware needed to run it. On most ultrawides this would be too low of a resolution to use, but this one being only 44 inches wide makes this resolution way more serviceable in my opinion. It's also flat so that may or may not be a deal breaker for some, but I personally don't have a problem with it.

Asus also makes the ROG Strix XG49VQ with the same resolution and 144hz for $799, but with a 49" size the ppi drops to 81. Walmart's Onn has a monitor with the same dimensions for $599. The 81 ppi makes these monitors horrible to use imo.

There's also LG's 29WQ500-B for 21:9 usage with a slightly higher ppi than the Innocn at 95. Geforce now on the web at 21:9 only goes up to 2560x1080. Though after seeing this monitor on display at Best Buy, I think I like the Innocn better, plus that monitor only goes up to 100hz.

Web based ultrawide gameplay on geforce is in a weird position right now, but I think this monitor is a good choice for those that want to try it.

Otherwise just get a 2k monitor lol.

Lenovo IdeaPad 3i 14" CB Plus - anyone used steam on this?

Specifically the "LENOVO IdeaPad Slim 3i 14" Chromebook Plus - Intel® Core™ i3"

It's on the list of supported devices for the steam on Chromebook beta, just wondering how it performs especially with the intel i3.

I'm just considering Chromebooks for a family member who has bad habit of downloading everything under the sun, their old Windows Laptop is full of all sorts of junk and fake antivirus. I thought a Chromebook might be good for them because they have parental lock on their Google account anyway which I'd hope work with a Chromebook too? (On their phone, it asks the parent for permission before downloading - is this true for Chromebooks too?) And also it's a pretty locked down system, afaik if you download a dodgy .exe file it won't do anything because it just won't work.

But they do like a few Steam games. Mostly stuff like fall guys, some packing away game, Raft, Sky: Children of the light, Animal Jam. I've been told Chromebooks essentially use Proton like steam decks? So I'm hoping most games will work and it's just a case of having a device capable enough which is why I'm hoping someone could tell me their experiences attempting to run games with this device (or a similar i3 with 8GB of ram).

Thank you :)

Edit: Including specifications

CPU - Intel® Core™ i3-N305 Processor, Octa-core, 1.8 GHz / 3.8 GHz, 6 MB cache

RAM - 8GB LPDDR5 (4800 MHz)

Graphics - Integrated Intel UHD Graphics

Storage is just 256GB eMMC but would plan to have external drive.

If I purchase a Chromebook, can I get the PS Remote play app for my PS5 and use a Dualsense controller?

I’m looking at the Asus Chromebook CX1 15.6. I’m wondering if I can get the official ps remote play app and how reliable it is for this. How would the battery life hold?

Thanks.
