Found in my Rice Chex (what cereal is it?)

I was enjoying my Rice Chex for breakfast this morning and started to notice the taste of cinnamon. When I looked in my bowl I found what looked like a mini Cinnabon. I donā€™t have celiac but I have family members that do so I was concerned and curious if this ā€œbonusā€ cereal inclusion was also gluten free. I looked on General Mills website and didnā€™t see any cereal that looks like a mini Cinnabon, so what is it? I just want to know if I can trust that the Chex are gluten free, but if General Mills outsources packaging to a company thatā€™s cavalier about cross contamination then that can make folks with celiac pretty darned sick.

Have they changed the recipe for Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

My roommate has been eating it all his life and the latest boxes taste different, less sweet.

Mixing Cereal

Anybody else like to mix cereals together? My favorite combo is Oops All Berries and Peanut Butter Crunch. I call it PB&J Crunch.

Do you remember Rice Krispies Treats Cereal?

I donā€™t mean the still in production current rice krispie cereal, I mean TREAT at the end. It came in a purple colored box, had the same 3 mascots, and was clusters of rice krispies held together by pure sugar.

Welll, in the spirit of its founder and his hatred of all things that bring joy, Kelloggā€™s discontinued it years ago. There was a time I thought it was discontinued but I found it at Target and life was good again. Until it wasnā€™t. They are for sure GONE and not in any productionā€” plus at this point, no box left would be in an edible condition. So Iā€™m left having rice krispie cereal or rice krispies treatsā€¦ but not both. Never bothā€¦

Recently though, I had the idea that what if I got a dehydratorā€¦ because then, i would be able make a batch of rice krispie treats, pop them in there, and then Iā€™ll have a cereal. Or maybe I would get just pre made treats so ensure I really replicate the flavor. Either way I am curiousā€¦

Would I be left with the clone knock off I am desperately craving or would I make a monster that ruins the memory?? As someone who is not even slightly a food scientist I just need to know if this seems possible. My soul needs this. Who can confirm?? or what kind of factors should be considered?? is anyone else this desperate to try and recreate a masterpiece???? Thank you.

Frosted Flakes Strawberry milkshake

Not as bad as Iā€™ve seen some people say it is. I quite enjoy it and it is reminiscent of a milkshake. Must for fun for kids too as it makes the milk pink. My only issue is that there is a slightly oily feel it leaves on the lips. I get the same effect from Capā€™n Crunch for some reason.

The Mexican chocolate Frosted Flakes with marshmallows taste better than the U.S. version, but are as good as the chocolate milkshake variety. The marshmallows donā€™t add much flavor but help a little. They all share the same concept. Iā€™d rate them 8.2 out of 10.

A Lot Of Cereals Don't Hit Like They Used To.

Cocoa Puff Minis

More and more cereals are not hitting like they used to. They've changed the ingredients so much and for so long, it doesn't even taste as good as it used to.

Is cereal bad for the liver? Iā€™m currently in stage 1 liver failure and all I eat is cereal as itā€™s the only thing that does not produce heartburn and abdominal discomfort.

Toys and activities on back.

Do you guys still get toys in your cereals? If not, do you miss those days? For me...Ehh, not entirely.

Also..

Do you still do the activities on the back of the boxes? I rarely do, but haven't done it with a writing utensil in like forever, mostly with my eyes.

Did they discontinue Capā€™n Crunch Christmas Crunch?

I havenā€™t seen Christmas Crunch on the shelves since 2021. And Walmart doesnā€™t even stock it anymore on the app. Is it not a thing anymore?

Does anyone remember Cinnamon Grins cereal?

Hi folks,

Wondering if anyone remembers cinnamon grins (is that even what they were called? Blue box, smiley face shaped cereal) I was just reminiscing about them, googled them and I can't seem to find any record of them existing (to be fair, I didn't delve particularly deeply)

Does anyone remember what happened to them, why were they discontinued?

As far as i recall they were only sold in/around the US. I remember family who visited the UK from the states would bring a few boxes over every so often, this must've been 20-25 ish years ago.
