When I go to touch my chameleon he will hiss and lunge at my hand if I go anywhere near. He used to allow touching however now he hisses. I’m wondering what I am doing wrong and what I can do to stop this.

Hello!
I have been researching chams for quite some time (honestly years) and am hoping to pick one up sometime this year. I am looking for people's opinions on a cham as my first reptile, and any insights people may have! I understand that these guys are more finicky than others, and the reasoning behind them not being the ideal first reptile but I also feel with proper research and equipment its definitely possible to have a happy healthy cham!
The main thing that makes me nervous is the heat/humidity and although this is silly I have also thought about getting the enclosure set up and ensuring that I can keep it at the right temp before getting one to ensure I know how to do it properly
For reference, I am in my mid 20s, have researched LOTS over the years but didn't have the money or space to commit (I do now), I have a steady paying job, and don't travel much
Any help and advice would be appreciated! Thank you if you have read this far!

For a while now he's been just walking around the bottom sometimes but now it's him trying to get out of his enclosure. As soon as he gets on someone he runs directly to the window. And just sits there. Eventually he'll go back into his cage and then want to come right back out after about an hour or 2. Is this normal behavior?. He's got plenty of forage in his home, temp and lighting are perfect for him and we've never has any issues of this before. He used to be scared of handling but now he'll run right out on to you just to get close to the window. He lives in a 2x2x4. He's about a 9 months old He was perfectly comfortable in this home for about 2 months and now he just wants to explore?. He still has an appetite and is living just fine I'm just worried that he's stressed
