English Premier League supporters! A quick survey about your reactions to the European Super League.

Hello, we are a group of psychology researchers from the University of Kent, UK and University Côte d'Azur, France. It would be a huge help if any English Premier League fans would fill out our survey (18+ years old only) to help us in understanding people's thoughts and feelings regarding the European Super League.

https://lapcosnice.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1BJrqJGU3gJB0LY

The survey takes 5-8 minutes to complete, and we're happy to answer any queries or questions you may have.

Thanks for your time

Thoughts on moving from central London to Kent to pass covid lockdown there (1-2 years)?

Hello,

Basically what the title says. I live alone (with a rabbit), I'm working remotely and will keep doing so for about a year and a half at least. Will need to go to come back to London once per fortnight for work but that's all. I'll also be studying remotely for the next two years.

I'm originally from Argentina, been in London for around a year and a half. I've never been to Kent.

I've heard it's nice and I'd like to go through the extended lockdown in a nice place. I saw I can live relatively close to a beach, in a house with 2 bedrooms and a garden for half of what I pay for my 1-bed apartment in Clapham.

I also don't have a car nor a license, so anywhere where they have a bus to take me to the train station would be nice. Also, amazon fresh, probably.

What are your thoughts on Canterbury? Also, what about Deal? is it too desolate?

Theatre in Canterbury this week - A comedy drama about one woman's struggle with Alzheimer's - Thurs 5th-Sat 7th Sept

For anyone who is into theatre, there is an amateur production of Gail Young's 'Bothered & Bewildered' this week at The Gulbenkian in Canterbury.

Thu 5, Fri 6, and Sat 7 September at 7:30pm. Tickets are £12 and proceeds go to charity.

More info - https://thegulbenkian.co.uk/events/university-of-kent-players-bothered-bewildered/

Gail Young's Bothered & Bewildered is a comic drama that follows Irene and her two daughters Louise and Beth as they begin a long journey in which the girls lose their mum in spirit but not in body. As her family struggle to come to terms with her Alzheimer’s, Irene’s past passion for romantic fiction blurs with reality. She discusses with her unseen and witty companion Barbara Cartland (Irene’s favourite and now deceased world famous romantic novelist) how best to write her ‘memory book’, disclosing to Barbara long kept family secrets that she would never reveal to anyone else.

stop dangerous driving and illegal car and bike exhausts in Kent

Hello everyone.

I've lived in Kent for years and love it to bits. One of the biggest pains is the number of dangerous drivers and cars and bikes driving around with deafening car exhausts. I saw this petition on a Facebook group and thought i'd share it here. If anyone is affected by this please sign the petition.

Looking for social gamers

Hello,

I hope this post is consistent with the rules of the subreddit.

Gaming is a social activity.  Something you do to relax, unwind and take your mind off the real world.  This activity is always made better when you can do it with like-minded individuals.

We are local gamers, based in Kent in the south east of England.  After graduating University and entering the "real world", we noticed it became very difficult to co-ordinate and find times to play games with our friends.  So, we decided to do something about it.

Introducing our new discord server, Memin' and Dreamin'.  We created this for a place for local gamers to play together, have fun and potentially organise Local LAN parties and social events.  We're looking for gamers based in the UK to bolster our numbers and have fun with us.

We have various bots and voice channels set up, as well as doing game key giveaways that are free to enter.

If you're interested in joining, please join us at http://invite.gg/MaD

The kent school closure website..

So the kent school closure site is very secure.. I didn't know my password, set it up ages ago. Did forgot my password.. I instantly get an email with my password in plain text. Thankfully it's an old one but still. I suggest anyone with an account change the password to something not used anywhere else or remove your account outright.

Any tips on where to take someone out?

I'm from the Philippines, and I went here to live with my boyfriend of two years for a while. I'm planning on taking him out on an adventure as a gift, but I'm completely clueless on where to take him. Any suggestions? Cool/fun activities to do together, eat at, or visit? Thanks!

Working windmills in Kent that are open in Oct?

Hello, /r/BritishKent! I'm a Yank that will be visiting next month. I am an 40-something engineer and am interested in old 'machinery stuff'.

I am hoping to visit the Romney, Dymchurch & Hythe RR and the RopeWorks in Chatham.

I would like to see a working windmill as well. The New Mill in Willesborough looks interesting, but it-- and others that I see online-- are only open limited hours, and only through September. (There is a old water pumping station near Rochester that will be closed as well...)

Do you know of any working windmills that may be open late in the week (Thu&Fri) in October?

Also, anything else you'd like to suggest? medieval/age_of_sail/industrial_revolution/WWI/WII/etc mechanical stuff.

Thanks so much!!!

Best place to live near Rochester Airport?

I'm moving to work as a graduate near Rochester Airport this summer and am looking for one bed unfurnished flats.

I'll need somewhere to park my car, and would prefer to live in a reasonably nice area if possible. I don't really know how much of a daily commute I would be happy about - perhaps 15-20 mins each way max? Maybe that's wishful thinking.

I'd like to go unfurnished for a long-term rent.

My monthly net income will be £1750 (after tax, NI, student loans, pension) - so I'm guessing I'll be able to afford about £600pcm?

Visiting Kent

Hi all, we will be visiting Kent for the next week or so. I was wondering if you have any advice about things to go see and places to eat (nothing too fancy, we like to keep it cheap and simple for dinner). First half of the week we're staying near Sissinghurst, second half near Canterbury. Any advice would be much appreciated!

A town called Chilton?

Hi everyone,

I'm an American guy and have been doing some genealogical research lately, trying to find out where one of my ancestors came from. I found some (admittedly a bit dodgy) records online that claim he was born in 1595 in a town called Chilton in Kent. I can't seem to find any information on this town, so either this information is crap or perhaps there was a name change. I would greatly appreciate any information you may have.

Cheers.
